Great Eastern Railway 6inch Mahogany cased Fusee Bracket clock supplied to the G.E.R. by Bevan of Tottenham London circa 1880. The English chain driven fusee movement has rectangular snailed plates, the original dial has been re written at Doncaster clock works post 1949 and reads BR(E) 55 and retains its original cast brass bezel with a keyed lock. The Gothic style case has a glazed rear door. The L.N.E.R. records show that this clock was used at Liverpool Street Station General Manager's office. A rare and unusual Railway timepiece used by senior employees, complete with pendulum and keys and in working condition but not tested for timekeeping, stands 15in tall.

Norfolk & Suffolk Joint Railway 16in dial teak cased railway clock with a cast brass bezel with the clock number 3653 scratched into the hinge. The rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement has snailed plates with N&S stamped ont o the backplate and are held together by turned screwed pillars, this would have been supplied to the N&S circa 1903 when the station opened. The original dial is lettered N&S JOINT LINE. The case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock ( key missing) The LNER clock records show the clock as being in use at Hopton On Sea station platform. The clock would have been taken out of service in 1970 when the station closed and was sold to the previous owner by British Railways Norwich. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. A truly important clock and the first one of these joint clocks to appear at auction in basically as removed condition. A copy of the clock record accompanies the lot.

The rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement has snailed plates with GER stamped onto the backplate which are held together by turned screwed pillars, thi s would have been supplied to the GER circa 1900. The restored dial is lettered GER and the rear of the dial has BR(S) 11330 painted on the back and various repair dates. The case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock, and has GER branded in the back and also its later BR(S) number 11330 stamped. The SR clock records show the clock as last being in use at New Cross Gate Goodwood Road Goods Office which would have been taken over by the Southern Region post 1948 and also that it was originally GER clock number 243. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. A copy of the clock record accompanies the lot.

The original dial which has been lightly restored displays the makers name P.G. WILSON INVERNESS who were one of the main suppliers of clocks to the Highland Railway Company. The mahogany case with glazed front door is in nicely restored condition and stands 65in tall. A superb example In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum, key and weight. London and South Western Railway 8 inch Mahogany cased drop dial fusee clock with a cast brass bezel supplied to the LSWR circa 1906 by J. Fox of Barnstaple at a cost of 2-10s-0d. The English fusee movement with rectangular plates held together by tu rned tapered pillars has been overhauled and the white enamel dial lettered L&SWR J.F. FOX LATE JNo GAYDON 188 BARNSTAPLE has been restored. The Mahogany case is in very good condition and features fine figured mahogany and is stamped in the back 188 SW. The Southern Railway clock records show that it was last in use at Winchester Booking Office. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key but not checked for accuracy. A copy of the clock record accompanies the lot.

The dial which has been lightly restored displays the makers name JAs RITCHIE & SON ENDINBURGH 12730 who were one of the main suppliers of clocks to the North British Railway Company. The mahogany case with glazed front door is in nicely restored condition and stands 60in tall on the back of the case is a BR label dated 10/06/87 sending the clock from Aberdeen to Collectors Corner Euston for sale, so we can assume that the clock was possibly in use at Aberdeen. A superb example In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum, key and weight. Note there is an identical clock to this one now on display at the Strathspey Railway Boat of Garten station.

GWR 12in dial mahogany cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a wire driven fusee movement with rectangular plates with shaped shoulders stamped W&H SCH which stands for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany. The original dial is lettered G.W.R and barely visible is SPIRDION below the winding hole and the rear is chalked with the clock number 2516. The case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn and unfortunately the ivorine numberplate is missing but there is clear evidence on the left hand side of the back box where it was originally located. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. Circa 1890. Spiridion were based in Cardiff and supplied some of the Welsh pre grouping companies including the Rhymney and Cardiff Railways.
