Diesel Bogie plate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY LTD GLASGOW BOGIE No. 6306/67 BUILT 1960 Ex British Railways Class 22 diesel hydraulic. Diamond shape cast brass in as removed condition measures 6.25in x 2.625. Along with a cast aluminium plate MA XIMUM OPERATING SPEED 90 MPH measures 6in x 6in. From one of the locomotives that was scrapped at Swindon.

Smokebox numberplate 44165 ex LMS Fowler 4F 0-6-0 built at Crewe in 1926 and numbered LMS 4165. Allocated to Sheffield Grimesthorpe, Saltley and 9L Buxton from where it was withdrawn in December 1959 and scrapped at T.W. Ward, Killamarsh. Partially restored.

GWR brass cabside numberplate 4994 ex GWR Collett Hall 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1931 and named Downton Hall. Allocated to Reading and 81E Didcot from where it was withdrawn in August 1963 and scrapped at Cashmore's (Newport). In lightly cleaned cond ition with boiler and class details stamped in the rim. Downton Hall was near Craven Arms Shropshire.
London Transport Underground enamel target/bullseye sign SWISS COTTAGE. This pre war one piece sign is in very good condition with a painted wooden facsimile frame for display. Measures 24in x 18in.

Named Lord Stamp Apr 1992 to Aug 2002, Keith Hooper Sep 2002 to Mar 2004 and Sir John Betjeman Nov 2006 to May 2020 while operated by Anglia Railways. Sold to Freightliner and still in service. Oval cast aluminium measuring 9.25in x 5.25in. In as removed condition with a repair to the left hand end and 90007 written on the back
LNWR Fletchers Double Line mahogany cased Block Instrument, ivorine plated BROOME stamped L&NWRY No 2334 on the back. In very good ex railway condition complete with bell, both needles move freely. From a box on the Heart of Wales Line between Sh rewsbury and Swansea.

Allocated to Norwich Thorpe, Ardsley, Sheffield Darnall, Canklow, Doncaster and 41J Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn in February 1966 after being used as a stationary boiler for train heating, scrapped at Arnott Young (Parkgate). Diamond shaped cast brass face restored, measures 13.5in x 5.5in.

Nameplate GILLIAN ex Hunslet Barclay 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic shunter works no. HAB 6769/1990. This rebuilt loco was hired to Ebbw Vale Steelworks in 1990, along with two others, and named after a female employee in line with the company's policy . The steelworks closed in 2002. Cast brass lightly face restored measures 23.5in x 6.25in.
Nameplate DOLHYWEL GRANGE ex GWR Collett Grange Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1939 as order number 308 and numbered 6863. Allocated to Old Oak Common, St Philips Marsh, Oxley, Laira, Reading and 88A Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn in November 1964 and scrapped at R.S. Hayes/Birds, Tremains Yard, Bridgend. In original condition with L 6863 stamped in the back indicating this is the left hand side plate. The Grange was at Trecastle Powys.

Rectangular stainless steel in as removed condition and measures 9in x 4in. A rare plate.

Allocated t o Thornton Junction and 65F Grangemouth from where it was withdrawn in November 1963 and scrapped at J. McWilliams, Shettleston. Oval cast brass face restored measures 9.5in x 5.75in.

BR(M) FF enamel Signalbox board WOODHEAD. From the box that was situated at the Manchester end of the down platform of Woodhead station which opened in 1954 with the opening of the new Woodhead Tunnel on the ex Great Central Railway line between Shef field & Manchester which closed in 1981. In very good condition with a couple of face chips and loss of shine, measures 66in x 12in and comes complete with its original wooden mounting frame. A truly evocative name.
Tyers No6 brass and steel single line tablet HEACHAM - HUNSTANTON from the former Great Eastern Railway line in Norfolk from Kings Lynn to Hunstanton which closed in 1969. Machine engraved in very good condition.

GWR HOTELS AND CATERING DEPARTMENT LIGHT LUNCH BOX with adverts on the sides for the Fishguard and Tregenna castle hotels, measures 7in x 5.25in x 2.25in and is in excellent condition and maybe a sole survivor . Together with a GWR RD (Refreshment Department) Luncheon Basket fork.

Nameplate CARN BREA CASTLE ex GWR Collett Castle Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1948 as order number 367 and numbered 7015. Allocated to Swindon, Bristol Bath Road, Stafford Road, Shrewsbury and 81A Old Oak Common from where it was withdrawn in Apri l 1963 and scrapped at Cashmore's Newport. In lightly cleaned condition with R scratched one the back indicating this is the right hand side plate. Carn Brae Castle was an ancient fortress near to Redruth in Cornwall.

Oval cast brass in restored condition, measures 9in x 5in.
Worksplate GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION Designed & Manufactured with Alstom at Valencia, Spain. Model JT42HW-HS, Serial 968742-25, Class 67, 04-00. Ex Class 67 67025. Arrived at Newport Docks May 2000 and first allocated to Cardiff Canton. Named We stern Star at Cardiff Central station Sep 2001. Stored in 2008 in the Crewe tactical reserve pool until Nov 2012 when moved to the Chiltern Railways fleet until Dec 2014. Stored at Crewe EMD until hired by DB Cargo to Transport for Wales Jun 2021 and still in service. Rectangular Stainless Steel in as removed condition. Measures 12in x 4in.

British Railways locomotive headboard THE ABERDONIAN as used on the former London King's Cross - Aberdeen Sleeping car train from 1927. This the first pattern of BR board carried from the early 1950's and regularly hauled by A2 locomotives. Cast alum inium with mounting bracket, In lightly face restored condition. This board was acquired from the vendors late cousin some years ago and is believed to be the one that was used on June 1966 steam special from London Waterloo to Aberdeen and return, organised by Warwickshire Railway Society.

Worksplate LMS REBUILT 1921 DERBY most likely to be from a Midland Railway 3F 0-6-0 which were rebuilt with G7 boiler or a smaller number of Midland Railway 2P 4-4-0 that were rebuilt with G8AS boilers and in some cases larger cylinders and also 3 Mi dland compounds were also rebuilt with G9AS boilers that year. Oval cast brass face cleaned and rear has Pattern No4 cast into it measures 10.25in x 6in.

Allocated new to 55A Leeds Holbeck and withdrawn from 64H Leith Central in December 1967 and scrapped at G H Campbell Air drie. Oval cast brass measuring 11.5in x 8in. In as removed condition.

In very good condition and certainly a rare survivor, possibly used on the LNWR Paddle Steamer on the Holyhead to Dun Loaghaire route.
