North Eastern Railway signal box telephone. Mahogany cased with integral mouthpiece, bakelite earpiece, bell and Morse tapper, the case is stamped in the bottom N.E.R. 2593. In very good condition measures 22in x 7in.

Worksplate HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO LTD RAILWAY FOUNDRY LEEDS No 946 1911 ex Rhymney Railway A Class 0-6-2 T originally numbered RR 15 and GWR 57. Allocated to Barry and 88A Cardiff Cathays from where it was withdrawn in April 1952 and scrapped. Loze nge shaped engraved brass measuring 11.5in x 5.25in. Lightly cleaned with 57 stamped in the rear.
Nameplate, ROOD ASHTON HALL, ex GWR Collett Hall Class 4-6-0 No 4965 built at Swindon in 1929 and named after the country house at West Ashton near Trowbridge in Wiltshire, once the residence of GWR Director Viscount Long. Allocated to St Philips Mar sh, Penzance, Laira, Reading and 81E Didcot from where it was withdrawn in March 1962 and officially recorded as cut up at Swindon Works in the week ending 28 April 1962. Subsequently it was discovered that, following an exchange of parts between 4965 and sister engine 4983 Albert Hall, it was 4983 scrapped at Swindon. 4965 eventually found its way to Woodham Bros at Barry from where it was acquired for preservation and now resides at Tyseley. In lovely original condition.
Hull & Barnsley cast iron signal finial cast in the base H&BR EOD & CO LTD (Evans O’Donnell) Chippenham. In restored condition, stands 24in tall.
BR(S) FF enamel signal box board BRAMLEY from the former Great Western Railway box on the line between Mortimer and Basingstoke. In very good condition with a few minor edge chips. Measures 54in x 12in.

Central Forest of Dean Railway cast iron mile post marked C.F.D.R. 2 1/2 (MILES) ex Blakeney. Comes complete with a photograph of it in situ and original British Railways receipt dated 25-7-1969 and a copy of a map showing its location. Stands 70in t all. NOTE due to the size and weight (2 man lift) this sign will not be on view at the auction and will have to be collected by the successful purchaser from our Evesham office and will be available from 6.30pm on the day of the auction.
Diesel worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE CO LTD THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD No 27848 1959 ex British Railways Class 21 numbered D6118. Allocated to 30A Stratford and withdrawn from 65A Eastfield in December 1967. Scrapped the following year at J. McWilliam Shettleston. Diamond shaped cast aluminium measures 14.25in x 6.25in, face restored.

Allocated to Neath (Court Sart) and 87B Duffryn Yard from where it was withdrawn in October 1962. Scrapped the following year at R.S.Hayes Bridgend. Oval cast brass measuring 13in x 8.5in. A rare worksplate.
GWR brass cabside numberplate 4076 ex Collett Castle 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1924 and named Carmarthen Castle. Allocations included Old Oak Common, Bristol Bath Road, Carmarthen, Landore, Exeter, Swindon, Newton Abbot, Chester and 87F Llanelly from where it was withdrawn in February 1963. Scrapped later the same year at R.S.Hayes Bridgend. In partly restored condition.

Allocated to Pontypool Road and 88E Abercynon from where it was withdrawn in M arch 1957 and scrapped. In lovely original condition.

Smokebox numberplate 32353 ex LB&SCR Billington 2-6-0 built at Brighton in 1921. Allocated to 75E Three Bridges for most of its working life and was withdrawn from there in December 1962. Scrapped a year later at Eastleigh Works. Face restored wi th BR(S) E Triangle in the back. Comes with some magazine pictures of the loco.
Brass Cabside plate KPEV (Koniglich Preubische Eisenbahn-Verwaltung) Prussian State Railways depicting the Imperial Eagle. Measures 246mm diameter and has the correct recessed back which has been cleaned. Note this is different to the other one offer ed in this sale.
Worksplate PECKETT & SONS LTD BRISTOL No 1934 1937 ex 0-4-0 ST supplied new to Barrow Haematite Steel Co Ltd Barrow In Furness. Oval engraved brass, in as removed condition, measures 15in x 8.5in.
Caledonian Railway mahogany cased 14 inch dial weight driven regulator railway clock supplied to the Caledonian Railway in the latter part of the 19th century. The original dial has had some light restoration, the large brass rectangular plated movem ent has four spoke wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power, wooden pendulum rod with cylindrical brass bob, weight, and key, complete but untested but was in use daily until consignment. In nicely restored condition stands 61.5in tall x 18.5in wide.

Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK GORTON LTD MANCHESTER SERIAL No8017 1964 ex BR Diesel Class 17 D8600. Allocated new to 52A Gateshead and withdrawn from 64B Haymarket in October 1971. Scrapped 2 years later at BREL Glasgow. Rectangular cast aluminium, face r estored, measures 12.25in x 5.25in. A rare plate as only 29 of the Class were built by Beyer Peacock.

LNER enamel cab shedplate DF'LINE (Dunfermline). Black on white enamel in good condition with some edge restoration. Measures 10in x 1.5in.
BR(E) enamel poster board heading BRITISH RAILWAYS (with the large lettering). Measures 51.5in x 5.75in and is in excellent condition.
GWR brass cabside numberplate GWR 3015 ex Robinson Rod 2-8-0 built by North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1919 for the Railway Operating Division. Later purchased by the GWR and allocated to 87G Carmarthen from where it was withdrawn in Octob er 1958. Scrapped the following month at Swindon Works. Face restored with clear Class and boiler stampings in the rim.
Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COY LTD GLASGOW HYDE PARK WORKS No 19048 1909 ex 0-4-0 ST supplied to John Watson Ltd, Eddlewood Colliery Hamilton Scotland and numbered No1. Circular cast brass, in as removed condition, measures 7.75in diameter.
CLC mahogany cased Signal Repeater, dial marked CHESHIRE LINES. Brass plated CHESHIRE LINES and fibre plated MAIN DISTANT. Stands 8in tall and is in ex railway condition. A rare instrument.
LMS upright hooter locomotive whistle as fitted to the Ivatt Class 2 2-6-2T locomotives. Stands 14in tall as acquired from Eastleigh works so probably from one of the Southern region class 2 tanks in the number range 41290-41319. As removed condition .
Great Western Railway 12 inch dial Rosewood cased fusee drop dial clock circa 1850. The quality English fusee movement has rectangular plates with shaped shoulders, which are held together by turned and shaped pillars. The Rosewood case has Brass and ebony inlay with an integral drop to the surround and is of typical early 19th century Salt Box design with one side door and a bottom door secured by a brass lock. The enamel screen printed iron dial with Roman numerals and GWR is in good condition, this process was used in the 1920's and was short lived. This clock is featured in the Railway Clock book by Ian Lyman Page 83 Fig 3.89 and was sold by the London auction house Bonham's sometime in the 1980's. One of only 4 known survivors of this type of clock and all four show detail differences, so this one is probably unique. Has been tested for a few hours and appears to be in working condition with pendulum and key.
Smokebox numberplate 7005 ex GWR Collett Castle 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1946 and named Lamphey Castle, renamed Sir Edward Elgar in August 1957. Allocated to 85A Worcester from where it was withdrawn in September 1964. Scrapped the following year at Cohens Morriston Swansea. In lovely original condition.
HST Intercity left hand facing Swallow as fitted to the British Railways Class 43 HST Power Cars. Stainless steel, measures 32in x 34in. In as removed condition.

Nameplate set BARNSTAPLE ex Southern Railway Bullied Light Pacific 4-6-2 built at Brighton in 1945 and numbered 21C105 and later 34005. Allocations included Exmouth Junction, Nine Elms, Stewarts Lane, Bricklayers Arms, Salisbury and 70F Bournemouth f rom where it was withdrawn in October 1966. Scrapped the following year at Buttigiegs Newport. The nameplate and scroll have been face restored and the enamel Town Coat Of Arms has had a small chip expertly repaired. A rare chance to obtain one of the best West Country names. The other side belongs to Barnstaple Town Council.
