Smokebox Numberplate 69521. Ex Gresley N2 Class Locomotive, built by the North British Locomotive Company in 1921. Allocations include Kings Cross and New England. Withdrawn June 1961.
War Service enamel Badges, qty 8 to include: rare WWI Ruston Lincoln 1915; Glasgow & South Western WWI; Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway (white not red enamel in crown); North Eastern Railway; WWII LMS and x 3 WWII LNER. All are in extremely go od condition.
A selection of 3 enamel Armbands comprising: NBR Look-Out; NBR Flag-Man; LNER Look-Out. None have straps but all are in reasonable condition.
Shedplate 82G Templecombe on the S&D Railway. Totally ex loco with remnants of original Swindon paint. Absolutely spot-on, recovered recently from a JCB bucket being used in a barn clearance.
Totem BR(W) GLOUCESTER CENTRAL, H/F. Ex GWR station in the heart of the City, once linked to the long gone Midland Railway Eastgate station via a rather long footbridge. Little or no damage, good colour and shine.
LNER 9 x 5 brass Works Numberplate `London & North Eastern Railway 9673 Built Gorton 1927`. Ex 0-6-2T N7 Class originally numbered 2633. Re-numbered in 1946 to 9673 and then to 69673 by BR. Allocations include Stratford, Colchester and Parkeston Quay. Withdrawn Sept 1961. Ex loco condition.
Nameplate ST PETER`S SCHOOL YORK AD 627. Reflective steel type measuring 55" x 6". Ex HST Power Car 43152, named at York station by Wing Commander J S P Phillips DFC, former pupil at school and one of the construction team of V2 No. 4818 wh ich carried the name of the school from 1939. The name was applied on 05/11/84 and removed in March 1996. The naming date of 05/11/84 was selected as Guy Fawkes went to St Peter`s School, York. (Sold on behalf of Railway Children Charity)
GCR saucer-top Handlamp with bullseye lens, clearly stamped `GCR` and fitted with a plain brass plate LNE-C 3605 TORKSEY`. Complete and tastefully restored.
GWR Double Lever Frame, complete with both levers carrying traffolite plates numbered 1 & 2. Measures 43" tall.
A box of 12 Tilley Lamp Globes, each 3?" diameter x 3¾" tall. The box is original and bears a label `To PW Section Supervisor Eng Dept Llandrindod Wells, Western Region. Together with a hanging type Tilley Lamp with enamel hood and also tog ether with x3 other Tilley Lamps and a quantity of spare Vaporisers and other associated items. Ex Llandridnod Wells.
Cambrian Railways `knotted wood` Platform Seat Ends, a pair in original paintwork.
LMS Hawkseye LYDNEY TOWN. Ex Severn & Wye station, opened September 1875 to serve the town of Lydney from the Midland Railway junction at Berkeley Road via the Severn Bridge and on to the Forest of Dean. Closed on 26 October 1960 after the destru ction of the Severn Bridge. This sign was located on the wall of the Gentlemen`s Toilet on the station. A great rarity, not auctioned previously.
BR(E) enamel Station Sign LADIES, fully flanged measuring 18" x 6". Excellent condition, scarce for certain.
Totem BR(S) BEKESBOURNE, F/F dark green variety Ex LC&DR East Kent station between Canterbury East and Dover Priory. Excellent restoration both ends.
LNER enamel Notice with `winking eye` at top `Passengers Should Padlock Rear Wheels Of Bicycles` Measures 11½" x 8½", minor edge repairs. Excellent condition.
Single Line alloy Key Token SHARPNESS STH - BERKELEY RD JUNC. Ex Severn & Wye Railway Section in south Gloucestershire, first part of that railway after branching from the Birmingham to Bristol Midland Main Line.
Nameplate THE EARL. Ex Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway 2` 6" Gauge 0-6-0 Locomotive built at the Gorton Foundry, Manchester by Beyer Peacock under works number 3496 in 1902 at a cost of £1630.00. The order was placed in June 1901 and the loco arrived at Welshpool on the 2nd September 1902. Renumbered 822 by the GWR in 1923, the nameplate was removed by BR in 1951. Nice ex loco condition.
Great Central Railway saucer-top Handlamp brass plated `GCR 27769 IMMINGHAM`. Complete and tastefully restored.
Carriage Print `Grimsby, Lincs` by ET Holding from the LNER series. In an original type glazed frame.
Smokebox Numberplate 61112. Ex Thompson B1 4-6-0 Locomotive built by the NBL under works number 25868 in December 1946. Allocated to Kings Cross and later Lincoln. Withdrawn from Mexborough December 1962..
BR(E) flangeless enamel Doorplate TRAFFIC AGENT double line measuring 18" x 6". Extremely good condition.
Shedplate 40A Lincoln until May 1973. Face only restored. Together with an appropriate Wagon Plate `Clayton Wagons Ltd 1923 Abbey Works Lincoln with cast `roaring lion` in centre. Tastefully restored.
LNER cast iron Doorplate SHUNTERS, face restored, rear original.
Manchester Sheffield & Lincoln Railway mahogany Chairs a pair. Re-upholstered with red vinyl. Each measures 35" tall having company initials deeply carved into the backs.
North British Station Edinburgh small teapot and a LNER Hotels Milk Jug in blue & white Wedgwood style manufactured by Dudson, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Two beautiful items, the teapot is complete with lid but has a chip beneath the spout and on th e lid, however it displays well. The Jug is pretty well mint.
GWR C/I Signalbox Board GOODS YARD SIGNAL BOX. Ex Worcester Shrub Hill goods yard which was situated to the east of the station between Wyldes Lane Box and Tunnel Junction Box. Manufactured in 1900 at Reading.
Totem BR(M) CONNAHS QUAY, F/F. Ex L&NWR station between Shotton and Flint on the North Wales coast line. Opened in September 1870, it closed in 1966. Good overall condition with some minor chips here and there.
GNR double pie-crust Handlamp brass plated `Great Northern Railway LINCOLN No 45`. Complete with interior reservoir and burner. Tastefully restored.
London & Birmingham Railway C/I oval Bridge Plates, qty 3 being number 82 in unrestored condition; 86 fully restored and 80 which is fully restored with two ends replaced.
Signal Box Diagram WALTHAM housed in original glazed frame measuring 38" x 13½". One end shows `From Boston` the other `To Grimsby`. Some foxing and damage but still very desirable.
SE&CR mahogany cased Block Bell with split case held with two clasps on the top. Centre face Tapper beneath which is a black on white enamel plate CRAYFORD SPUR "A" BELL. Excellent condition.
GWR brass Locomotive Whistles, a pair mounted on a wooden board for display. The smaller `shunting whistle` is stamped GWR on the lower knuckle.
BR(W) enamel Platform Sign CAFETERIA & BAR, F/F 60" x 12". Good colour and shine, cream lettering has many rust spots but a great rarity to restore. Ex Bristol Temple Meads station.
North Eastern Railway enamel Doorplate STATION MASTER`S OFFICE, 20" x 8", brown and cream. Chip at both ends at the top corners not affecting lettering, otherwise excellent. As recovered from Scruton station between Leeming Bar and Ainderby in Wensleydale. The station closed in 1954
GWR Bristol Division Retirement Book as presented to Jonathan Hogg. A delightful volume with 8 very thick card pages having gilt edging. The first page bearing an ornate scroll outlining the begging of his acceptance of a retirement cheque etc with f ull company title at the bottom dated October 1904. The remaining pages has successive entries of colleagues names written in fanciful script. A fully titled letter accompanies detailing the sending of the album and a cheque for £45 Note Mr Hogg was Assistant Superintendent at Bristol Temple Meads
Sugg `Mexican Hat` Platform Lamp with glass globe and mounting gas valve. Green enamel, good condition.
Totem BR(S) NEWINGTON, F/F dark green variety. Ex LC&DR station between Rainham and Sittingbourne, opened on 25 January 1858. A few small, expertly repaired chips.
