Wagon plate ABERLLEFENY QUARRIES 42 ex internal user wagon used at the Aberllefeni Quarries North Wales which connected with the Corris Railway which became part of the GWR in 1929. Oval cast iron measures 8.5in x 6.5in and in as removed condition, a very rare plate.

Smokebox numberplate 44878 ex LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 built at Crewe in 1945 and originally numbered LMS 4878. Allocated to Carlisle Kingmoor and 10D Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in July 1968 and scrapped the following year at Cohens Ke ttering. In lightly cleaned condition.

GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 2283 ex Collett 0-6-0 built at Swindon in 1936. Allocated to Worcester, Neyland, Bath Green Park and 86E Severn tunnel Junction from where it was withdrawn in December 1963. Scrapped at A.King & Sons Ltd, Norwich . In restored condition. Comes with original BR receipt.

BR(S) FF enamel station fascia sign. BUDE STATION with two Southern totems either end. From the former London & South Western terminus in North Cornwall closed in 1966, this sign was mounted above the entrance. In very good condition with minor c hipping and a small crease, rare to find any enamel from this station. Measures 117in x 12in. Sold on behalf of the Swindon & Cricklade Railway.

London Brighton & South Coast Railway Platform Oil Lamp with painted lamp glass HAILSHAM and original copper reservoir stamped LBSCR. Complete with burner and glass chimney, stands 20in tall.

Allocated to Boston, New England and 35B Grantham from where it was withdrawn in August 1959. Scrapped at Doncast er Works. Oval engraved brass, face lightly cleaned, with 4181 and 3532 stamped in the back. Measures 12.25in x 7.5in.

Diesel Bogie plate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY LTD GLASGOW BOGIE No 6306/91 BUILT 1960 ex British Railways class 22 D6351 allocated new to 83D Laira. Diamond shaped cast brass measuring 6in x 2.5in.

BR-W Brass cabside numberplate 7916 ex BR-W Hawksworth modified Hall Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1950 as order number 368 and named Mobberley Hall. Allocated to St Blazey, Newton Abbot, Laira, Swindon and 88A Cardiff east Dock from where it was w ithdrawn from in December 1964 and scrapped the following year at Swindon works. In face restored condition. Note we sold the nameplate in our March 2022 auction.

Smokebox numberplate 48775 ex LMS Stanier Class 8F 2-8-0 built at Crewe in 1937 and originally numbered WD 70512 and served on the Longmoor Military Railway as Longmoor 512. Sent by the WD to Eastleigh for overhaul in 1957 and then sold to BR and num bered 48775. Allocated to Polmadie, Carlisle Kingmoor, Newton heath, Agecroft, Patricroft and 10D Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in August 1968 and scrapped. In lightly cleaned condition with BR Eastleigh triangle cast into the back.

Note this is the earlier style Vulcan plate seldom seen.

A pair of leather BR Cash Bags one brass plated WOODHAM FERRERS TO WIXFORD and the other SOUTHMINSTER TO WOODHAM FERRERS. Both in good condition and measure 11in x 8.5in.

London & South Western Railway table oil lamp with ornate cast iron base with SWR cast underneath, Cranberry glass reservoir, Hinks's No2 duplex burner, glass chimney and glass globe. In excellent condition stands 26in tall. A rare and ornate lam p probably used in a senior employees office maybe at Eastleigh, similar to the GWR waiting room type.

Nameplate ZENITH ex British Railways diesel Hydraulic Warship Class 42 built at Swindon in 1961 and numbered D867. Allocated new to 83D Laira and withdrawn from there October 1971. Scrapped the following year at BREL Swindon. Cast aluminium, face sym pathetically restored over original paint, rear original.

Rectangular cast brass, lightly cleaned, measures 8.25in x 5in.

GWR brass cabside numberplate 1029 ex GWR Hawksworth 4-6-0 County Class Locomotive built at Swindon in April 1947 and named County Of Worcester. Allocated to Wolverhampton Stafford Road, Neyland and withdrawn from 82C Swindon in December 1962 and scr apped at Cashmore's Newport. In original condition. Note this was the last of the class and neither side has appeared publicly for sale before.

Oval cast brass face restored, measures 9in x 5.25in.

Allocations included Exeter, Laira, Old Oak Common, Penzance, Neath Court Sart, Landore and 88B Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn in June 1963. Scrapped later the following year at Cashmores Newport. Face restored.

Tyers single line chromed steel key token KESWICK NO2 - BRAITHWAITE, configuration A. Ex Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway which closed in 1966. In ex box condition.

Named after the famous Italian explorer who completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean in the 15th Century. The nameplate measures 22.25in x 34.25in and in as removed condition. Together with official Virgin letter of Authenticity dated 11th December 2019.

Worksplate THE VULCAN FOUNDRY (LIMITED) NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS LANCASHIRE No 5193 1945 ex WD Riddles Austerity 2-8-0 numbered 7950 and named Major General McMullen. In later years it saw service on the Longmoor Military Railway and was numbered 401 and pa inted blue with red lining. It was scrapped in 1957. Oval cast brass, face cleaned, measures 9.5in x 5.25in. From the collection of the late Major John David Pierrepont Poyntz. Note we sold the nameplate from this locomotive in our March 2022 auction.
