Totem BR(M) BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET, H/F. Ex L&NWR and Midland Railway station in the heart of Britain`s second city. Some restoration in the centre and a few other small areas.
Nameplate NYASALAND. Ex Stanier 4-6-0 `Jubilee` Class locomotive built Crewe Works in October 1934 and numbered 5622, later 45622 by BR. Allocated to the Manchester and London areas on a rotating basis but importantly moved to Burton in 1963 for appr oximately a year and finally Derby until withdrawal in late 1964, working regular Derby to Bristol turns throughout this period. Scrapped at Cashmore`s Great Bridge in late 1964. Note: Nyasaland became Malawi in 1964 upon independence from British rule.
Southern Railway Poster `The Lord Nelson - New Express Passenger Locomotive for the Southern Railway Built at the Company`s Works, Eastleigh, 1926 - Most Powerful Passenger Engine in Great Britain`, double royal size 25" x 40". Top quarter has a side view in colour of No 850 LORD NELSON. Published by the Southern Railway, printed by Waterlow. Fold and some edge crinkling but a quite magnificent poster nevertheless.

Smokebox Numberplate 42845. Ex Hughes 2-6-0 `Crab` built Horwich Works in October 1930. Allocations include Huddersfield, Agecroft, Aintree and Gorton. Withdrawn in August 1964 and cut up at Cashmore`s, Great Bridge. A copy of the Engine Record Card accompanies.
Original Oil Painting on board of LYR 4-4-0 locomotive on a Passenger Train by RF Berridge. Framed and glazed measuring 18" x 15", image size 12" x 9½". Note: Richard Berridge is more known for his tram paintings and this fine exe cution shows his skill are not just confined to trams.
NER Mahogany cased 12" drop dial English fusee clock. The chain driven fusee movement which has recently been cleaned and oiled has rectangular plates with shaped shoulders and is stamped in the back Ex YRK which confirms that the clock was orig inally sold from the British Railways Collectors corner shop in York sometime in the 1970`s. The original dial bears the writing LNER 1335 and has ghosted Smith & Sons Clerknewell which is a rare feature, the excellent quality flame mahogany case which is in original condition has a brass bow tie lenticle window and retains its original cast brass bezel. The LNER clock records show that the clock was in use at Barnard Castle East cabin Signal box , however the back of the case has Seamer West Box marked on it probably indicating a late transfer, altogether a magnificent and rare clock.

GWR brass Weed Killer Pump bearing the makers brass plate `Abol Patent No 5 Specially Recommended By The National Rose Society`. Almost 27" in length and clearly branded `GWR` on the bulbous, wooden handle.
BR(Sc) enamel Sign "Left Luggage", 24" x 18", F/F. Virtually mint.
BR wooden Carriage Board COALEY JCN - DURSLEY. Blood and custard measuring 28" x 4", retains both steel end strengtheners.
Headboard `DELTIC SCOTSMAN FAREWELL`, wooden construction with the English and Scottish Flags either side. As used on Deltic 55022 ROYAL SCOTS GREY on the final trip from Kings Cross to Edinburgh on the 2nd January 1982.
GWR `Clowns Hat` cast iron Signal Finial, unusual pattern, unrestored, painted overall silver. Measures 20" tall, cast 3995 on base.
Stainless Steel `Swallow` Emblem marked on rear ex Class 91030 right hand side. Excellent ex loco condition.
BR(M) Enamel Doorplate `STAFF ONLY`. Measures 18" x 3½", F/F. Virtually mint.
LNER round style Kesick Ashtray, Scottish Pattern. LNER initials inside bottom and `This Ashtray Is The Property Of The London & North eastern Railway` on the underside. Measures 4" diameter, no repairs.
Taff Vale Railway wooden box with hinged lid revealing three internal compartments when opened. Measures 9¾" x 8¼" x 2½", it is clearly marked on lid `TVR Engineers Office Free Tickets`. The hinges are also marked `TVR`. The front lock mechanism is missing.
`British Rail Finsbury Park Locomotive Depot` Notice. Measures 11" x 35½", screen printed white lettering on BR blue ground with double arrow emblem top left. Was in use at the depot in the halcyon days of the Deltics
Original Oil Painting on canvas `Gateway to Snowdonia` by Barry John Freeman GRA. A wonderfully evocative view of Britannia 70045 prior to naming, coasting into Llandudno Junction with a Holyhead to Euston express. Mickey Mouse 46447 trundles light e ngine reverse toward Llandudno Town. The stunning backdrop of Conway Castle and town with the estuary to the left, completes this magnificent painting. Protected with clear plastic, it measures 33¾" x 28" in frame.
BR(E) enamel Sign "British Railways (in totem) Any Person Failing To Shut And Fasten This Gate Is Liable To A Penalty Not Exceeding 40/-". Measures 18" x 12", flangeless and is in virtually mint condition.
BR(NE) Lion-over-Wheel Gilt Capbadge YARD MASTER. In excellent condition, one of the rarest of this type of badge.
Deltic Nameplate Crest ex Deltic class 55 number D9016 later 55016 GORDON HIGHLANDER. The loco was built by the Vulcan Foundry and introduced to traffic October 1961 to Haymarket. Chromed brass, approximately 11" x 7½" showing the regiment al Stag`s head in the centre with Crown at the top beneath which is the motto `BYDAND`. Below the Stag`s head is the Regimental full title GORDON HIGHLANDERS. Signs of being well polished in service. It has since been cleaned. Small minute dent has original Deltic green paint present.
Lancashire and Yorkshire & London and North Western Railway Joint Bronze ships plaque, measuring 6" diameter. A rare survivor from one of the jointly owned and operated ships. In original condition with a nice patination.
Worksplate `Designed and Supplied By Brush Loco Number 875 - 1986 Brush Electrical Machines Ltd., Loughborough England, a Hawker Siddeley Company - Built By B.R.E.L. Crewe`. Ex prototype, and unique electric loco Class 89 001. Only one unit was built , being the officially named Avocet by the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on 16 January 1989 at Sandy, Bedfordshire, home of the RSPB (whose logo is the Avocet). Used on test-trains on both the West Coast Main Line and East Coast Main Line. Fitted with advanced power control systems developing over 6,000 bhp (4,500 kW). Although nicknamed "Aardvark" enthusiasts nicknamed it "The Badger" owing to its sloping front. Ex loco condition.

GWR wood cased Distant Signal Repeater having a red painted signal with brass plate showing `3` beneath the dial. Good condition.
Smokebox Numberplate 42212. Ex LMS 4P 2-6-4T Locomotive, built Derby December 1945 and allocated to Rose Grove before heading north of the border to Ardrossan and Corkerhill. Returned to Chester and then Trafford Park from where withdrawal took place in Summer 1965.
Single Line steel Key Token EMBLETON - COCKERMOUTH STATION No 22 . Ex Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway which closed in 1966 being the last section after Bassenthwaite Lake.
Cast alloy Road Sign `Hospital`, 21" x 12" depicting cross within shield. Complete with all glass bead reflectors. Cast at bottom `Franco Traffic Signs Ltd. Ex roadside condition.
Cast iron `cruciform` Signal Finial, 28" tall, painted overall black. Dutton & Co. ‘house’ pattern, used occasionally on the Cambrian and the Highland, at Douglas station on the Isle of Man and probably in a few other locations i ncluding the Vale Of Rheidol Light Ry. A rare finial for sure.
G.W.R. 12-inch mahogany trunk cased drop dial clock with a spun brass bezel manufactured for the G.W.R. in the period 1870–1880 and supplied by Kay`s Limited of Worcester. The quality English chain driven fusee movement with large rectangular plates, shaped shoulders and turned pillars, is in fully working condition, the white enamel painted dial displaying bold Roman numerals and GWR in the post grouping roundel style, surrounded by a spun brass bezel, the ivorine plate No GWR 2735 is fixed to the left hand side of the case and the bottom door lock has been replaced by the normal Reading modification of a ball bearing catch. The clock was acquired from an ex railwayman`s family located in the village of Bretforton Worcestershire and they confirmed that the clock was purchased by their father from Cheltenham Spa station where he spent the last years of his railway service.
Nameplate SHREWSBURY CASTLE. Ex GWR 4-6-0 locomotive number 5009, built Swindon June 1927 under Lot No 234 being the 17th Castle Class built under this particular lot. Allocated new to Laira, it swapped between the West Country and the London area fo r many years. Final allocation in 1948 was Swindon spending the whole BR career there. Withdrawal took place in October 1960 and was cut up on home soil at Swindon Works. A lovely, ex loco plate on the front and back. The back is clearly stamped with the lot number and No 17 as well as `R` for right-hand plate. Was in singular ownership since being purchased from BR for 37/6d in 1960.
