Industrial Nameplate BEXHILL. Ex Standard Gauge 0-6-0ST which was built by Manning Wardle as their No. 1365 in 1898. It originally worked for contractors H.M.Nowell and S.Pearson and Co. Ltd before going to the Ministry of Munitions at Darlington. In 1919 it was acquired by J.F.Wake, Dealers , of Darlington and was sold on to James Smith who owned an Ironworks at Hamworthy in Dorset. In about 1937 it moved to the British Sugar Corporation’s Factory at Sproughton just outside Ipswich and was scrapped there in 1952.

The chain driven fusee movement which has recently been cleaned and oiled has rectangular plates with shaped shoulders and is stamped in the back Ex YRK which confirms that the clock was orig inally sold from the British Railways Collectors corner shop in York sometime in the 1970`s. The original dial bears the writing LNER 5884 , the excellent quality flame mahogany case which is in original condition has a ornate wooden lenticle window and detailed carved ears. The LNER clock records show that the clock was in use at Barnard Castle East cabin Signal box, altogether a magnificent and rare clock. Complete with Pendulum and Key. Circa 1870

LMS Lucas King Of The Road 1920`s Rear Lamp ex LMS Road Cart. Brass construction standing 8¾" tall with clear lens and small red lens to side. An electric bulb fitting to the rear suggests this may have been a `transitional` design. The accompan ying letter and copy of original Lucas Catalogue shows this to be a rear lamp, the clear lens to light the vehicle numberplate and the red to show the back of the vehicle. Stamped `LMS 1766B` it carries the standard King Of The Road makers plate showing Lamp Number 631 to the front and there is also an additional plate at the rear `1756` possibly added by the LMS. Complete with screw-out reservoir and burner. Acquired by the vendor`s Grandfather in the 1930`s from Euston Goods. A most desirable lamp.

L&NWR Station Master Hat with company initials embroidered above the `scrambled egg` peak. Accompanying L&NWR Rule Book and other booklets indicates that the owner, a Mr G.A. Dyke was District Relief Clerk at Knighton station in Radnorshire. This may well have been his hat or he may have acquired it from the Station Master at Knighton. Some minor damage to the peak otherwise a very nice survivor indeed.

Worksplate Sentinel (Shrewsbury) Ltd Loco No 9535. Rectangular brass measuring 5¼" x 4". Ex Standard Gauge 100 hp 4wVBT loco that went new on the 14 May 1952 to the National Coal Board West Midlands Division at Silverdale Colliery in Staff ordshire. No name or number. Out of use by 1968 and then on 10 October 1972 acquired by the Foxfield Light Railway at Dilhorne for preservation. Spent some time at the Telford (Horsehay) Steam Trust, Horsehay, Shropshire from June 1981 but appears to be currently back at Foxfield.
