Sykes Lock & Block Signal Box Instrument '22 FREE TO HOLMETHORPE'. Complete with top indicator intact and brass Makers plate. Ex Merstham Starbridge Box. In excellent condition.

Totem BR(S) ELMSTEAD WOODS fully flanged, light green. Ex SER station between Grove Park and Chislehurst. In excellent condition with just one small chip.

GWR Shelf Plate HATTON WEST AVOIDING LINE. Machine engraved retaining original wax filling.

Worksplate John Fowler & Co Leeds Ltd no 4210143 dated 1958. Ex Standard Gauge 0-6-0DM new in August 1958 to the Ministry of Power firstly working at Rawcliffe near Goole and finally Portishead in Somerset. Circa September 1969 it went to George Cohe n’s at Kettering where it was used as a yard shunter before going to Chettles Feather Hair Products at Wymington in Bedfordshire as a stationary generator (no wheels or cab) in about January 1975. It soon moved on to E.M.Cox Ltd. In Peterborough in a similar capacity where it was finally scrapped about 1987. Rectangular 'wing' shape' brass 19in x 3.5in, ex loco condition.

Original Oil Painting 'Royal Scot 46109 Royal Engineer Leaving Manchester' by Joe Townend GRA. An evocative view of the loco pulling a rake of coaches away from Manchester. Unframed measuring 30 inches x 20 inches.

Shedplate 88J, Aberdare from January 1961 until March 1965. Restored but correct casting pattern and was purchased in February 1967..

GNR single pie-crust Handlamp with brass makers plate H. Baynton Birmingham ands also brass plated Great Northern Railway LUDBORO No 4. Tastefully restored.

Smokebox Numberplate 63937. Ex LNER Gresley O2 class locomotive built Doncaster December 1923 and allocated to New England. Allocations also included Doncaster, Colwick, Grantham, Frodingham and Retford. Withdrawn September 1963.

Nameplate MERSEY ex Industrial Locomotive. Standard Gauge 0-4-0DM built by John Fowler No. 22894 of 1940 which was new to J. Crossfield & Sons Ltd. of Warrington. Somewhere along the line its name was transferred to 0-4-0DM John Fowler No. 21909 (for merly Charles Huffam) which was sold in March 1959 to N. Greening & Sons Ltd., Britannia Wire Cloth Works, Warrington. In 1966 No. 21909 passed to T.W. Ward Ltd., Brindle Heath Scrap Yard, Salford, and was scrapped circa 1967. Rectangular brass 16in x 5.5in, in ex loco condition.

GWR Cabside Numberplate 8755. Ex GWR 0-6-0PT built Swindon October 1933 and allocated to Paddington. Moved to South Wales, Pontypool before ending up back at Paddington, probably on shunter duty, in 1955 until withdrawal in December 1957. A copy of t he original receipt accompanies, the original is with cabside numberplate 2572.

Totem BR(M) BUSHEY & OXHEY fully flanged. Ex LNWR station, opened 1841 between Watford and Carpenders Park on the West Coast Main Line. Interestingly, during the war when locations were painted out to confuse any enemy landing, the ampersand on the o riginal signs were left visible and the station became known as simply '&'. Good overall condition with a few minor chips.

GWR Hotels Dept Paddington Vinegar stoneware bottle with original cork. Stands 8.5in tall, a couple of small chips on the lip.

BR(E) enamel Doorplate PARCELS AND LEFT LUGGAGE, 18in x 6in, flangeless. Minor edge chips only.

Brass Locomotive Whistle ex King Arthur Class Locomotive. The valve is stamped BR(S) along with the Eastleigh Triangle. The top is stamped BR YM3.

GWR 'script pattern' Station Platform Seat Ends a apair in original condition.

Nameplate SILKSTONE ex Industrial Locomotive. Standard Gauge 0-4-0ST built by the Hunslet Engine Co No. 1163/1914 new to Pope & Pearson Ltd., West Riding Colliery, Altofts, and to the National Coal Board with site on 1 January 1947. Scrapped sometim e between April and September 1962. Rectangular brass 33in x 7in, ex loco condition.

Worksplate Kitson & Co 1899 Leeds. In 1899 Kitson built locos for both the home and overseas railways including the Cardiff Railway, LDECR, Midland Railway, Taff Vale Railway, the Consett Iron Company, Dorman Long, Monk Bretton Colliery and Ireland a nd India. Unfortunately the history of this plate has been lost but its size makes it a rarity. Oval brass with rear drilled and tapped bosses, 6.25in x 3.75in, ex loco condition

BR(S) dark green enamel Platform Sign PLATFORMS 4 & 5 with right facing feathered arrow, 24in x 18in, good condition.

GNR & GE Joint Railway Handlamp bearing a steel plate stamped POSTLAND. Tastefully restored.

Single Line Tyers Key Token WYMONDHAM - HETHERSETT. Ex GER section between Norwich and Thetford.

Works Numberplate 9 x 5 LNER Gateshead Works 1907. The number has been ground off and replaced with a brass strip 62387. Ex Wordsell 4-4-0 Class D20 locomotive. Allocations include West Hartlepool, Heaton, Selby and Tweedmouth. Withdrawn in September 1957.

GWR all copper, large Cooking Pan together with an all copper Saucepan stamped NER Royal Hotel York.

Totem BR(W) TORQUAY flat plastic in black and white experimental style. Ex GWR station on the English Riviera.

GWR hanging signalbox oil lamp complete with shade , reservoir and with original glass funnel which is etched GWR No3 . As removed by the vendor from Bargoed signalbox. Rare to have an original GWR marked funnel.

GWR wood with cast letters, double sided sign WAITING ROOM measuring 48 ins x 12 ins. In original condition with original chocolate and cream paint.

Single Line alloy Key Token PONTLOTTYN NORTH - RHYMNEY. Ex Bargoed to Rhymney branch line section. Ex box condition.

GWR black leaf Egg Cups, qty 6. Two are marked beneath Bridgestone and Copeland, the others have feint markings. All are in good, used condition.

Worksplate WG Bagnall Ltd Engineers Stafford England No 2751. Ex Standard Gauge 0-6-0ST Austerity loco built September 1944 for the Ministry of Supply Longmoor and later in use at NCB Bolsover. Oval brass in ex loco condition.

Smokebox Numberplate 43332. Ex LMS 0-6-0 3F locomotive built by Kitson in May 1892, originally numbered 3332. Allocations include Sheffield Grimesthorpe. Withdrawn May 1958. A copy of the original Halifax Railfans receipt accompanies, the original wi ll be with smokebox numberplate 45433.

Nameplate INUNGU plus the matching alloy Cabside Numberplate 416 and cast brass Bufferbeam Plates (x2) No 416. Ex Rhodesian Railways Class 15A Garratt 4-6-4 + 4-6-4 Locomotive built by Beyer Garratt under works number 7557 in 1952.

Totem BR(S) COULSDON NORTH, fully flanged dark green. EX LB&SCR station opened as Stoats Nest and Cane Hill on 5 November 1899 between Purley and Earlswood. Closed in 1983. Good colour and shine with a couple of areas of restoration.

BR(W) Pocket Watch by Recta, Swiss Made'. Nickel case engraved on rear 'BR (W) 04571'. Good working condition.

Wagon Plate SE&CR 16312 Ashford Works, cast iron 10in x 6in. Absolutely original condition.

Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Signalman's Tensioner Tool with one-way ratchet. Handle stamped L&BR. Recovered from Exmouth Junction.

Worksplate Built 1961 Swindon, oval cast iron. The vendor kept comprehensive notes and shows this to be ex Class 42 'Warship' D870 ZULU. Restored with loco details to the rear. This was the last Warship built at Swindon.

LMS fully titled Bridge Restriction Sign, square on end with the Shropshire Union details 'SU Canal Section, Tower Wharf Chester' at the bottom. Totally unrestored measuring 18" x 18".

Negatives, approximately 170 medium format in two small wallets. Mostly ex GWR and LMS but there are others and all date 1936/37. Quality isn't good, some grainy and out of focus but there are some gems and all are a good record of the pre-war era. T he pockets are indexed but mismatched and there is no guarantee as to accuracy.

Nameplate MYTTON HALL. Ex GWR 4-6-0 'Hall' Class locomotive, built Swindon June 1940 and numbered 5996. First and August 1950 shed allocations Old Oak Common. March 1959 shed allocation Southall. Last shed allocation Wolverhampton Oxley from where wi thdrawal took place in August 1962. Scrapped at Swindon Works. This is the right-hand plate so stamped on the rear. The original BR Swindon receipt accompanies.

Carriage Print Ribblehead Viaduct, Yorkshire by Kenneth Steel from the LMR Railway Architecture Series.

LMS enamel Trespass Sign, white lettering on black ground measuring 22in x 18in. Good colour and shine with a few repaired chips.

Shedplate 62C Dunfermline 1950 until 1966. Clean ex loco.

Totem BR(W) KIDWELLY, half flanged. Ex GWR station in Carmarthenshire between Pembrey & Burry Port and Ferryside. Some face chips outside of lettering and a few other marks but a very scarce totem nevertheless, only once at auction before 20 years a go.

Worksplate North British Railway No 23936 dated 1929, brass diamond shape. Ex GWR 5700 class 0-6-0PT number 7740. Primarily an Aberbeeg loco, it was withdrawn in 1960. Strangely, the accompanying official BR Swindon receipt shows the loco to be ex 77 46.

LNER red painted Handlamp bearing a brass plate LOCO DEPT LINCOLN and a steel plate stamped BREAKDOWN TRAIN. Tastefully restored.

BR(S) enamel Doorplate SEASON TICKETS, fully flanged 18in x 6in. Small, expert repair to L/H corner.

Cabside Numberplate 2241. Ex GWR Collett designed 0-6-0 locomotive built March 1945 and allocated to Worcester. Moved to Hereford in May 1958 and was withdrawn from there in February 1964. Cast iron construction, face restored.
