Smokebox numberplate 48378 ex LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 built at Horwich in 1944 and originally numbered LMS 8378. Allocated to Kirkby In Ashfield, Wellingborough, Cricklewood East and 16D Annesley from where it was withdrawn in August 1965 and scrapped. In restored condition.

Worksplate LMS BUILT 1920 ST ROLLOX ex Caledonian Railway Pickersgill Class 72 4-4-0 numbered CR 81, LMS 14486 and BR 54486. Allocated to Forfar and 63A Perth South from where it was withdrawn in March 1962 and scrapped at Arnott Young (Troon). Oval cast brass face restored, measures 10.5in x 6in. The late vendors notes record this plate as from the above locomotive.
GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 3761 ex Collett 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in 1937. Allocated 87F Llanelly for most of its working life and withdrawn from there in April 1964 and scrapped at Birds, Bynea. In original condition as stored since 1965.
BR(E) FF enamel direction sign STATION with British Railways totem at the top and right facing arrow. Measures 21in x 10.5in and is in good condition with a few small face chips and slight loss of shine.
Totem BR(W) HF BRISTOL TEMPLE MEADS from the former Great Western railway station. This has been skilfully cut out from one of the enamel roundels and is 27in long so shorter than a standard totem. In very good condition with a few minor repairs.

Worksplate HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO LTD RAILWAY FOUNDRY LEEDS No 466 1897 ex 0-6-0ST named Regina and delivered new to Denby Grange Colliery Wakefield, used later at Denby Grange Opencast and NCN Darton, returned to Hudswell Clarke in 1948 and sold t o Robinson & Birdsell Leeds and scrapped by them. Oval hand engraved brass, face lightly cleaned. Measures 13.125in x 8.25in.A rare early pattern plate.

In original condition as stored since 1965.

Diamond shaped cast aluminium, in as removed condition, measures 14.25in x 6.25in.
Locomotive nameplate DAVID. A Hunslet type casting from and industrial Diesel locomotive. Rectangular cast brass in as removed condition with Blue paint all around the edge, measures 22.5in x 6.5in.

Smokebox numberplate 43072 ex Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 built at Darlington in 1950. Allocated to Darlington, Middlesborough, Thornaby, Wakefield, Low Moor and 56B Ardsley from where it was withdrawn after an accident on the 10th November 1964 when its was wor king a train of twenty one empty wagons from Ardsley. The driver lost control at Laisterdyke and ran into Adolphus St. goods yard at an estimated speed of 50 mph. Before demolishing the buffers the crew jumped clear and the train crashed through a wall to fall 30ft into Dryden Street below. The 14 year old locomotive was considered beyond economic repair was cut up in the road 4 days later by G.W.Butler of Laisterdyke. Face restored and has been welded and cracked in half on the weld.
Nameplate badge ROYAL ENGINEERS with Queens Crown an ERII. Cast aluminium in as removed condition measuring 10in x 9in with traces of green paint on the edge and rear indicating this was probably from one of the Longmoor Military Railway named diesel locomotives. From the collection of the late Major John David Pierrepont Poyntz.
