Electrical makers plate ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT BY METROPOLITAN VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO LTD MANCHESTER & SHEFFIELD ENGLAND as fitted to the British Railways Class EM1 & EM2 centrally on the lower body side. Oval cast brass, face lightly cleaned, a rare plate measures 12in x 6in.

Great Eastern Railway 3 Aspect sliding knob Handlamp stamped in the reducing cone GER LOWESTOFT and date stamped on the inside 19 for 1919. Complete with all glasses, inner drum and GER reservoir. In good original condition complete with original bac k handle.

LNER enamel running in board MELDRETH AND MELBOURN from the former Great Northern Railway station between Hitchin and Cambridge. In good condition with some chipping, measures 60in x 16in.

Nameplate HEREFORD CASTLE from the GWR Collett Castle Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1949 as order number 367 and numbered 7022. Allocated to Cardiff Canton, Laira, Hereford, Worcester and 85B Gloucester Horton Road from where it was withdrawn in Ju ne 1965 and scrapped at R.S. Hayes/Birds, Tremains Yard, Bridgend. In lightly face restored condition with R 7022 stamped in the back indicating this is the right hand side plate. Hereford Castle was one of the last four Castles in BR active service. The first time either plate has been offered for sale and comes with original BR delivery receipt dated July 1965.

Smokebox numberplate 47009. Ex LMS Kitson designed 0F 0-4-0ST with outside cylinders built at Horwich in 1954. Allocated to Birkenhead Mollington Street, and 26B Agecroft from where it was withdrawn in September 1964 and scrapped at Cohens Ickles. Th e last built of this small class of ten. Face restored.

BR-W carriage board CAMBOURNE - NEWQUAY. Wood with steel ends in excellent condition. Measures 32in x 3.25in.

LMS Hawkseye MANGOTSFIELD from the former Midland Railway station between Gloucester and Bristol. In ex station condition measures 52in long.

North British Railway Measuring Taper Gauge, hand engraved R.BRADSHAW INSPECTOR FORTH BRIDGE. Steel and brass, measures 14.5in x 3in, complete with original mahogany box. This was used to check expansion in any of the joints on this famous bridge. A rare and possibly unique item.

Totem BR(M) HF BETWS-Y-COED from the former London & North Western railway station between Blaenau Festiniog and Llandudno Junction. In very good condition with a couple of small face chips and loss of shine, however we believe this is the best e xample offered from this station.

Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO LTD VULCAN WORKS NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS ENGLAND No 3785/D1156 1967 ex British Railways diesel class 50 originally numbered D415 and 50015 in 1974. Named VALIANT in September 1978. Originally allocated to the LMWL London Midland Western Lines and withdrawn in June 1992 from Laira. After its withdrawal it was initially bought from BR by Pete Waterman, then later transferred to the Manchester Class 50 Group and is now owned and maintained by the Bury Valiant Group. In rechromed condition as acquired from Doncaster works by the vendors late father who was the Chief Foreman of 4 bay which was the locomotive repair shop and test bays and the stripping shop at British Rail Engineering Ltd. Measures 10.25in x 4.5in.

Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK & CO LTD 1914 MANCHESTER. Ex South Eastern & Chatham Railway Wainwright L class 4-4-0 numbered SECR 764, SR 1764 and BR 31764. Allocated to Stewarts Lane, Tonbridge, Ashford, St Leonards, Ramsgate and 70A Nine Elms fr om where it was withdrawn in February 1961 and scrapped at Ashford works. Oval cast brass face restored, measures 9.75in x 5.75in. The late vendors notes record this plate as from the above locomotive.

Great Western Railway Auxiliary Electric Key Token instrument. Steel cover with GWR stamped into the hinges and GWR cast into the cast iron base stands 23in high. A scarce instrument.

Measures 24in x 16in and is in very good condition.

BR(W) FF enamel station direction sign MANGOTSFIELD STATION with left facing arrow. In very good condition, with a few small repairs, measures 56in x 20in. This would have been positioned on the approach road to the station and is unusual because the arrow isn't the standard BR feathered type.

BR-W brass cabside numberplate 8479 ex Hawksworth 0-6-0 PT built by the Yorkshire Engine Co in 1952. Allocated to Westbury, St Philips Marsh and 88B Radyr from where it was withdrawn in October 1964 and scrapped Woodham Bros, Barry. In original condi tion as stored since 1965.

Worksplate ROBERT STEPHENSON & HAWTHORNS LTD NEWCASTLE WORKS 6990 1940. Ex 0-4-0 DM delivered new to the MOD Air Force Department Colton Stafford and numbered 173, then to Air Ministry Bucks in 1950 and named Hardwicke and numbered AMW 174, then in 1962 to George Cohen & Sons, Stanningley later sold by them to Coal Mechanisation in London and lastly British Fuel Concentration Aylesbury. Scrapped in 1974. Oval cast brass lightly face cleaned measures 13in x 8.5in.

Nameplate INVINCIBLE ex British Railways Diesel class 50 built by English Electric in 1968 as works number 3795/D1166 and numbered D425 and renumbered 50025 in January 1974 and named without ceremony at Laira Depot in June 1978. The locomotive was wi thdrawn from service in August 1989 following a derailment and subsequently scrapped at Old Oak Common by Vic Berry. In as removed condition as purchased from British Railways Collectors Corner as stock number 7800. This plate is the side that was dragged along the lines following its derailment and has abrasion marks to the face, the other plate was removed and donated to the Royal navy. HMS Invincible was the flagship of the Falklands war fleet. Together with various items from the from the ships commissioning, a contemporary cast metal badge, a framed Copper plaque and order of service.

Ex Rhymney Rly Hurry Riches A1 0-6-2T numbered Rhymney 2 and GWR 31, allocated to Cardiff East Dock and withdrawn from 88A Cardiff Cathays in March 1951 and scrapped. Lozenge shaped c ast brass face restored with 31 stamped into the back, ,measures 11in x 5.25in.

Smokebox numberplate 62024 ex LNER Peppercorn K1 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1949. Allocated to Blaydon, Gateshead and 52F Blyth North from where it was withdrawn in February 1967 and scrapped at Hughes Bolckows Bly th. In restored condition.

Square cast aluminium measures 17.75in x 17.75in in as removed condition, together with a circular cast plaque STRATFORD MAJOR DEPOT 1914-1991 ex stores as fitt ed to BR diesel class 31 31165. Measures 13.5in diameter.

Great Western & London & South Western Joint railway cast iron boundary post. With GWR AND LSWR BOUNDARY 1909 cast into the top and a piece of GWR broad gauge rail welded underneath. In good condition and a manageable 26 inches long. A rare b oundary post ex Portland station.
