British Railways Midland Region 4in dial mantle clock by Smiths Of England. The original dial is lettered BR(M) 22194 and housed in a Bakelite case. In nice original condition and working. A nice little railway clock. measures 7.5in x 5.5in.
London & North Western Railway 3.75in dial brass Drum Clock. The original dial is lettered L&NWR and the movement is stamped with the makers name HAC Wurttemberg and housed in a brass drum case which in turn is housed in its original wooden c ase. A BR-WR ivorine clock numberplate 4242 is screwed to the right hand side which indicates the clock was taken into Western Region stock at some point. A nice example in working condition, much rarer than the GWR drum clocks.
North Eastern Railway 8 inch steel cased railway clock supplied by Seth Thomas of Connecticut America circa 1900. The original dial is lettered BR(NE) 7077. The Seth Thomas movement is of the marine type with twin going barrels and is in working cond ition. The LNER clock records show this clock as last being in use at Hull King George Dock Salt End Pier. Measures 9.25in dia x 4in and comes complete with a key.
Great Northern & Great Eastern Railway 12in dial teak cased railway clock with a cast brass bezel secured with a bezel lock, and a chain driven English fusee movement with large rectangular plates. Supplied by John walker of London around 1865. T he restored dial is lettered GN&GE J Ry and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock, the rear of the dial has its LNER number 2165 painted on the back and various repair dates and marks. The LNER records show the clock as last being in use at Postland Station booking hall and was removed when the station closed in 1961. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. This clock was restored and retailed by Dr D.R. Parr and his label is pasted onto the inside of the back box.
Great Western Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement with shaped shoulders and turned pillars. The mahogany trunk case with lenticle window has a segmented wooden surround, two si de access doors and a bottom door with the lock removed and replaced with a brass turn. The GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 2178 is screwed to the left hand side of the case. The dial is in original condition with GWR in the block style. Circa 1870-80, in working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.
North London Railway 12in dial mahogany cased railway clock with supplied by Thwaites & Reed of Clerkenwell in 1868. The large rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement has typical Reed turned pillars with central rings and is stampe d on the front plate T&R 13813. The dial has been restored in the 1970's and some paint is now starting to flake and lift, the case has two side doors and a bottom door secured with a brass turn and is branded N.L.R. on the left hand side and stamped 13813 on the backbox indicating this was its LMS / BR(M) clock number in later service. In working order but not checked for accuracy and would certainly benefit from a clean complete with pendulum and key. A nice early clock by one of the top dial clock makers that would benefit with some further restoration.
Great Western Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement with shaped shoulders and turned pillars, segmented wooden surround, two side access doors and a bottom door with the lock rem oved and replaced with the standard GWR ball bearing catch. The GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 104 is screwed to the front of the case. The dial has been repainted at the GWR Clock works Reading post 1949 and displays BR-W. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key, the pendulum is also stamped GWR which is an unusual feature. Believed to have been last in use at Cardiff Queen street. Circa 1870.
Great Northern Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a cast brass bezel and a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement. Supplied to the GNR around 1870 by John Walker of London. The original dial displays G.N.R. 520 J.J. STOCKALL & SONS LTD LONDON and this dates to the early part of the 20th century when Stockall took over the GNR London area contract from Walkers and rewrote the dial with their details. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and is in nicely restored condition. The GNR and LNER clock record show this clock as having most or all of its life at Sandy station and was last in use at the Goods office. Restored and overhauled by Dr D.R. Parr and complete with comprehensive information sheets, In full working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. A rare chance to obtain a Great northern clock that has escaped subsequent dial rewrites.
Great Western Railway 12 inch oak cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock with a wire driven English fusee movement with shaped shoulders and turned pillars with central rings. The oak case with plain ears, spun brass bezel, two side access doors a nd a bottom door with the lock removed and replaced with a ball bearing catch and with the GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 2812 screwed to the left hand side. The dial has been lightly restored and shows GWR in the block style. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.
British Railways wooden totem sign Clock screen printed white on red measures 46.5in x 12in. These signs were usually to be found in the windows of BR accredited Travel Agents who sold railway tickets on a commission basis, however this one might hav e been used at a station as the normal wording of Buy your Tickets Here At Station Prices is absent and there is no evidence of it ever having been applied. The original 240v movement has been replaced with a good quality German quartz movement and is in full working condition.
London Brighton and South Coast Railway teak cased 18 inch dial weight driven regulator railway clock supplied to the LBSCR in 1889 at a cost of 11-0-0d by Grimshaw Baxter & Elliott Ltd of London. The original dial has been repainted by John Walk er post 1948 style and is numbered 309B the case is also stamped 309B, the large brass rectangular plated movement has four spoke wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power, metal pendulum rod, weight, weight pulley and key complete but untested. In mainly original ex station condition stands 82in tall x 23in wide. The Southern railway clock records show it spent its entire railway working life at Queen's Road (Peckham) Platform.
London Brighton & South Coast Railway 14in oak cased drop dial chisel bottom chain driven fusee railway clock. The oak chisel bottom case has one side door and a bottom door secured by a ball bearing catch and is stamped in the back 802B. The rec tangular plated chain driven fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial repainted post 1948 is lettered JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON 802B. The Southern clock records show that this clock was supplied by Grimshaw Baxter & Elliott Ltd to the London Brighton and South Coast Railway in 1891 at a cost of 4-5-0d and was last in railway service at Northfleet Station Platform. An impressive timepiece in working condition complete with pendulum and key.
Neath & Brecon Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock with a wire driven English fusee movement with shaped shoulders and turned pillars, one piece turned wooden surround, one side access doors and a bottom door secure d with a lock. The GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 31 is screwed to the front of the case. The dial has been repainted at the GWR Clock works Reading and displays G.W.R. in the early block style and is ghosted R. Webb Brecon. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. Circa 1870.
North British Railway 12in dial mahogany cased regulator railway wall clock. The rectangular plated movement has turned pillars, deadbeat escapement, Harrisons maintaining power, a wire line and a wooden pendulum rod with a brass cased bob and is in good clean condition. The original dial which has been lightly restored displays the makers name JAS RITCHIE & SON EDINBURGH who were one of the main suppliers of clocks to the North British Railway Company. The mahogany case is in nicely restored condition and stands 61in tall. A superb example In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum, key and weight.
Great Northern Railway 12in mahogany cased fusee railway clock supplied to the GNR circa 1880-1890. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good working condition. The dial has been repainted post 19 23 by the LNER clock workshops at Doncaster and now displays L.N.E.R. 9845. Its previous GNR clock number 1058 is stamped onto the back of the dial and also the spring barrel cover. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and retains its original cast brass bezel. The LNER clock records confirm that clock No 9845 was last in use at Woodhouse Mill Ground Frame Cabin. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.
Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway 12in dial mahogany cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a gut driven English fusee movement with rectangular screwed plates stamped W&H SCH which stands for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany. The original dial is lettered JOHN AGAR BOLTON LYR 1768 and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. A rare version of this maker with the later Bolton address, circa 1910.
GWR brass Drum Clock with original enamel dial lettered G.W.R. and stamped 5826 on the side and back of the case. The French movement has recently been cleaned and serviced and is in full working order, complete with key.
Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway 12in dial mahogany ebonised cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a wire driven English fusee movement with rectangular screwed plates probably supplied by Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach German y. The original dial is lettered LYR 3070 and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass catch. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. Ex Worcester Locomotive department and official BR receipt dated 7th August 1985 and a letter dated 28th November confirm this.
London & North Eastern Railway 5.5inch Mahogany cased Fusee Bracket clock supplied to the LNER circa 1930. The English chain driven fusee movement has rectangular screwed plates and is stamped Coventry Astral. The convex silvered dial has wax fil led numerals and LNER 1385. The mahogany case has boxwood stringing to the bottom a convex glass and brass bun feet. The L.N.E.R. clock records show that this clock was used at Liverpool Street Registrar Surveyors Office, Hamilton House. A nice and unusual Railway timepiece, complete with pendulum and keys and in working condition has just been oiled and the suspension spring replaced but not checked for accuracy. Measures 12in x 9.5in x 6in deep.
Cheshire Lines Committee 12in dial oak cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a going barrel movement with A shaped screwed plates stamped W&H SCH which stands for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany. The original dial i s lettered G.ECCLES & SON LIVERPOOL C.L.C. 277 and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. Circa 1900.
Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire mahogany cased 12 inch fusee railway clock with a large A frame chain driven English fusee movement in cleaned condition and stamped ex YRK 3 times. The restored dial lettered W. McFerran M.S.& L Victoria St Manchester, the rear reverse of the dial is painted BR(E) 9014 23/12/60 indicating the dial was rewritten with a British Railways dial repaint at Doncaster then. the Mahogany case has the original side flap door, bottom door secured with a ring pull catch and spun brass bezel. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Sheffield Victoria Foremans Carriage Claims Office and was sent to Rail Curios York in December 1982. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. Circa 1870.

GWR Carriage Panel from the GWR QUEEN VICTORIAS DIAMOND JUBILEE ROYAL TRAIN featuring views of WARWICK CASTLE and SHARPHAM ON THE DART. The carriage, built in 1897 by the GWR at Swindon, featured colour-tinted photographs by Photochrom. The panels ca me from coach 233 (now at Steam Museum, Swindon) and were superb and unique examples, constructed in sycamore and walnut hardwoods, with hand carved corner flutings and gilded surrounds. In excellent condition measures 22in x 11in.
