Nameplate KING GEORGE VI ex Great Western Railway Collet King Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1930 as order number 267 and numbered 6028. Allocated to Newton Abbot and 81A Old Oak Common from where it was withdrawn in November 1962 and scrapped at Bi rds Risca. In original condition. The only King class named after a King that is still in living memory the father and our late Queen Elizabeth and Grandfather of our current King Charles III.

Worksplate GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY (Filled In) MAKERS DONCASTER No 1414 1913 ex Gresley J51/50 0-6-0 T numbered GNR 157, LNER 3157, 3180, 8890 and BR 68890. Allocated to Doncaster, Mexborough, Hornsey and 37A Ardsley from where it was withdrawn March 1961 and scrapped at Doncaster Works. Oval engraved brass, face lightly cleaned, rear stamped 8890. Measures 12.25in x 7.5in.
Industrial locomotive brass cabside numberplate 5. Oval cast brass face restored measures 13.75in x 11in. Believed to have originated from Cornwall.
Great Northern Railway 3 Aspect Handlamp small pattern with a LNER saucer type top. Brass plated GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY WOODSIDE PARK 4 and steel relocation plate SOMERSHAM. Complete with BR(E) reservoir and all glasses, blue cracked. In good original condition.

BR(W) enamel railway station running in board NAILSEA AND BACKWELL. From the former Great Western railway station between Bristol and Yatton. Two piece enamel measuring 64in x 42in and 66in x 42in both in very good condition with minor edge chipping.
Llandudno & Colwyn Bay Electric Railway enamel destination sign LLANDUDNO. As used on the front of the tramcars on the route from Old Colywn to Llandudno. In good condition with minor edge chipping and a little crazing, a rare survivor. Measures 22.25in x 4in.
BR(E) FF enamel station direction sign OAKLEIGH PARK STATION with British Railways totem and left facing arrow. From the former Great Northern Railway station between New Southgate and New Barnet. In good condition with some face chip executed restor ation, measures 28in x 13in.
Worksplate BEYER PEACOCK & CO LTD 1920 MANCHESTER. Probably from a South African Railways 15AR Mountain Class 4-8-2 in the number range SAR 1839-1858 which were built by Beyer Peacock in this year. Oval cast brass in as removed condition with tra ces of red paint under the black. Measures 9.875in x 5.75in.

Worksplate BRUSH SULZER No. 662 1965. Ex British Railways Class 47 diesel originally numbered D1900 becoming 47381 Feb 1974. Allocated new to 40B Immingham Sep 1965 and withdrawn from there Jun 1992. Stored at Scunthorpe West Yard from Feb 1993 until moved to MC Processors, Glasgow and scrapped Oct 1994. Oval cast aluminium, face restored measures 9.5in x 5.75in.
Totem BR(S) FF BERE ALSTON from the former London & South Western Railway station between Exeter and Plymouth. In virtually mint condition. One of only a few Southern Region Devon totems.
Nameplate VALE OF YORK ex British Railways Class 59 diesel numbered 59201. Loco arrived at King George V dock at Hull from Canada on 17th Feb 1994 and allocated to FB Ferrybridge for owner National Power. Named at the National Railway Museum, York on 4th March 1994 by Colin Webster, Managing Director of National Power. Nameplates removed in March 2012. Loco still in service with Freightliner. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition. Measures 25.5in x 5.875in. Comes with original DB Schenker authenticity certificate.
Nameplate TENTERDEN ex Hawthorn Leslie 2-4-0T built in 1899 as works number 2420 and supplied new to the Rother Valley Railway for the opening of the line and numbered 1. Withdrawn in 1936 and sold for scrap in 1941. Rectangular cast brass in as remo ved condition measures 37.25in x 4.25in. A superb plate from this Colonel Stephens line, the other side is in the National collection and currently on loan to the Colonel Stephens museum.
Smokebox numberplate 42080 ex LMS Fairburn 4P 2-6-4T built at Brighton in 1950. Allocated to Stewarts Lane, Bricklayers Arms, Neasden, Kirkby In Ashfield, Willesden, Stoke, Barrow in Furness and 9E Trafford Park from where it was withdrawn in January 1967 and scrapped at Cashmore's Great Bridge. Lightly face restored with BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast in the back.

Ex British Railways Class 04 diesel shunter D2337. Allocated new to 51A Darlington Aug 1961 and withdrawn from there Jul 1968. Sold to the NCB and used mainly at Manvers Main Coal Preparation Plant, Wath named Dorothy. Sold for preservation and moved to South Yorks R.P.S. at Attercliffe and later Meadowhall. Currently stored out of use at the Heritage Shunters Trust, Peak Rail. Oval cast brass face lightly cleaned, measures 8in x 5in.
Nameplate BUTLEIGH COURT ex GWR Churchward Saint Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in December 1911 and numbered 2934. Allocated to Newton Abbot and 82C Swindon from where it was withdrawn in June 1952 and scrapped. In nicely restored condition. Butleigh Court was near Glastonbury Somerset.

Works makers plate THE AVONSIDE ENGINE CO LIMITED REBUILT BY 1923 BRISTOL ex 0-6-0ST Avonside works number 1432 1902 which was delivered new to Lime Firms Llandebie Ironworks Pentre Gwenlais Carmarthen and named Eleanor, scrapped in August 1960. Oval cast brass, in face restored condition, measures 10.25in x 6.5in. The worksplate from this locomotive was sold in our November auction Lot 34.

Diamond shaped cast brass in lightly face restored condition. Measures 13.5in x 5.5in.
Flamecut cabside panel 33212 ex British Railways Diesel locomotive built by built by BRCW in 1962 as works number DEL 168 and originally numbered D6597. Allocated new to 73C Hither Green and withdrawn from Longsight in September 1987 and scrapped at Eastleigh works. In good condition complete with data panel and all angle removed. Measures 33.25in x 20.25in. The last of the class 33 locomotives to be built.

GPO Jubilee Telephone box interior as fitted to the K6 telephone boxes. Complete with an original Pre decimal A-B no 14 coin box Container No1 and Container No2 and what appears to be a 232 phone. In very good condition and suitable for use in a K6 T elephone box restoration.

Rectangular chromed brass, face restored measures 10.25in x 4.625in.

Smokebox numberplate 6949 ex GWR Collett modified Hall class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1942 and named HABERFIELD HALL. Converted to a oil burning locomotive in 1947 and numbered 3955, converted back to coal burning in 1949 and re numbered 6949. Alloc ated to Laira, Banbury, Swindon, Stafford Road, Taunton and 84G Shrewsbury from where it was withdrawn in May 1961 and scrapped at Swindon works. In lightly face restored condition.
North British Railway enamel doorplate PASSENGERS FORWARD OF THIS PAY FIRST CLASS FARE. From one of the North British railway owned ex Galloway Saloon Steam Packet Companies ships. In very good condition with minor edge chipping, measures 20in x 7in. A copy of a hand written receipt accompanies the lot confirming its provenance.
GWR combined nameplate, number and worksplate, BRASENOSE 3321 Reg.No. 1744 GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY SWINDON WORKS (Nov 1899 ground off, painted in). Rear stamped 3333. New in November 1899, this Dean 4-4-0 Bulldog was numbered 3333 until Dec 1912 when the last two digits were ground off and the 2 and 1 were riveted on. The numbers are face stamped in th edge ENGINE CLASS 4-4-0 25 and BOILER CLASS BA. Withdrawn April 1935 and cut up at Swindon Works. Measures 25.5in x 17in. Named after one of the famous Oxford colleges, a superb plate that has never appeared at auction before.
Great Western Railway lower quadrant wooden post Calling on Signal. Complete with enamel arms, post, finial, ladder, lamp bracket, lamp, rodding and balance weight. Stands 88in tall less the finial a complete signal ready to erect. NOTE Successful bu yer will have to arrange removal from our premises and will require a van and 2 people.

Delivered to the Channel Tunnel group and used during the construction of the tunnel. Oval cast bras s in lightly cleaned condition measuring 11.5in x 8in. A plate from one of the locomotives that worked on the most significant engineering feat of the 20th Century.
