Flamecut cabside panel 45006 ex British Railways Diesel locomotive built at Crewe in 1961, originally numbered D89, and named Honourable Artillery Company. In good condition with D89 visible underneath the number. All angle removed, measures 34.75in x 12in.
Worksplate 9x5 LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY DONCASTER 1911 with renumbering strip 64175 ex GNR Ivatt J6 0-6-0 numbered GNR 526, LNER 3526, 4175 and BR 64175. Allocated to Grantham, Hither Green and 34D Hitchin from where it was withdrawn in Jul y 1960 and scrapped at Stratford Works. Oval cast brass in as removed condition. Measures 9in x 5in. From the former Great Western Railway station between Wolverhampton Low Level and Shrewsbury. In good condition with some restoration to the edges and a few scratches on the face. Measures 28in x 13in.
Totem BR(E) FF LITTLEPORT from the former Great Eastern Railway station between Ely and Downham. In very good condition with slight loss of shine.
Smokebox numberplate 70001 ex British Railways Riddles STD Class 7 Britannia 4-6-2 built at Crewe in 1951 and named Lord Hurcomb. Allocated to Stratford, Norwich Thorpe, March, Willesden, Aston and 12A Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in September 1966 and scrapped at Motherwell Machinery and Scrap (Wishaw). Face restored.
Worksplate ANDREW BARCLAY SONS & CO LTD KILMARNOCK CALEDONIA WORKS No 396 1956 ex British Railways Diesel Class 01 0-4-0 numbered 11504 and D2954 and 01001 in 1974. The locomotive spent most of its working life at Holyhead working on the breakwat er and was withdrawn in September 1979 and scrapped. Oval cast aluminium, face restored, measures 9.75in x 7.25in. A rare plate from a Class of 5 and one of only two to receive a BR Tops number.
Worksplate LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY Co No 1914 DONCASTER 1940 ex LNER/British Railways electric Class 76, originally numbered LNER 6701, then LNER 6000 in 1946 and E26000 in 1952. Loaned to Netherlands Railway for trials in 1947 until Mar 1952. N amed Tommy June 1952 until February 1968. Allocated to 39A Gorton Mar 1953, it was withdrawn from 9C Reddish Mar 1970 and scrapped at Crewe Works November 1972. Oval engraved brass, face cleaned. Measures 13.25in x 7.75in. A truly historic plate.
British Railways Lion Over Wheel steel cabside panel as carried by Class EM2 Co-Co electric locomotive number 27000 ELECTRA. Built at Gorton Works Manchester in 1953 it was used on the Woodhead route and was withdrawn in 1968 and in 1969 sold to th e Dutch national railway operator Nederlandse Spoorwegen, where they became NS 1500 Class and was numbered NS 1502. In Dutch service it carried both its nameplates and this panel directly above the nameplates. Flanged steel with bosses on the back, in as removed condition measures 32in x 16in.
Nameplate THE CARDIFF ROD MILL ex British Railways Diesel Class 37 numbered 37229 built in 1964 by English Electric. Originally numbered D6929 and named in May 1984. Nameplates removed in November 1988. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condit ion measures 72.75in x 9.75in. Also included is a reproduction badge.
Nameplate KINDER SCOUT ex British Railways Class 60 Diesel 60080 built by Brush Traction Loughborough as works number 982 in 1991. Nameplates were applied when built and removed in September 2001. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition me asures 51.75in x 10in. Named after the summit of High Peak near Hayfield. Complete with original EWS certificate.

GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 4688 ex Collett 0-6-0PT built at Swindon in 1944. Allocated to Bristol St Philips Marsh and 88J Aberdare from where it was withdrawn in December 1963 and scrapped at T.W. Ward, Briton Ferry. In original condition as stored since 1965.

HST Intercity left hand facing Swallow as fitted to the British Railways DVT Car 82126 which was painted in Virgin Trains Pretendolino livery. Stainless steel, measures 32in x 34in. In as removed condition. Complete with Porterbrook leasing company o fficial receipt.
LMS signal box board ILKESTON TOWN from the Midland Railway box at the end of the short branch to the town closed in 1959. Wood with cast iron letters, in as removed condition, measures 69.5in x 10.5in. Possibly one of the only items to survive from this station.
LNER cast iron seat back BRIDLINGTON from the former North Eastern Railway station between Driffield and Filey. In very good face restored condition, measures 35.75in x 4.25in.

British Railways locomotive headboard THE PALATINE as used on the former London St Pancras - Manchester Central Express from 1957 and regularly hauled by Jubilee and Britannia locomotives. Cast aluminium, In original condition and also painted on the back are details when this board was used after British Railways ownership on a steam special in 1995 from Stockport to ST Pancras hauled by 44767.

Worksplate VULCAN IRON WORKS BUILDERS WILKES - BARRE U.S.A. NO 4433 1943. Ex Southern Railway USA 0-6-0T numbered SR 70 and BR 30070. Allocated to 71I Southampton Docks from where it was withdrawn from in October 1962. Circular cast iron in restored condition, measures 9.25in diameter. 30070 was preserved and has returned to service in Longmoor Military Railway Lined Blue as No. 300 Frank S. Ross. A rare plate.
Totem BR(SC) FF CRIANLARICH LOWER from the former Caledonian Railway station between Callender and Connel Ferry. In very good condition with a well executed crease repair and small repair to the top left flange. A rare totem last at auction 18 years ago and from a single platform station that had no more than 5 totems.
Great Western Railway mahogany donation box. With original label GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY SOCIAL & EDUCATIONAL UNION HELPING HAND FUND. Label beneath shows it was used at Kingswear station and collected 1-16-0d in 1942. In excellent condition measur es 7in x 3in x 9.5in a superb little item not see by us before.
Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC Co LTD, STEPHENSON WORKS, DARLINGTON, ENGLAND No 3343/8396 - 1963 ex British Railways Diesel Class 37 originally numbered D6865, 37165 in 1974 and 37374 in 1989. Allocated new to 87E Landore and was well travelled spen ding time at York, Ardsley, Farnley Junction, March, Stratford, Tinsley, Immingham, and Thornaby Depots. Withdrawn in 1989 and scrapped at Carnforth. Rectangular cast chromed in as removed condition, measures 10in x 4.5in. This is the rarest version of the four patterns of class 37 worksplates.
BR-W brass cabside numberplate 7034 ex Collett Castle Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1950 and named Ince Castle. Allocated to Bristol Bath Road, St Philips Marsh and 85B Gloucester Horton Road from where it was withdrawn in 1965 and scrapped at R.S. Hayes/Birds Tremains Yard Bridgend. Face restored a long time ago.

Co 1918 4577 ex North British Railway Reid J37 0-6-0 originally numbered NBR 457 then LNER 9457, 4577 and lastly 64577 Allocations included St Margarets, Thornton Junction and 62B Dundee Tay Br idge from where it was withdrawn in August 1966. Oval cast brass, face restored, measures 9in x 5in.
Smokebox numberplate 60145 ex Peppercorn A1 Pacific 4-6-2 built at Darlington in 1949 and named Saint Mungo. Allocated to Gateshead, Copley Hill, Darlington and 50A York North from where it was withdrawn in June 1966 and scrapped. In as removed condi tion. 60145 was the last of the A1's to remain in service.
Nameplate PITCHFORD HALL. Ex GWR Collet 4-6-0 Hall Class Locomotive built at Swindon in 1929 and numbered 4953. Allocated to Swindon, St Philips Marsh, Cardiff Canton and 88L Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn in May 1963. In lightly clean ed original condition, rear stamped R No 4953 Lot No 254 indicating this is the Right hand plate. nameplate comes with original BR purchase receipt dated January 1964. Pitchford Hall is near to Shrewsbury. The locomotive is currently based on the Epping & Ongar Railway.

Allocated to Bank Hall and 24C Lostock Hall from where it was withdrawn in September 1964 and scrapped at Cohens Ickles. Oval cast brass in restored condit ion, measures 10.5in x 6.25in. There is a typed piece of paper with this lot indicating it was from this loco.

Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire railway 3 Aspect sliding knob Handlamp (green glass blanked off) stamped on the side and the inner drum MS&LRY and brass plated P.UNSWORTH LOCO DEPT LINCOLN Complete with all glasses, inner drum and early r ape oil reservoir. In good restored condition complete with original back handle.
Tyers bronze one engine in steam staff ESSENDINE BOURNE with a separate bronze key token ESSENDINE BOURNE. From the section that closed in 1951 and this staff was recovered from Essendine South signal box just before demolition. A truly historic item featured in the book Essendine to Bourne by John Rhodes and a copy accompanies the staff.
BR(M) FF enamel doorplate STATION MASTER. In the unique yellow and light blue only used at Penychain station which was used for the nearby Butlins holiday camp. Totems and Running in boards are known to survive but this is the first piece of smaller signage to be seen. In very good condition measures 18in x 6in. A unique doorplate.
Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK MANCHESTER 1887 from one of the 30 ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Barton Wright Class 25 Ironclad 0-6-0 locomotives built by Beyer Peacock. Curved cast brass face restored rear original measures 26in x 5.25in. Fifteen of these locomotives built by BP in this year survived into BR ownership and were numbered 52036,37,41,43,44,45,46,47,49,51,53,56,59,63 and 64. There is some paperwork and a label accompanying the lot showing it was purchased from a collector for £25 in 1971.
