London Brighton and South Coast Railway teak cased 7.5 inch dial weight driven regulator railway clock supplied to the LB&SCR in 1863 at a cost of 12-10-0d by Richard Webster of Cornhill London. The dial retains its original LB&SCR 246 dial w riting and the case is also stamped 246B and retains its LB&SCR Winding and regulating label and stands 55in tall. The large brass rectangular plated movement has four spoke wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power, wooden pendulum rod with a zinc bob, brass cased weight and weight pulley. The Southern railway clock records show it was used at Kemp Town Junction signal box and also at the Assistant Station Masters office Brighton Station. One of 44 of this type of clock supplied for use in signal boxes, In good working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the clock record. Possibly a sole survivor with its original dial painting.

British Railways Southern Region 12 inch oak cased fusee railway clock with a rectangular plated wire driven Astral English fusee movement, supplied by John Walker London. The original dial displays BR(S) JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON 11944 an d the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. The SR clock records show this clock as last in use at Southfields Station Booking office. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the clock record.

Great Northern Railway 8in mahogany cased fusee railway clock by John Walker of London. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good clean condition. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and is in nicely restored condition and retains its original cast brass bezel. The dial has been restored by Dr D.R. Parr from its later BR dial writing and clock number 10583 and now displays its original dial writing and the clock number GNR 905. The LNER clock records confirm that clock No 10583 was originally GNR 905 and was in use at Saxilby Kesteven Sidings Cabin. A nice 19th century Walker timepiece In full working order complete with pendulum, keys, copy of the clock record and detailed fact sheet of its restoration by Dr. D. R. Parr.

British Railways Southern Region 8 inch oak cased fusee railway clock with a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement, supplied to the Southern region in 1959 by Stockall, Marples & Co at a cost of 11-5-0d. The original dial displays BR(S) 11649 and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. In working order recently oiled, but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. The SR clock records show this clock in use at Dorking Deepdene Hotel Accounts office, sold to Mr Parsons. However the British Railways Southern region original receipt made out to Mr Parsons states the clock as having come from Mayfield Signal box so obviously the clock was transferred but not recorded in the records. A copy of the Southern Railway clock record accompanies the lot as does the original purchase receipts.

South Eastern & Chatham Railway 12in dial oak cased drop dial railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement which has rectangular plates with turned pillars and stamped on the back plate SE&CRY G&B. The case is in ex railway co ndition and is missing the right hand side door and part of the bottom door and the back box is stamped 1409.SE on the side, it also retains its original cast brass bezel. The dial is screen printed JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON and lettered B.R.(S) 1409.S.E. The Southern Railway records show this clock as last being in use at Yeovil Junction Engineers Department and previously at the Loco Running Foreman's Office, Margate and Clerks Office, Ramsgate and previously at Charing Cross Main Line Booking Office. In working condition complete with pendulum which is stamped 1409 and key and a copy of the SR Clock record.

British Railways Eastern Region 6 inch mahogany cased mantle clock. The original dial shows BR(E) 13860 and SMITHS EMPIRE. The mahogany case retains its original cast brass bezel and is stamped underneath 13860. The Smiths 7 day going barrel movement with platform escapement is in good working condition and has been recently cleaned and oiled. The LNER clock records show this clock as last being in use at Southend on Sea Central Station Line Traffic Manager accounting office Sutton Road. Comes complete with key and a copy of the clock record. Measures 10.5in x 9.25in x 3.75in deep.

Great Eastern Railway 12 inch teak cased fusee railway clock manufactured for the Great Eastern Railway circa 1870–1880. The quality chain driven English fusee movement in fully overhauled condition has rectangular plates, which are held together by turned pillars. The Back plate has GER stamped in as was sometimes the practice. The teak case is in original condition with a one piece turned surround and a cast brass bezel. There is evidence of baize being applied under the dial as was common practice by the GER, the ivorine number plate 4062 is fixed to the inside of the box and the back of the box is lightly branded GER twice. The enamel painted iron dial with roman numerals bearing the legend B.R.(E) 4062 and this would have been re written post 1948 by the LNER clock work shops at Doncaster. The clock also retains its original Brass Heart shaped hands. The LNER clock records show that this clock was last located at Colchester St Botolph’s Station Goods Office. In good working condition complete with keys and a copy of the clock record.

Great Western Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial railway clock with a chain driven fusee movement that has rectangular plates. The mahogany case has an 4 piece segmented wooden surround, one side access door and a bottom door secured with a bra ss turn, the GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 275 is pinned to the left hand side of the case. The restored dial has GWR in the roundel style and has some minor paint flaking. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.

Great Western Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock supplied to the GWR circa 1900 by Kay's Worcester. The chain driven English fusee movement with rectangular plates and turned screwed pillars has been restored and clean ed to a good standard. The mahogany case with a four piece segmented wooden surround, two side access doors and a bottom door with the lock removed is in good condition and the GWR ivorine clock numberplate GWR 3305 is screwed to the left hand side of the case. The dial has been restored with the GWR roundel and has a spun brass bezel. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.

Eastern Union Railway 14 inch Mahogany cased fusee railway clock manufactured and supplied to the EUR in 1855 by Ebenezer Beaven of Tottenham London. The quality chain driven English fusee movement in good condition has rectangular plates, which are held together by turned pillars. The mahogany case is in original condition with ornate decoration and a cast brass bezel and inscribed in ink on the inside of the case is E.BEAVEN EUR 6/55. The enamel painted iron dial is in original condition with roman numerals bearing the legend LNER and GER ivorine clock numberplate 3065 and also visible as ghosted writing G.E.R. The LNER clock records show that this clock was in use at Needham Station booking office. In good working condition complete with key and a copy of the clock record. A truly historic timepiece, Beaven became one the main suppliers of clocks to the Great Eastern Railway and Ebenezer's son was later to take charge of the Great Eastern Railways clock workshops at Stratford.

Taff Vale Railway 12 inch mahogany cased railway clock. The original dial is lettered GWR in the roundel style and ghosted Collings Cardiff. The English wire driven fusee movement with shaped shoulders and cut out to the bottom has been recently been lightly cleaned and oiled and has repair dates of 1881, 87 and 94 scratched on. The mahogany case has 2 side doors and bottom door with GWR ball bearing catch is in good ex service condition. The GWR ivorine numberplate GWR 2368 is screwed to the left hand side. A lovely timepiece supplied by J. Collings of Cardiff circa 1870. In full recently overhauled working condition complete with pendulum and key.

Great Western Railway brass clock winding key. Stamped GWR and 9. A rare item as not many original keys survive with railway company markings.

Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway nickel cased pocket watch with a American Waltham Watch Co 15 Jewel movement No 9570906 which dates this watch to 1900, top wound and top set. The dial is enamelled Fattorini & Sons Ltd Bradford 9570906 and is f ree from cracks and chips. The rear of the case is hand engraved L&Y in the earlier style. In good working condition.

North London Railway Guards watch by Thwaites & Reed. A brass and mahogany cased fusee Guards Watch dating from circa 1850. The brass case is hand engraved on the back brass cover N.L.R. Co 32. and the dial enamelled THWAITES & REED LONDON an d has a couple of hairline cracks. The English Lever fusee movement is Key wound and key set and engraved Thwaites & Reed London 15527. In working condition complete with key. A very early watch from one of the smaller British Railway companies.

All are signed by the author and all numbered 7/100 and in excellent condition but Volume 2 which has a small tape repair to the rear of the dust jacket.. A chance to obtain all of these in one go as some are now out of print and the first set we have seen with Volume number 8 signed.
