Diesel worksplate BUILT BY THE BIRMINGHAM RAILWAY CARRIAGE & WAGON CO LTD SMETHWICK ENGLAND 1960 SERIAL NO DEL 104, ex BR Class 33 numbered D6512/33011 which was withdrawn from Eastleigh in March 1989. Rectangular chromed brass in ex loco condition.
GER/LNER 3 aspect sliding knob handlamps x4: one dated 1929 missing coloured glasses; one GER 1909 with cracked front glass and missing blue glass; one unmarked example brass plated LAMP MANUFACTURING CO LONDON which is complete; and one dated 1931 m issing coloured glasses.
GWR brass cabside numberplate 1447 ex Collett 0-4-2T. Built at Swindon in 1935 and numbered 4847, renumbered 1447 in 1946. Allocations included 81F Oxford, 89A Oswestry, 81B Slough, 88B Radyr, 89B Croes Newydd and 86C Hereford from where it was withd rawn in March 1964. Cut up at Swindon Works in July 1964. Face restored and rear original.
Taff Vale Railway brass permanent way whistle, stamped on the side T.V.R. PWAY 163 and stamped on the lip THE ACME THUNDERER. J.Hudson & Co Barr St Birmingham.
GWR/BR-W wooden carriage board PLYMOUTH[MILLBAY] - MANCHESTER [LONDON ROAD] painted black on white and measuring 32in long. In good condition complete with original metal ends.
Great Eastern Railway oak framed bevel edged mirror with GER clearly etched into the centre and brass hanging hook stamped GER. Measures 14.5in x 18.5in. In very good condition.
Worksplate THE HUNSLET ENGINE CO LTD LEEDS No3724 1954 ex GWR/BR-W 0-6-0PT 9494. The building of this locomotive was sub-contracted out by Hunslet to the Yorkshire Engine Company (YE2548-1954) but it carried Hunslet plates. Sheds included Cardiff and Aberbeeg and was withdrawn in 1964 and scrapped by Cashmores of Newport. Oval cast brass complete with GWS Bill Peto full fact sheet.
BR(E) enamel sign SOUTHEND SHOEBURYNESS with right facing arrow measuring 48in x 18in. In very good condition probably ex Leigh On Sea Station on the London, Tilbury and Southend Line.
LNER Loco headlamp stamped in the chimney LNER. Complete with reservoir, burner, reflector, and red and purple flip over lenses, as used on the locos that travelled out of Liverpool St Station on the suburban services.
GWR cast iron signal box board TOWYN SIGNAL BOX measuring 60in x 4.75in. Face restored, a nice manageable size.
BR(E) enamel direction sign STATION with BRITISH RAILWAYS in totem and right facing arrow. Measures 21in x 10.5in and is in very good condition with some minor edge chipping.
Shedplate 88A CARDIFF CATHAYS 1950-1957, RADYR 1957-1961 and CARDIFF CANTON 1961-1963. Face lightly restored.
BR enamel doorplate BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE ONLY measuring 23.5in x 2in. In excellent condition with small chips around the screw holes.
LMS oak cased mantel railway clock. The 3.5in silvered dial is marked ENFIELD LMS 17165, the case also has a BR-WR numberplate 4904 pinned to the underneath. The going barrel movement has recently been cleaned and oiled and is in good working conditi on. The case measures 5in tall x 6in wide x 3.5in deep. A delightful small clock from the Gloucester/Worcester Midland Railway lines that were transferred over to the Western Region of British Railways.
LMS Hawkseye KNOTTINGLEY (FOR FERRY BRIDGE) from the former Lancashire & Yorkshire and Great Northern Railway Joint station between Pontefract and Doncaster. Cast aluminium in two halves each measuring 53.5in long, in ex station condition. A rare sig n.

GWR Tyers No9 single line steel key token FOUR CROSSES - POOL QUAY, configuration C, has been repainted.

GWR brass cabside numberplate 6667 ex Collett 0-6-2 T built by Armstrong Whitworth in 1928. Allocations included 84F Stourbridge Junction and 84E Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in November 1965. Scrapped at Birds Long Marston in May 1966. Face r estored.
Totem BR(S) FF light green LONDON ROAD GUILDFORD from the former LSWR station between Guildford and London. In good condition with a couple of minor areas of restoration. One of only two totems that carries lower case lettering.
A pair of LNER handlamps: one 2 aspect embossed LNER LOCO and brass plated H.V. TAYLOR GRANTHAM; the other a 4 aspect with original sign writing BOSTON on the side. Both complete with all glasses, reservoirs and burners.
BR(M) enamel double royal poster board heading BRITISH RAILWAYS in full. Measures 27in x 5.75in and is in very good condition with minor chips to corners.
Worksplate NEILSON & CO GLASGOW 5027 1896 ex GNR J52 0-6-0ST No1056 LNER 4056/8793 BR 68793. Sheds included Hornsey, Frodingham, Doncaster, Ardsley and New England and was withdrawn in 1956 and scrapped at Doncaster Works the same year. Oval cast bra ss, a great survivor.
London Transport enamel frieze sign LANCASTER GATE. Measures 72in x 9in and is in good condition with some small edge chipping.
A pair of carriage prints; WESTMILL HERTFORDSHIRE by Claude Muncaster and TEMPLE BAR CHESHUNT by Claude Muncaster. Both from the LNER Post War Series and in original type frames, 20in x 10in.

A selection of BR cap badges to include; BR-W chrome totem Ticket Collector , BR-W fishtail Porter and BR(M) totem Porter are all in excellent condition. Another 6 badges have small amounts of damage. Also included are 2x BR(SC) sew on cap badges. I n total 11 items.
GWR Spagnoletti mahogany cased single faced block instrument. In excellent condition with flag moving freely and both knobs present. Face marked DOWN LINE and stamped GWR 523.
Station Hotel Perth silverplate egg cup clearly marked in the front STATION HOTEL PERTH in garter. In 'egg'cellent condition measures 2in tall. The Station Hotel Perth was operated jointly by The North British, Highland and Caledonian Railway Compani es.

BR(SC) enamel TRESPASS sign THE RAILWAY EXECUTIVE WARNING etc. In virtually mint condition measures 5in x 4in.
London Transport enamel sign LIFTS ALL TICKETS TO BE SHOWN AT THE BARRIER PLEASE. Measures 24in x 18in and is in very good condition, still in original wooden frame.
GWR cast iron platform seat ends x2, early script style. They have been restored at some point and measure the correct 32 inches top to bottom.
LNER cast iron doorplate GAS METER. Face restored, rear original measures 19in x 3.5in. An uncommon doorplate.
Shedplate 82C SWINDON 1950-1973; with sub sheds ANDOVER JUNCTION to 1952, CHIPPENHAM to 1964, MALMESBURY to 1951 and MARLBOROUGH to 1961. Face lightly restored.
Smokebox numberplate 4675 ex Collett 0-6-0P T built at Swindon in 1944. Allocations included 88C Barry, 88D Merthyr Tydfil and 87F Llanelly from where it was withdrawn in June 1965 and scrapped the same year at T.W. Ward Britton Ferry. Basically in e x loco condition.
Somerset and Dorset Railway 10-inch oak cased iron dial railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied by one of the Midland railway clock suppliers circa 1880. The quality early English fusee movement in recently cleaned and overhauled condition has rectangular plates which are held together by turned shaped pillars, all of these features point to a movement made in the period 1870 to 1890. The White enamel painted dial rewritten by the Western region of British Railways, displaying bold Roman numerals and the legend BR-W, the case is made from English oak and retains its original LMS brass oval numberplate 10770, this number puts it in a batch of S&DJR clocks from LMS number 15xx to 108xx. A rare timepiece from a famous line. In full working condition complete with pendulum and keys.
Nameplate ERRIGAL ex Great Northern Railway (Ireland) Class S 4-4-0 built by Beyer Peacock Manchester in 1913 as serial number 5628 and numbered GNRI 170. It was transferred to Córas Iompair Eireann ownership in 1958, the loco was withdrawn and the n ameplate offered for sale by The Ulster Transport Authority. The official receipt for £15 accompanies the lot. Curved engraved brass with original wax filling to the letters.(See next lot.)

Worksplate LMS NCC 1930 BELFAST. LMS pattern oval cast brass, face cleaned and repainted. Possibly of BNCR Class S 2-4-2T No 101 which was rebuilt in 1930 at York Road.
Totem BR(M) FF NORTHOLT PARK from the former Great Central Railway station between Sudbury Hill and Northolt Junction. In good condition with one chip to the bottom and discolouration to the white, complete with original brackets. A very rare totem t hat has only ever appeared twice at auction, the last time being 22 years ago.
LMS LNWR pattern 3 aspect handlamp stamped LMSR C&W DEPT WOLVERTON on the reducing cone and LMSR WOL A37482 on the side. Complete with LMS reservoir and burner and all glasses. Together with a LNWR brass cased Acetylene lamp marked LNWR 3 times on th e side.
Southern Railway enamel target sign CLAPHAM JUNCTION from the famous London station between Victoria and Crystal Palace. Measures 28in long and is mounted on a backboard. In good condition with one small area of restoration.

Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY GLASGOW No26208 1948 ex LNER B1 4-6-0 61307. Sheds included Kittybrewster, Keith, Thornton Junction and Edinburgh St Margarets from where it was withdrawn in November 1966, cut up at Motherwell Machinery a nd scrapped in 1967. Diamond shaped cast brass.
London Transport enamel roundel sign PICCADILLY CIRCUS. Measures 25in x 25in and is in very good condition.
Birmingham Canal Navigations cast iron Bridge Notice in original condition as removed from a bridge in Tividale between Dudley and Oldbury. Measures 34in x 19in.
Diesel worksplate BUILT 1964 SWINDON ex Class 14 0-6-0 No D9506. First allocated to 85A Worcester and withdrawn in March 1968 from 86A Cardiff Canton. Cut up at Arnott Young Rawmarsh in July 1968. Oval cast aluminium, face lightly cleaned.
Midland and Great Northern Railway cast iron bridge plate M&GN 260. Bridge 262 was an elliptical over bridge north west of Drayton Station on the Norwich to Melton Constable line.
Original oil painting on canvas FIRTH OF CLYDE by Frank H Mason, similar to the Firth of Clyde carriage print by the marine & poster artist. Signed and dated 1947 by the artist and in a frame with art work measuring 30in x 20in. Provenance - Bonhams Edinburgh.
Carriage Print BEVERLEY MINSTER, YORKSHIRE by Sidney Causer R.W.S. from the LNER Post War Series, 1947. In excellent condition in a original type glazed frame measures 20in x 10in.
Great Eastern Railway Sykes Lock and Block mahogany cased instrument for PARK with brass plaque makers plate W R SYKES. Park signal box was later renamed Northumberland Park in 1923. This instrument was retained at the Stratford S&T store and was purchased by the vendor when it closed. In original condition and appears complete, rare to see a GER instrument of this type.
French locomotive headlamp from the former SNCF steam depot at Bordeaux St. Louis, the principal station that linked Bordeaux to Le Verdon, a line that closed completely in 1978, the line having been shortened by 900 metres in 1968. Standing a full 2 2in tall, with a front lens diameter of 11in, this, ex-service condition headlamp is complete with copper chimney and brass embellishments. Brass plated BORDEAUX St. LOUIS and S.N.C.F. 3715 4, the lamp retains its original paraffin reservoir, burner and glass “funnel” along with its oval brass makers plate DUVRIERS FERBLANTIE.

Totem BR(SC) FF HILLINGTON EAST from the former Caledonian and Glasgow & South Western Railway station between Cardonald and Paisley. In very good condition, this is the sole survivor from this station, previously sold in 1995.
