A STEAM ROLLER brass owners plate. W.W. BUNCOMBE HIGHBRIDGE SOMERSET. TEL.12. A lovely old plate in unrestored condition taken from a steamroller owned by Walter William Buncombe of Highbridge who hired out steam rollers to use with the construction of roads and Highways in Somerset. WW Buncombe of Highbridge owned at one time over 150 steam rollers in it's yard next to the River Brue in Huntspill Road. It's telephone number of 12 suggest a thriving business in Edwardian times. A garage now occupies the site.

A lot containing a collection of 13 BRW traffolite signal box lever plates. 11 recovered from the READING MAIN LINE WEST or EAST BOX when closed during the early 1960s when the new colour light signalling was installed together with an interesting co llection of memos detailing slip working and the experimental trials of the new 1947 block instrument and suggested modifications required before general use. An interesting Lot for any GWR signalling enthusiast.
2 x BR(W) bakelite plungers recovered from READING MAIN LINE WEST BOX. One with ivorine plate 183 together with other signal box plates also recovered from Reading ML West signal box.
