Worksplate BUILT BY BRITISH RAIL ENGINEERING LIMITED. CREWE WORKS 1983 ex British Railways diesel Class 56 56117. Allocated new to Tinsley Mar 1983. Named Wilton-Coalpower 1992 to 1997. Loco worked in France Oct 2004 to Oct 2006. Sold to Floyd, Hunga ry and exported Jul 2013 and numbered 0659 003, used as a parts donor. Rectangular cast aluminium, face restored with 56117 stamped in the back. Measures 7in x 4.75in.
Smokebox Numberplate 393 ex Stanier LMS 8F 2-8-0, built by North British in 1941 as works No 24701, for the Ministry of Supply and numbered 393. This engine was sent to Persia in 1941 and later renumbered WD no 70393 which was applied on transfer to Egypt in 1944. Renumbered again to 505 in 1952 and finally Egyptian State Railways 836 in 1956. In restored condition a rare survivor.

Nameplate ST ALBAN'S HEAD ex LB&SCR Marsh Class H1 4-4-2 Atlantic built in 1912 at Brighton and numbered LB&SCR 426, SR 2426 and BR 32426. Allocated to Newhaven and 75A Brighton from where it was withdrawn in August 1956 and scrapped at Brigh ton Works. Curved cast brass nicely polished.
Totem BR(M) FF CARNFORTH. From the former London & North Western and Furness Railway Joint station between Lancaster and Penrith. This station famously featured in the classic 1945 film Brief Encounter directed by David Lean and starring Celia Jo hnson and Trevor Howard. In good condition with some small face chip repairs.

Lightly face restored. Together with another BUILT 1955 DERBY ex British Railways Riddles class 5 4-6-0 numbered 73091 which was allocated to Patricroft, Shrewsbury and 85B Gloucester Barnwood. Oval cast iron measuring 10.25in x 6in. Lightly face restored with loss to the right hand end.

Allocated to Llanelli, Carmarthen, Ebbw Junction and 86H Aberbeeg from where it was withdrawn in May 1962 and scrapped at Cashmores Newport. Face restored rear original condition.

Oval engraved brass face polished, measures 12.25in x 6.25in.
Smokebox numberplate 30785 ex SR Urie/Maunsell King Arthur 4-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1925 and named Sir Mador De La Porte. Allocated to Nine Elms and 71A Eastleigh from where it was withdrawn in October 1959 and s crapped. Partially face restored.
GWR mahogany cased Spagnoletti Double Line Block Instrument, complete and in ex railway condition, ex Par Harbour Signal Box, stands 15.5in tall.
Wagon Lits cast brass coach emblem as fixed onto the sides of all Wagon Lits coaches. In two separate parts, the outer garter reads CIE INTERNATIONALE DES WAGONS LITS. In nicely cleaned condition, the emblem measures 32in x 24in. Nicely mounted on a board for display which measures 38in x 30in.
M&GN Tyers No 1 brass and steel Single Line Tablet CROSS KEYS BRIDGE 30. From the Long Sutton Cross Keys Bridge section that closed in 1965. This is weighting tablet from the instrument. In good condition measures 5in diameter.
Totem BR(W) HF WELSHPOOL from the former Cambrian Railway station between Oswestry and Newtown. In very good condition with a couple of minute face chips.

LNER signal box board MARCH SOUTH JUNCTION from the former Great Northern and Great Eastern Railway Joint box between Peterborough and Ely. Wood with cast iron letters, in nicely restored condition, measures 96in x 12in.
Flamecut cabside panel 40099 ex British Railways Diesel locomotive built by English Electric in 1960 and originally numbered D299. In good condition complete with data panel and Haymarket Shed label. All angle removed, measures 33.5in x 19in.
Worksplate LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY REBUILT STRATFORD WORKS 1888 31 ex Holden J66 0-6-0 T built at Stratford and originally numbered GER 313, LNER 7313, 8362, BR 68382 and lastly BR DEPARTMENTAL 31. Allocations included Stavely GC for a sho rt while and Stratford Works where it saw out its life. Oval cast brass measuring 9in x 5in. Face restored and very rare to see a departmental number on a 9x5 plate.
Nameplate BESCOT YARD ex British Railways class 47 47238. Built by Brush Traction as works number 677 in December 1965, named in October 1988 nameplates removed in June 1996. Locomotive withdrawn in 2001 and scrapped later the same year at EMC metals Kingsbury. Cast aluminium face repainted measures 51.75in x 10in.
Nameplate set JOHN H CARLESS V.C. together with its oval naming plaque THIS LOCOMOTIVE WAS NAMED TO COMMEMORATE THE 75th ANNIVERSARY OF THE AWARD TO JOHN H CARLESS VC AND WAS PRESENTED BY THE ROYAL NAVAL ASSOCIATION and HMS CALEDON plaque. As carried by British Railways diesel Class 31 31107. New to 31B March 4/59 as D5525. Named at Bescot Depot Open Day August 1992. Nameplates removed July 1995 on withdrawal. Scrapped at Ron Hull Junior, Rotherham. All 3 plates are in as removed condition, nameplate measures 80.5in x 10in and plaques 28in x 9.75in and 16.75in x 12.75in. A rare chance to obtain a plate with a Victoria Cross recipient.

In good original condition comple te with LNER fore and aft reservoir and all glasses.
BR-S Tyers No9 single line bronze key token HALWILL - DUNSLAND CROSS. From the former London & South Western Railway section on the North Cornwall line closed in 1967. In ex railway condition with the end cut off which was done by the Exeter S&am p;T department to stop improper use.
Worksplate BRUSH SULZER No 504 1964 ex British Railways diesel Class 47 originally numbered D1733 then 47141 in 1974, 47614 in 1984 and 47853 in 1990. Allocated new to 86A Cardiff Canton. Named Rail Express between 2002 – 2006. This was the loco chos en to carry the XP64 livery in 1964. Loco still in service with Locomotive Services Limited running as 47614. Oval cast aluminium in as removed condition, measures 8.25in x 5.75in. It is believed that the four hole fixings were unique to this locomotive.
Smokebox numberplate 47485 ex LMS Fowler 0-6-0 T built by The Vulcan Foundry in 1928 and numbered LMS 16568 and 7485. Allocated to Nottingham, Burton, Leicester Midland, Kentish Town, Bedford, Wellingborough and 8A Edge Hill from where it was withdra wn in January 1965. Scrapped at Maden & McKee Stanley Liverpool. Face restored with two neat weld repairs.
BR(M) Carriage Boards x 3 BROAD STREET/EUSTON, NORTHAMPTON/BLETCHLEY and TRING/WATFORD. All are in very good original condition and are manufactured from aluminium and measure 32in x 3.25in.
Worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY LTD GLASGOW ATLAS WORKS No 22088 1919. Ex Robinson designed Rod 2-8-0 Rod number 1795 and GWR 3024 from 1926. Allocated to Oxley and 87G Carmarthen from where it was withdrawn in October 1958 and scrapped a t Swindon works. Oval cast brass face restored, measures 9.5in x 6.25in and is one of the few oval types of worksplates from the Great Western Rod's.
Worksplate LMS BUILT 1933 CREWE. Engines built at Crewe that year were Class 5 2-6-0 42945-57/60/63, Patriot Class 6P 4-6-0 Nos 45517-9/23/24/2932/36-41 and the first two Princess Royal Class 8P 4-6-2 Nos 46200/1. Oval cast brass face restored. Measu res 10.25in x 6in.

Allocated to Rose Grove, Accrington, Hereford, Swansea, Llanelli, Gloucester Barnwood and 82F Bath Green Park from where it was withdrawn in June 1964 and scrapped at Cashmore's (Newport). In as removed condition.
GWR Brass cabside numberplate 2053 ex Dean 0-6-0PT built at Wolverhampton works in 1898. Allocated to Westbury and 82B St Philips Marsh from where it was withdrawn in April 1954 and Sold to National Smelting Co., Avonmouth in August 1954. In restored condition with boiler and class details stamped in the rim, one of only a handful of this class known to have survived
Worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD LONDON 2859/8154 1961 ROBERT STEPHENSON & HAWTHORNS LTD LOCOMOTIVE WORKS ENGLAND ex British Railways diesel Class 40 originally numbered D324 the 40124 in 1974. Allocated new to 5A Crewe North and withd rawn from Longsight Jan 1984. Scrapped at Doncaster Works in Mar 1984. This was the last of the twenty Class 40s built at Darlington. Rectangular cast brass in basically as removed condition with a couple of very small repairs to the bottom of both corners. Measures 10in x 4.5in.
