A collection of 7 BR Totem Cap badges to include; All six regions PORTER all chrome with makers name J R Gaunt London on the back and a BR(W) TICKET COLLECTOR chrome with makers name J R Gaunt London. The BR(E) Porter has a minor chip and fracture the rest are in excellent condition.
A collection of 6 BR Totem Cap badges to include; GUARD BR(NE) gilt, GUARD BR(E) gilt, GUARD BR(W) chrome, GUARD BR(S) gilt, FOREMAN BR(E) chrome and FOREMAN BR(M) chrome, all with makers name J R Gaunt London on the back. The BR(NE) Guard has a sm all chip the rest are in excellent condition.
Shedplate 75E Three Bridges 1948 to June 1964. This ex LBSCR shed had 30 locos on its books in the 1950s., which dwindled to just 14 within a few months of closure. As removed condition with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern region casting marks on the front.
Shedplate 82D Westbury 1949-October 1963. This ex GWR shed had an allocation of 75 locos during the 1950s. It was recoded 83C in October 1963, and closed to steam in September 1965. Face cleaned with Swindon castings marks to the edge.
Shedplate 85E Gloucester Barnwood February 1958-September 1960. This ex MR shed, formerly 22B, was transferred from the LMR to the WR in 1958. It had 40 ex LMS locos during the period it used this code. It was only when it became 85C that it received a handful of ex GWR locos, finally closing in May 1964. Face lightly cleaned with Swindon castings marks to the rear and edge.
Shedplate 65A Eastfield 1948-November 1966 for steam. This ex NBR shed housed a star studded allocation of 170 locos in the early 1950s. Of note were K1, K2, and K4 2-6-0s, along with D11 and D34 4-4-0s. By 1965, however the total number of steam loc os was down to single figures. Many of Eastfields diesel locos also carried this style of code well in to the 1970s. In restored condition with the Scottish District shed casting pattern number etc cast into the back, this is the pattern with smaller numerals and letter.
Shedplate 17A Derby 1935-September 1963. The former Midland HQ at Derby had a shed housing around 140 locos in the 1950s. By the time it lost this code it was down to just 40. Face restored.
Shedplate 17B Burton 1935 to September 1963. This ex MR shed had an allocation of over 100 locos during the 1950s which included examples of small shunters from the L&Y, Caledonian, Midland and LMS railway companies. It was recoded 16F and finall y closed in September 1966. Face restored.
Shedplate 14A Cricklewood 1935-September 1963. This ex MR shed was home to 90 locos in 1950, but by the time it changed code to 14B it only had around 30 locos left. It finally closed to steam in December 1964. Some diesel locos that were allocated to the new diesel depot and this is probably one of them with D5007 painted on the back. Face restored.
Shedplate 18A Toton 1935 - September 1963. This ex MR shed housed over 150 locos during the 1950s; it’s most famous occupants being the 23 Beyer Garratt 2-6-6-2s. Lightly face restored with 48209 painted on the back.
