Great Northern Railway 8in mahogany cased fusee clock by John Walker of London. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good clean condition. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door wit h lock removed and secured with a brass latch and is in good condition and retains its original cast brass bezel. The dial has been repainted post 1948 by the clock workshops at Doncaster and now displays BR(E) 9242. The LNER clock records confirm that clock No 9242 was in use at Bingham Station office Notts and was transferred to March in 1982 to be sold. A nice 19th century Walker timepiece in working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the clock record, but not tested for timekeeping.
British Railways Western Region railway clock. The 6 inch dial with Arabic numerals is mounted in its original bakelite case with a chromed cast bezel stamped BR-W. The rear of the case is stamped BR-W 4218 and so is the movement housing. The Smiths 7 day going barrel movement is in good working condition as is the rest of the clock.
LMS 8 inch dial oak cased railway clock with a Smiths Empire going barrel movement with platform escapement. The original dial is lettered LMS 16844. In very good original working condition complete with key, the back box is marked in pencil Bescot w hich was probably it service location.
Great Eastern Railway 6inch Mahogany cased Fusee Bracket clock supplied to the G.E.R. by Bevan of Tottenham London circa 1880. The English chain driven fusee movement has rectangular snailed plates, the original dial has been lightly restored in orig inal style and displays G.E.R it retains its original cast brass bezel and sight ring. The Gothic style carved mahogany case has a glazed rear door with a keyed lock and the clock number 907 is pencilled inside. The L.N.E.R. records show that this clock was used at Liverpool Street Land Agent, Inner Office, Hamilton Buildings office. A rare and unusual Railway timepiece used by senior employees, complete with pendulum, keys and a copy of the LNER clock record. In working condition but not tested for timekeeping, stands 15in tall. This clock is featured on page 163 Fig 5.48 of the Railway Clock book by Ian Lyman.
London and North Western Railway 12 inch dial mahogany cased fusee railway clock supplied to the LNWR around 1870-1880 by W.H.Rees of Abergavenny. The rectangular plated wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars. The mahoga ny case with a BR-W ivorine numberplate 4327 screwed to the right hand side has a thin one piece turned surround dovetailed back box with one side door and a replaced bottom door. The original dial is lettered W.H.REES ABERGAVENNY. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. Rees supplied clocks to the LNWR including lines on the Heads of the Valleys which later came under Western Region control
Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway brass fusee clock key stamped four times L&YR Co. A rare survivor as not many original railway company clock keys are known.
Eastern Counties Railway 14 inch mahogany cased English fusee convex dial railway clock supplied to the railway circa 1850-55. The brass chain driven movement has rectangular plates with turned pillars and is stamped GER and is nicely cleaned conditi on. The case with a one piece turned surround, cast brass bezel, one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock also retains its green baize lining to the front of the back box. The convex steel dial has been lightly restored to the correct GER lettering and LNER is now visible as ghosted writing, the GER ivorine clock numberplate 4003 is screwed to the dial below the winding hole. The LNER clock records show that this clock as being last in use at Mistley Station Booking Hall and a copy accompanies the clock. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and keys. Rare to find a genuine convex dial railway clock. A picture of the clock is featured in the Railway Clock book by Ian Lyman page 161 Fig 5.39.
Great Western Railway 12in dial teak cased drop dial railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement with rectangular plates and turned shaped pillars. The case with a one piece wooden surround, original cast brass bezel hinged to the left a nd secured with a keyed bezel lock, two side access doors and a bottom door secured with a lock, the original ivorine G.W.R. 282 numberplate screwed onto the front. The dial has been repainted at the GWR Clock works Reading post 1949 and displays BR-W. Also with the clock is a correctly painted GWR aluminium dial overlay which could easily be re-instated over the original. An early GWR clock probably supplied by John Walker in the mid 19th century. In full working order complete with pendulum and keys and detailed fact sheet of its restoration by Dr. D. R. Parr.
Rhymney Railway 12in oak cased chain driven fusee railway clock. The oak case with eight piece surround has two side doors and a bottom door secured with the typical GWR ball bearing catch. The GWR ivorine numberplate 729 is screwed onto the left han d side. The large A frame chain driven fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial with GWR in roundel style has visible as ghosted writing Spiridion & Son R.R.Co Cardiff 112. In lovely original working condition recently oiled and keeping good time, complete with pendulum and key.
London & North Eastern Railway 10 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement, supplied to the LNER circa 1940. The original dial displays BR(NE) ghosted and 6811. The case is hinged to th e front and secured with a brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at York Estate & Rating Surveyors Office Room 76. In good working order recently oiled complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the LNER clock record.
British Railways Midland Region 12inch oak cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a Smiths going barrel platform escapement movement. The original Arabic dial is lettered BR(M) 23761. In good working order and has recently been oiled and adj usted complete with key. Circa 1950.
GWR brass drum clock with original enamel dial GWR KAY & CO PARIS. Stamped 4401 on the case, back and 4042 on the movement. The French movement has had the GWR modified winder fitted. In working condition recently oiled. Dial measures 3.25in dia meter and is free from chips and has a few minor hairline cracks.
London & South Western Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a cast brass bezel and a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement. Supplied to the LSWR circa 1880 by John Walker London. The original dial displays BR(S) JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON 4422 SW. The case has one side door and a bottom door. The Southern Railway clock records show this clock as last in use at Ryde IOW Railwaymen's sports and social club and previously at Dena Crossing Whitwell before closure of the line. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. A rare chance to obtain a genuine Isle Of Wight clock as this is first one in decades to come onto the open market.
Southern Railway nickel cased pocket Watch with a Swiss Phenix 15 Jewel movement, top wound and set. Dial is free from chips and cracks and the rear of the case is machine engraved S.R. 3889, in good working condition but not checked for accuracy. Co mplete with a hallmarked silver watch fob and chain and a NUR members enamel pendant.
Great Western railway post grouping Pocket Watch with Swiss Record 15 Jewel movement, top wound and set. Dial is marked RECORD and is free from chips and the rear of the case is machine engraved G.W.R. 0.1187, there is a small chip in the thick origi nal bevelled glass. In excellent working condition.
London Brighton & South Coast Railway Pocket Watch No 538. Key wound and key set Brass American Watch Co. Waltham Mass. movement No. 8760283 which was produced circa 1898. Hall-marked Sterling silver .925 Birmingham 1899 and inside of case engrav ed with full company name and 538, case also marked A&B 189. Dial enamelled L.B & S.C.R. And is free from chips and. In working condition complete with key but not tested for accuracy. Rare to see the company name on the dial of LB&SCR watches.
LYR Cast iron gate plaque from Liverpool Exchange Station. This was situated on the lattice gate post between platforms 3 & 4. It was saved by a collector who worked at the station then sold to the late Stuart Furniss and came up for sale when hi s collection was auctioned in 2016 and bought back by the same original owner.
