Midland Railway hand engraved brass shelf plate WESTHOUSES AND BLACKWELL GOODS LINE. In good condition with original black wax infill. Measures 4.5in x 1in.

Stainless steel Intercity Swallow, right hand facing, as removed from Class 91 Electric locomotive 91025 and named Berwick upon Tweed and BBC Radio One FM. Measures 22.75in long and is in very good condition with the tail tips missing.

Allocated to Nine Elms and 73A Stewarts Lane from where it was withdrawn in December 1958 and scrapped. In face restored condition but not skimmed, rear stamped 766.

Allocated to Bank Hall, Belle Vue, Accrington, Rose Grove, Fleetwood and 2 4C Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in September 1967 and scrapped at Cashmores Newport. Rectangular cast brass, lightly cleaned, measures 8.25in x 5in.

LNER cast iron doorplate LADIES WAITING ROOM. In lightly cleaned condition, measures 21.25in x 4.75in.

Great Western Railway lamp tablet NEWTON ABBOT from the famous station on the line between Exeter and Torquay. Engraved China glass in original cast iron frame with mounting brackets. Measures 18in x 3.75in and is in very good condition with a minor chip above the first N.

North Eastern Railway signal boxboard ROBINS HOODS BAY from the box between Scarborough and Whitby closed in 1965. Wood with cast metal letters in good condition with some wood loss in places. Measures 71in x 10.5in.

Face restored.

Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COY LTD HYDE PARK WORKS GLASGOW No 23834 1929 ex GWR Collett 0-6-0 PT numbered 5716. Allocated to 87J Fishguard Goodwick and withdrawn from there in March 1958. Scrapped later the same year at Swindon works. Circul ar cast brass face restored with 5716 stamped into the back, measures 7.75in diameter.

Worksplate BRUSH TRACTION ENGLAND No 258 1960 ex British Railways diesel class 31 originally numbered D5658 then 31231 in 1974. Originally allocated to 31B March and withdrawn from Stratford in January 1990 and scrapped at M.C. Processors Glasgow. Ov al cast aluminium in face restored condition measures 9.5in x 5.75in.

Allocated new to Gorton in May 1925 and later Kings Cross, Doncaster, Grantham, Copley Hill and New England from wher e it was withdrawn in December 1964 and scrapped at R.A. King Norwich in 1965. Fully engraved brass, 13.25in x 7.75in, the front lightly polished, the back stamped 2561 and 62 and the rim stamped 2561.

Worksplate THE HUNSLET ENGINE CO LTD LEEDS 204 HP No 5643 1960 ex British Railways Class 05 0-6-0 Diesel Shunter numbered D2594. Allocated new to 52E Percy Main and withdrawn in March 1967 from 51C West Hartlepool and scrapped the following year at S lag Reduction, Ickles. Oval cast brass measuring 11.5in x 8in. Face lightly cleaned.

Smokebox numberplate 48724 ex LMS Stanier 8F built Brighton works in 1944. Numbered LNER 7670, 3119, 3519 and LMS 8724. Allocated to Wakefield, Low Moor, Swansea, Shrewsbury, Stourbridge Junction, Saltley, Bescot, Oxley and 8F Springs Branch from whe re it was withdrawn in October 1967 and scrapped at Buttigieg’s Newport. Lightly face restored with a small repair to the right hand bolt hole.

Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 3 Aspect handlamp stamped in the side and drum latch slide LYR. Also stamped BLACKROD. Complete with all glasses, reservoir and burner.

Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK & CO LTD 7075 BEYER GARRATT LOCOMOTIVE PATENETS 298422-518251 MANCHESTER 1944. Built for the Kenya Uganda Railway (war Department no 4418) type 4-8-2+2-8-4 and numbered 89 and later EAR no 5401. Oval cast iron measuring 1 0.25in x 5.25in. In as removed condition a rare Wartime cast iron plate and one of only 25 locomotives built with this style of plate.

Totem BR(E) FF FORNCETT from the former Great Eastern railway station between Norwich and Tivetshall. In excellent condition.

Nameplate CLOTHES SHOW LIVE ex British Railways class 86 electric 86222. Built in 1965 at BR Doncaster and numbered E3131 then 86222 in 1974, 86502 in 1988 and back to 86222 in 1989. Named in November 1994 and nameplates removed in July 2003. Rectang ular cast aluminium measures 60in x 9.75in.

BR-S Tyers No9 single line bronze key token HALWILL - HOLSWORTHY. From the former London & South Western Railway section on the North Cornwall line closed in 1967. In ex railway condition with the end cut off which was done by the Exeter S&T department to stop improper use.

Lightly face cleaned, rectangular cast brass.

Scrapped the following year later at Birds, Risca. Oval ca st brass face restored, measures 11.5in x 8in. Yorkshire Engine Company built 20 panniers under license from Hunslet and fitted only one Hunslet plate per locomotive. There are two different patterns for the different batches of 10 and we have one of each pattern in this auction. A rare plate.

Allocated to Gorton, Sheffield, Langwith Junction, Hull Springhead, Doncaster, Barnsley, Stavele y G.C. and 16D Annesley from where it was withdrawn in October 1962. Scrapped at Derby Works. In lightly restored condition.
