Originally numbered LB&SCR 172 and SR B172 at the grou ping. Withdrawn in 1933. Oval cast brass, lightly face cleaned.
GCR cast iron viaduct plate GCR 374 (65) from the viaduct at Braunstone Gate leading to the famous Bow String Bridge Leicester. In original condition measures 13.5in x 11.75in.

Worksplate Hudswell Clarke & Co Ltd Leeds number 851 dated 1909. Ex BENTLEY No 2 used at Barber Walker Bentley Colliery. Scrapped in August 1957 with some parts being re-used for the rebuilding of HC 850 No 3. This is a replacement plate that was obviously made in house. In as removed condition with traces of green paint around the edge, measures 13in x 8.25in. Note we sold the other side of this plate which was badly worn. Lot 37 November 2014.

Smokebox numberplate 43017 ex LMS Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 built at Horwich in 1948. Allocated to Saltley, Bath Green Park (S&D), Bletchley and 12D Workington from where it was withdrawn in December 1967. Scrapped at Motherwell Machinery and Scrap Wishaw. Face restored, a typical Horwich casting.

Nameplate ELIZABETH GARRETT ANDERSON ex British Railway Class 86 Electric built by English Electric in 1965 and numbered E3122 and subsequently 86312, 86412 and 86612. Named at Euston Station in October 1983 to commemorate the first English women to qualify as a Doctor. Plates were removed in 2004. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition. Measures 97in x 9.75in.
GER cast iron bench Seat Ends x 2. The standard Great Eastern pattern supplied by Boulton and Paul of Norwich complete with all wood ready to reassemble. The Stratford name is a facsimile carved out of the wood, the seat and back rails measure 72in l ong. In restored condition.

Allocated to Bristol Bath Road and 84E Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in October 1964 and scrapped the following yea r at Cashmore's Great Bridge. In original condition as stored since 1965.

Nameplate Crest THE ROYAL MARINES as fitted to British Railways Diesel Class 45 numbered 45048 and used after the original metal ones were replaced. Circular cast resin mounted on a gilded mahogany backboard. This spare was never carried but displaye d on a wall at Derby Works. In excellent condition the crest measures 12.75in diameter.
Tenderplate GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY SWINDON WORKS 1759 JAN 1908 3500 GALLONS from a standard Churchward tender that were used on amongst other locomotives Castles, Halls, Granges and Manors. Oval engraved brass measuring 11.25in x 8.25in. In as removed condition.
Worksplate THE HUNSLET ENGINE CO LTD LEEDS 12X18 No 1684 1931 ex 0-4-0 T supplied new to Hall & Co and used at Stoats Nest Quarry Redhill, then later moved to Kilmersdon Colliery, near Radstock in Somerset where it worked until the mid 1960's, af ter which it was preserved at the Bleadon & Uphill station museum. In 1968 it was purchased by the 1968 by the G.W.R. 1338 locomotive Fund, and moved to the Middleton Railway in 2006 and is awaiting restoration. Oval cast brass, face lightly cleaned, measures 11.5in x 8in.

Allocated to Gorton, Doncaster, Colwick, Annesley and 41E Staveley (Barrow Hill) from where it was withdrawn in June 1965 and scrapped at R.A.Kings Norwich. Oval cast iron in as removed condition with 63863 LH painted on the back, measures 9in x 5in.

Measures 24in x 16in and is in very good condition.
South Eastern Railway wooden mile marker 72 3/4. This is from the Appledore to New Romney Branch between Lydd town and Lydd-On-Sea, adjacent to the British Quarrying Co siding. The section remains open for removal of nuclear waste from Dungeness Powe r station. Later on these signs would have been replaced with cast iron ones. In good as removed condition measures 13in x 10.75in. A rare survivor.
Worksplate BUILT 1952 BRIGHTON ex British Railways Riddles Standard Class 4 2-6-4 T in the number range 80027-53. Oval cast iron in restored condition measuring 10.5in x 6in.
Nameplate THE NORTH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT, ex LMS Royal Scot Class 6P/7P 4-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co as Works No 23668 in November 1927 and numbered LMS 6141 and BR 46141. Allocated to Camden, Longsight, Holbeck, Bushbury, Traffor d Park and 12B Carlisle Upperby from where it was withdrawn from April 1964 and scrapped at Crewe Works. Cast brass face restored. The plate comes with an exact copy of the circular brass regiment badge which was copied and manufactured from the other known original.
Totem NR(SC) FF RIDDINGS JUNCTION from the former North British Railway station of the famous Waverley route closed in 1967 between Hawick and Carlisle. In excellent condition with 3 small well executed repairs to the white flange.
BR-W brass cabside numberplate 8474 ex Hawksworth 0-6-0 PT built by the Yorkshire Engine Co in 1951. Allocated to 87F Llanelly for all of its working life and withdrawn from there in May 1965 and scrapped later the same year at Birds Bynea. In origin al condition as stored since 1965.

Delivered new to the NCB Swanwick Colliery Alfreton, then to Glapwell Colliery and lastly to Markham Colliery. Believed to have been scrapped in the late 1970's. Rectangular cast brass, face restored, measures 44in x 4.5in.
