Great Western Railway cast iron signal box board CRANMORE SIGNAL BOX. From the former box between Shepton Mallet and Wanstrow. In as stored condition since removal measures 94in x 8.75in.
Midland Railway mahogany cased Rotary Block Instrument stamped in the top MRCo 1915. In original condition and complete with key for rear. Probably the best example we have seen, measures 18in tall.
Worksplate HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO LTD RAILWAY FOUNDRY LEEDS No D1085 1958 ex 0-6-0 DM which worked at the NCB Wellbeck Colliery Nottinghamshire and was numbered No2. Oval engraved brass in original condition measuring 12.75in x 8in.
Totem BR(M) FF BLENCOW from the former Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway station between Penrith and Keswick. In excellent condition. A rare totem which has only appeared once before at auction 22 years ago.
Worksplate LMS REBUILT 1920 ST ROLLOX probably from 57307 or 57268 which were both Caledonian Class 294 0-6-0 locomotives that survived in to British Rail ownership. Oval cast brass, face cleaned, measures 10.5in x 6in. St Rollox rebuilt plates are v ery rare.
Nameplate MERLIN + BADGE from the LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 LNER No 4486, 588 & 27 and BR No 60027. Built at Doncaster works in 1937 as works number 1851. Allocated new to Haymarket and St Rollox and finally 64A St Margarets from where it was withdrawn in September 1965 and scrapped at Campbells Shieldhall. Face restored a long time ago. A rare change to obtain a Bird A4 with badge and surely in the Pantheon of all nameplates. Neither nameplate has ever appeared publicly for sale before. See also the next Lot.
Smokebox numberplate 60027 ex Gresley A4 Merlin. Face restored rear with typical Doncaster casting marks. It has never appeared publicly for sale before. See previous lot.
GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 4629 ex Collett 0-6-0 PT built at Swindon in 1942. Allocated to Kidderminster and 85B Gloucester Horton Road from where it was withdrawn in September 1963 and scrapped later the same year at Swindon Works. Britton Fe rry. In original condition as stored since 1965.

Lozenge shaped engraved brass in totally as removed condition. Measures 11.5in x 5.25in.

Ex British Railways Class 37 numbered D6813 and 37113 in 1972, named Radio Highland in 1989 initially allocated to 41A Sheffield D arnall. Withdrawn in August 1995 and scrapped. Rectangular cast brass face cleaned rear with traces of chrome measures 10.125in x 4.5in.
London & South Western Railway 3 Aspect Handlamp stamped on the side and reducing cone L&SWR and brass plated L&SWR CO. Complete with original LSWR marked reservoir. All glasses intact and partially restored.

Worksplate DUBS & CO GLASGOW LOCOMOTIVE WORKS No 3685 1898 ex Highland Railway Drummond Small Ben Class 4-4-0 numbered HR1 and LMS 14397 allocated BR number 54397 but never carried, named Ben-Y-Gloe and renamed Ben Y'Gloe in 1939. Allocated to 60 A Inverness it was withdrawn in February 1949 and scrapped at Lochgorm Works. Diamond shaped cast brass measures 13.5in x 5.5in. Face restored.

Allocated to Bank Hall, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Southport, Carlisle Canal, Rose Grove, Fleetwood and 12A Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in A pril 1966 and scrapped at J. McWilliams, Shettleston. In restored condition.
Nameplate BEN NEVIS ex British Railways Class 60 Diesel 60029 built by Brush Traction Loughborough as works number 931 in 1990. Nameplates were applied when built and removed in August 1997 and the locomotive renamed Clitheroe Castle. Rectangular cas t aluminium in as removed condition measures 39.5in x 9.75in. One of the best mountain names in the class.
Nameplate PRINCESS MARGARET ex GWR Churchward Star Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1914 and numbered 4056. Allocated to Old Oak Common and 82A Bristol Bath Road from where it was withdrawn in October 1957 and scrapped at Swindon Works. In nicely rest ored condition. NOTE this was the last Star Class locomotive to be withdrawn.

Allocated to Laira and 81A Old Oak Common from where it was withdrawn in September 1962 and scrapped at Cashmore's (Newport). In nicely face restored condition with boiler and class details stamped in the rim, and this is the right hand side plate.

East Coast Joint Stock copper water carrying Can stamped on the top ECJS 105. In excellent condition stands 17in tall. An unusual and rare survivor. The stock was owned jointly by the GNR, NER and NBR.

Diesel locomotive flame cut cabside panel 37904 ex British Railways Diesel Class 37 built by Robert Stevenson & Hawthorn in 1963 and numbered D6825. Renumbered 37125 in 1974 and 37904 in 1987 when it was fitted with a Mirrlees engine. The locomot ive was scrapped at Booths Rotherham in November 2004 and a photo accompanies showing the panel removed from the locomotive. In very good condition measuring 32in x 20in.
Worksplate YORKSHIRE ENGINE CO LIMITED MEADOW HALL WORKS SHEFFIELD No 2815 1960 ex British Railways Class 02 0-4-0 Diesel Hydraulic D2856 and 02004 in 1974. Allocated new to 27A Bank Hall and withdrawn from Allerton in June 1975 and sold to Redland R oadstone Mountsorrel and scrapped in September 1978. Oval cast brass in as removed condition measuring 11in x 6in. A rare plate from a class of 20 and one of only three to receive a tops number.

Oval cast brass face restored, measures 9in x 5.25in.

Cast aluminium, face restored over original paint, rear cleaned.
Nameplate RIVER KIAGBODO ex Nigerian Railway River Class 2-8-2 steam locomotive number 171 built by The Vulcan Foundry in 1950 as works number 26817. Rectangular cast brass face restored measures 64in x 9in.
Smokebox numberplate 90203 ex Riddles WD 2-8-0 built by the North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1943 as works number 25108 and numbered WD 7237 and later WD 77237. Allocated to March, Immingham, Mexborough, Canklow and 36A Doncaster from wher e it was withdrawn in October 1965 and scrapped at Arnott Youngs Dinsdale. Face restored with a couple of neat weld repairs.
Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY LTD GLASGOW QUEEN'S PARK WORKS No 21777 1917 ex GCR Robinson designed Rod 2-8-0 rod number 1810 used in France at the end of WW1 and then by the GCR. Sold to the GWR and numbered 3054 and then 3030. Withdra wn in 1948. Diamond shaped cast brass, face restored, with 3030R chalked on the back. Measures 13in x 5.25in.
North British Railway station Hand bell, cast bronze with NBR hand engraved into the front. Complete with clapper and mahogany handle, stands 13in tall.
