GWR Castle Class Single Chimney ex 5010 Restormel Castle. The loco was built at Swindon in July 1927 and allocated to Old Oak Common for Paddington expresses over the ex GWR system. Allocations were numerous with final depot of Reading. Was quite an early withdrawal in January 1959. To be sold from site in Kent.

Original Painting by acclaimed artist Frank Johnson (1917-1998). Depicting Stanier Coronation Pacific 46238 CITY OF CARLISLE in the roundhouse with other locos and a few railway workers in the scene. His work shows the 'kitchen sink' art movement wit h everyday workers in their work environment. It was exhibited frequently throughout his life, particularly in Yorkshire. It was included in the ‘Four Artists’ exhibition at Bradford City Art Gallery in 1961 and in this year was exhibited in Yugoslavia at The Museum of Modern Art. His portraits were shown in the ‘Face to Face’ exhibition held at the Huddersfield Sports Centre Gallery in 1981 and examples of his work are in Cartwright Hall, Bradford, Leeds City Art Gallery and Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Glasgow. The following 5 lots are by the same artist. He was featured in the ‘175 Heroes of Bradford’ exhibition at Bradford College, 2008.

Cabside Numberplate 6981. Ex GWR 'modified' Hall Class locomotive MARBURY HALL. Built Swindon before nationalisation but introduced in February 1948 after nationalisation. Initially allocated to Weston-S-Mare, it moved shortly after to St Philips Mar sh where it remained until withdrawal in March 1964. Ex loco condition

Final entry is July 1912 for the GW & Midland Officers Conference.

Ex Gresley J38 class 0-4-0 locomotive originally numbered 1447, later 5934 and finally 65934 under BR. Allocated primarily to Dunfer mline. Withdrawn from there in December 1926. Face restored, rear ex loco.
GWR brass Cabside Numberplate 4207. Ex GWR 2-8-0 locomotive built Swindon February 1912. Allocations include Duffryn Yard and Cardiff Canton. Withdrawn October 1961 after almost 50 years of service. Face tastefully restored, rear ex loco. Rim stamped with Engine Class and Boiler Class.
Shedplate 66A Polmadie until March 1972, totally ex loco condition with original green paint on face.
