GWR/BR-W wooden carriage board NEWQUAY - PAR. Painted straw on maroon and measuring 32in long, in good condition complete with original metal ends.
A large selection of approximately 700 London and South Western Railway luggage labels; white, yellow, blue and green versions noted. All mounted with photo corners in plastic sleeves and in a lever arch album. Together with another album of railway paperwork including SER, GCR, LNER, SECR, MSL, GNR and GWR.
Smokebox numberplate 48467 ex Stanier 8F 2-8-0 built at Swindon Works in 1945. Allocated to 5B Crewe South, 20D Normanton, 15A Wellingborough, 15B Kettering, 15E Coalville, 15A Leicester Midland, 8A Edge Hill and 9H Patricroft from where it was withd rawn in June 1968. Scrapped in January 1969 at Cohens Kettering. In restored condition.
GWR etched glass lamp tablet RODWELL from the former Joint GWR and LSWR station closed in 1952 between Portland and Weymouth. A rare survivor. Measures 16in x 2.25in and is in good condition with a clean break.
Signal box diagram HENWICK STATION from the box between Newland East and Rainbow Hill (Worcester). Paper on linen and dated 27-8-62 and issued by BR WR Signal and Telecommunications Eng Dept Reading. In excellent condition measuring 52in x 17in.
Nameplate DAVID AUSTIN-CARTOONIST ex High Speed Train class 43 43021. Named 22/02/2007 and removed in 2018. Cast aluminium in ex loco condition measures 65in x 10in. Sold on behalf of Great Western Railways in aid of their nominated Charity and comes with an official certificate confirming the original owner.
GWR mahogany cased Block Bell with cowbell and front tapper. In excellent ex box condition.
Southern Railway enamel doorplate LADIES ROOM. In good condition with minor chipping, measures 18in x 6in.
Nameplate SIR RALPH VERNEY ex Metropolitan Railway 1200 Hp electric locomotive number 3 Built in 1921 by Metropolitan-Vickers. Named after Sir Ralph Verney who became Lord Mayor of London in 1645. The Verney family were involved in the building of Ra ilways which became part of the Metropolitan railway around 1900 with Verney Junction taking the family name. The fleet of 20 locos originally carried brass nameplates which were removed for the war effort although some from the class survived. Cast aluminium plates were fitted after the war circa 1955 and the loco was withdrawn on 29/1/62, cut up by Cashmores of Newport within Ruislip depot during May 1965. The other nameplate was presented by LT to the Verney family for display at Claydon House near Bletchley, the house being presented to the National Trust back in 1956. The locomotives were used for trains between The City, Baker Street and Rickmansworth, where steam took over for the journey to Aylesbury. They are by far the oldest named main line electric locos. In face restored condition measures 45.5in x 6in.
Diesel worksplate GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION Designed & Manufactured with Alstom Assembled at: Valencia, Spain. MODEL JT42HW-HS, SERIAL 968742-23, Class 67, DATE 03-00 ex class 67 67023. Rectangular stainless steel in ex loco condition and measures 1 2in x 4in. One from the last batch of the 30 locomotives built.
London Underground enamel frieze sign PICCADILLY LINE. In good condition with minor chipping, measures 22in x 9in.
GWR cast iron cabside 9709 ex Collett 0-6-0 PT built at Swindon in December 1933. This was one of ten of the class that were built with Condensing Apparatus for use on the London Transport Metropolitan Line. Shedded at 81A Old Oak Common all its life from where it was withdrawn in May 1962 and cut up four months later at Cashmores Newport. Face restored, a rare chance to obtain a cabside from a condensing loco.
Shedplate 21C Bromsgrove 1950-1958 and Bushbury 1960-1963. Face lightly restored, rear original.
London Chatham and Dover Railway small Inspectors 3 aspect handlamp stamped in the side LCDR No16 and brass plated on the reducing cone SE&CR G No6748. Also has a large brass ASHFORD triangular plate. The original reservoir is also stamped LCDR No16. Complete but with both glasses suffering from cracks. A rare lamp, stands 10in tall.
Southern Railway Carriage Print HARDY COUNTRY, STINSFORD [DORSET] by Donald Maxwell from the Original Southern Railway series, issued in 1936. Framed and glazed, print measures 14in x 9in. In very good condition with a little water staining to mount. A very scarce print.
BR(S) dark green Quad Royal enamel poster board heading BRITISH RAILWAYS in full. Measures 52.75in x 5.75in and is in excellent condition.
GWR cast iron signal box board TOWYN SIGNAL BOX measuring 60in x 4.75in. Face restored, a nice manageable size.
A pair of GWR cast iron plates GWR ENGINE OIL and GWR CLEANING OIL. Both with original paint and both measure 6in x 3.5in.
Totem BR(M) FF THATTO HEATH from the former London and North Western Railway station between Eccleston Park and St Helens Central. This has been face drilled for wall mounting. In good condition.
London and South Western Railway 8 inch Mahogany cased iron dial fusee clock with a cast brass bezel supplied to the LSWR circa 1893 by John Gaydon of Barnstaple. The quality English fusee movement with rectangular plates held together by turned tape red pillars, is in fully restored condition. The white enamel painted dial has been restored to its pre grouping dial writing L&SWR Jno GAYDON BARNSTAPLE 128 the case is stamped 128 in the back and also the bezel hinge has 128 stamped in it, these were applied by John Walker. The Southern Railway clock records show that this was supplied in 1893 by John Gaydon at a cost of £2-17-6d and was last recorded in use at Rye Platform and previously Winchelsea Snailham Crossing, the clock must have moved from the West Country very soon after the 1923 grouping. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key and DR D.R. Parr sheet detailing the clocks provenance and restoration and a copy of the SR clock record.
Caledonian Railway presentation silver Snuff Box engraved to the top PRESENTED WITH A GOLD WATCH & APPENDAGES ALSO A PURSE OF SOVEREIGNS TO MR THOMAS YARROW MANAGER OF THE CALEDONIAN RAILWAY WORKS GREENOCK BY THE WORKMEN AND A FEW OF HIS FRIENDS AS A TOKEN OF THEIR RESPECT FOR HIS PRIVATE WORTH AND MANY GOOD QUALITIES GREENOCK MAY 6TH 1854. Measures 3in x 2in and is hallmarked Birmingham 1854 N.M. In excellent condition.

Smokebox numberplate 30247 ex Drummond M7 0-4-4 T built at Nine Elms in 1897. Allocated to 72E Barnstaple Junction for most of its post war life, it was withdrawn from there in October 1961 and scrapped at Eastleigh. Cleaned a long time ago.

Great Western Railway Benevolent Fund mahogany collection box with original enamel sign VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS IN AID OF THE GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY WIDOWS AND ORPHANS BENEVOLENT FUND. Complete with original lock and key, both hinges and lock are stam ped GWR. The Benevolent Fund was started in the mid 19th century and this probably dates from the later part of the same century. In excellent condition, a rare item.
Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY LTD GLASGOW No25235 1943 ex WD 2-8-0 numbered 7364, 77364 and 90259. Allocated to New England, 40E Langwith Junction and Colwick. Withdrawn in October 1965 and scrapped at Drapers Hull in 1966. Diamond shap ed cast brass, lightly face cleaned.

It is perhaps no wonder this is the rarest of all GWR Jigsaws, issued only to staff in the Goods Departments, it is known to have been rejected by them as intimidating and many were simply confined to the fire! This one is in excellent condition and the box is extremely good.

Nameplate PENDENNIS CASTLE ex Class 57 diesel 57604 named 28/02/2004 and removed in 2018. Cast aluminium in ex loco condition measures 65.5in x 10in,together with its cast aluminium numberplate 57604 which measures 21.5in x 7in. Built at Brush in Aug ust 1965 and numbered D1859 the 47209 it was re numbered 57604 in February 2004. Sold on behalf of Great Western Railways in aid of their nominated Charity and comes with an official certificate confirming the original owner.
North London Railway 12 inch mahogany cased English fusee railway clock supplied to the railway in 1852 by Thwaites & Reed of Clerkenwell london. The case with a one piece turned convex surround, cast brass bezel secured by a bezel lock, one side doo r and a bottom door secured by a brass catch is branded NLR Y twice and has an LMS brass numberplate 12289 pinned to it. The original dial is lettered N.L.R.Y THWAITES & REED CLERKENWELL and retains its original brass Thwaites hands. The brass chain driven movement has rectangular plates which are stamped on the front plate T&R 12289, this dates the clock from the Thwaites records to 1852. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key. A stunning clock from one of the top London makers.
Totem BR(E) HF WESTCLIFF-ON-SEA from the former London Tilbury and Southend Railway station between Leigh-On-Sea and Southend Central. A rare totem that has never appeared at auction before and wasn't known to have survived the mid 1950's resigning o f this station. It is probably the sole survivor as it was acquired by a member of staff. In good condition with a few small chips.
Nameplate INYALA ex LNER Thompson B1 4-6-0 61016 built at Darlington in January 1947. Allocated initially to York (North) then 50B Neville Hill, 52A Gateshead, 56C Copley Hill (Leeds), 56D Mirfield and withdrawn from 56F Low Moor in October 1965. Scr apped at Hughes Bolckows in December 1965. Face restored, a nice manageable plate.

Rectangular cast aluminium, face restored, rear original with 47049 stamped in the top.
