British Railways station platform sign WHITBY. Screen printed aluminium in very good ex station condition, measures 38in x 14in.
Worksplate VULCAN FOUNDRY Co LD NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS LANCASHIRE No 1204 1887. Ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Barton Wright Class 25 0-6-0 numbered L&Y 934, LMS 2021 and BR 52021. Allocated to 10A Wigan Springs Branch from where it was withdra wn in August 1955 and scrapped at Horwich works. Oval cast brass in original condition, measures 9.75in x 5.75in. Note this is the earlier style Vulcan plate seldom seen.
Nameplate KING EDWARD VI. Ex GWR Collet King Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1928 as order number 243 and numbered 6012. Allocated to Plymouth Lairs, Old Oak Common and 84A Wolverhampton Stafford Road from where it was withdrawn in September 1962 and scrapped at Cox & Danks Oldbury. In nicely restored condition, the rear of the plate is stamped LD Lot 243 No 2 indicating this is the left hand plate.

Worksplate THE DREWRY CAR Co. LTD LOCO No. 2681 - 1960. ASSOCIATED WITH ROBERT STEPHENSON & HAWTHORNS LTD. DARLINGTON, CITY WALL HOUSE, LONDON EC2 ex British Railways Class 04 diesel shunter D2300. Allocated new to 40A Lincoln October 1960, it wa s withdrawn from 8J Allerton May 1969 and sold to NCB for further use. Numbered No. 30 it saw use at Shireoaks, Steetley and finally Manton Main collieries. Out of use by late 1983 it was broken up on site by staff of Hoyland Dismantling Co. Ltd in October 1985. Oval cast brass, face restored. Measures 8in x 5in.
Smokebox numberplate 90051 ex Riddles WD 2-8-0 built by North British Locomotive in 1944. Originally numbered WD 821, 70821, LNER 3051. Allocated to Woodford Halse, Canklow, Langwith Juction and 40E Colwick from where it was withdrawn in October 196 5 and scrapped at Drapers Hull. Lightly face restored.
LNER cast iron doorplate GENERAL WAITING ROOM. In as removed condition, measures 21.25in x 4.75in.
Totem BR(M) FF BLYTHE BRIDGE from the former North Staffordshire Railway station between Stoke and Uttoxeter. In good condition with some mottling and slight loss of shine. A rare totem only offered twice before.
Locomotive Whistle ex King Arthur Class Locomotive. The valve is stamped BR(S) along with the Eastleigh Triangle and the top stamped BR YM3. Stands 12.25in tall and measures 3.5in diameter.

Totem BR(S) FF GILLINGHAM from the former South Eastern and Chatham Railway station between Chatham and Sittingbourne. In very good condition with some blemishes in the enamel. This is the rarer dark green black flanged version that has appeared only 4 times before.

Worksplate BRITISH RAILWAYS DERBY BUILT 1967 POWER EQUIPMENT BY ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES LTD AND SULZER ex British Railways diesel Class 25 originally numbered D7675 becoming 25325 February 1974. Allocated new to D16 Nottingham Division April 1967. It was withdrawn from Crewe Diesel Depot December 1985. Stored at Carlisle until November 1988 when it was moved to Glasgow Works and then to MC Metal Processing and cut up February 1990. Rectangular cast aluminium, face restored. Measures 13in x 6.5in. Only six locomotives of this class were built at Derby in this year.
LT enamel FF sign; one side STRAND STATION (NORTHERN LINE) STRAIGHT ON SUBWAY and the other side STRAND (SOUTHSIDE) STRAIGHT ON SUBWAY. In good original condition with some chipping to the bottom corners. Complete with original hanging hooks. Measure s 34in x 10in.

Allocated to Doncaster, Mexborough, Sheffield Darnal from where it was withdrawn in January 1959 and scrapped at Gorton works. Diamond shaped cast brass, face restored. Measures 13.75in x 5.25in.

Smokebox numberplate 30232 ex LSWR Adams 02 0-4-4T built at Nine Elms in 1895 and numbered LSWR 232, SR 232 and later BR 30232. Allocated to 72A Exmouth Junction for most of its working life and withdrawn from there in September 1959 and scrapped at Eastleigh Works. In original condition with the Eastleigh triangle cast in the back. A rare chance to obtain a smokebox numberplate from this popular class.

Withdrawn from Bescot February 1999, it was cut up by staff of HNRC at Old Oak Common April 2004. Rectangular cast aluminium, face restored. Measures 13in x 6.5in.

Stainless steel Intercity Swallow, right hand facing, as removed from Class 82 DVT 82118. Measures 34.5in long and is in excellent as removed condition.
Cast aluminium cabside numerals D1015 ex British Railways diesel hydraulic locomotive named Western Champion. Built at Swindon in 1963 and allocated to 88A Cardiff Canton, withdrawn from Landore in December 1976 and purchased for preservation. These were possibly removed by one of the fitters at Landore when they became loose in service. Included with the lot is a copy of the collectors corner sale lists for July 1977 showing that one side of Western Champion nameplate was sold with its cabside backing plate only. Numbers all in ex service condition and letter D is correct replacement that was made at Swindon pre 1974 but not carried. Note the Collectors corner sale lists also confirm that 1051 was sold complete.

Nameplate CIR MHOR ex British Railways Class 60 Diesel 60030 built by Brush Traction Loughborough as works number 932 in 1990. Nameplates were applied when built and removed in June 1997. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition measures 33 .5in x 9.75in. Cir Mhor is a mountain on the Isle of Arran and is also known as the Matterhorn of Arran.

Smokebox numberplate 6971 ex Hawksworth modified Hall class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1947 and named ATHELHAMPTON HALL. Allocated to Bristol Bath Road and 84E Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in October 1964 and scrapped the following year at Cash more's Great Bridge. In original condition as stored since 1965. In lightly face restored condition.
Modern image station sign LONDON MIDLAND RUGELEY TRENT VALLEY. Fully flanged enamel in excellent condition measures 39.5in x 19.75in.
Worksplate DARLINGTON 1950 No 2114 ex Ivatt 4MT 2-6-0 numbered 43072. Allocated to Darlington, Middlesborough, Thornaby, Wakefield, Low Moor and 56B Ardsley it was withdrawn after an accident on the 10th November 1964 when its was working a train of twenty one empty wagons from Ardsley. The driver lost control at Laisterdyke and ran into Adolphus St. goods yard at an estimated speed of 50 mph. Before demolishing the buffers the crew jumped clear and the train crashed through a wall to fall 30ft into Dryden Street below. The 14 year old locomotive was considered beyond economic repair was cut up in the road 4 days later by G.W.Butler of Laisterdyke. Oval engraved brass, face lightly cleaned. Measures 12.25in x 6.25in. Please note we sold the smokebox numberplate from the same loco in July 2022.
