Great Western Railway Hotels silverplate large Wine / Champagne ice bucket. Marked with GWR Coat Of Arms and GREAT WESTERN ROYAL HOTEL base marked L & B. In excellent condition measures 9.5in tall x 7.5in diameter. The Great Western Royal Hotel P addington was opened in 1854 by Prince Albert and is now the Great Western Hotel (Hilton London Paddington). A stunning piece from this Grade 2 listed building.
Great Western Railway Hotels silverplate teapot with the GWR Twin Shield coat of arms one side and GWR TREGENNA CASTLE HOTLE in garter on the other. Base marked Elkington plate Sheffield and date marked for 1929. I excellent condition stands 5in tall , rare to find one in this condition from this famous hotel.
South Eastern Railway wooden mile marker 73 1/2. This is from the Appledore to New Romney Branch between Lydd town and Dungeness. The section remains open for removal of nuclear waste from Dungeness Power station. Later on these signs would have been replaced with cast iron ones. In good as removed condition measures 13in x 10.75in. A rare survivor from circa 1883.

Worksplate AVELING & PORTER ENGINEERS ROCHESTER KENT ENGLAND BY ROYAL LETTERS PATENT No2350 1888 ex 10 ton single cylinder road roller. Dispatched new to Kirkleatham UDC Yorkshire, then to Redcar UDC and lastly to Bomford & Evershed Salford P riors. It was scrapped in the late 1930's. Oval engraved brass, face polished, and complete with most of the original black wax infill. Measures 10in x 7.5in.

Works numberplate 61399 1951 ex LNER Thompson B1 4-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Company as works number 26858 and was the last B1 built. Allocated to Stratford, Norwich Thorpe, Sheffield Darnall and 41D Canklow from where it was withdraw n in September 1963 and scrapped at Marples & Gillott, Sheffield. This locomotive is also recorded as working on Royal Train duties including a tour of East Anglia by the late HRH Duke of Edinburgh. Oval engraved brass face lightly cleaned, measures 12.25in x 6.5in. These brass numberplates were fitted on the frames as well as worksplates.

Diamond shaped cast brass, face restored, measures 13.5in x 5.5in, this is probably a Cowlairs made replacement.
Worksplate SHARP STEWART & CO LIMITED ATLAS WORKS GLASGOW 3735 1891 ex London Chatham and Dover Railway Kirtley R 0-4-4T numbered LC&DR 212, SECR 671, SR A671, SR 1671 and BR 31671. Allocated to Tonbridge, Faversham and 73D Gillingham from wh ere it was withdrawn in November 1954 and scrapped. Oval cast brass in lightly cleaned condition measures 15.75in x 8in. This is the large pattern of these worksplates that is seldom seen.

Ex 0-4-0 ST Delivered to Wingates Limestone Quarry, Durham, then to Northumberland Collieries, Rothbury by 1921, then to Shanks & McEwan for use on building Farnsfie ld to Ollerton Branch (Notts), completed 1932. Left on site and scrapped in 1942. Rectangular cast brass face restored, measures 17in x 7.5in.

Lightly face cleaned with 75077 chalked on the back.

Allocated to Stoke, Bescot, Sutton Oak, Carlisle Upperby and 12D Workington from where it was withdrawn from in November 1964 and scrapped at Arnott Young Dudley Hill. Circular cast brass lightly face cleaned, measures 7.75in diameter.
Worksplate LMS BUILT DERBY. Ex S&DJR Fowler 7F 2-8-0 53806, built by Robert Stephenson and Company in 1925 and taken into LMS stock in 1930 when presumably these plates were fitted. Allocated to 71G Bath Green Park for all of its working life and withdrawn in July 1964 and scrapped at Cashmores Newport. Oval cast brass face restored, measures 10.25in x 6in. Comes with a receipt from BR Stoke dated February 1966 but this does not mention the loco number.

Worksplate ex Russian Railways 1946 8453. From a Soviet Railways 5ft Gauge Class L 2-10-0 built by the Ministry of Transport at Kolomensky (Коло́менский) / Kolomna number unknown but numbers 0003-0078 were built that year. These were the principal Ru ssian post-war freight design and many formed part of the Russian steam reserve until mass withdrawals began in the late 1980s. In 1992 over 3000 still remained in stock. The shape of the plate represents a stylised steam loco. Cast aluminium in as removed condition, measures 31in x 10.5in and is from the left hand side.
Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK & Co LTD 7602 BEYER GARRATT LOCOMOTIVE MANCHESTER 1953. Ex Rhodesian Railways Class 14A 4-8-2 + 2-8-4 numbered 523. Sold to Selebi Phikwe Copper mine in Botswana in 1995 and numbered L0810. After the mines closed 523 was sold to Bushtracks in Livingstone Zambia where it survives for tourist operation. Oval cast brass face lightly restored , measures 10.5in x 6.5in.
