Shedplate 87F Llanelly 1949-10/65. This ex GWR shed housed 90 locos in the 50s, and during its BR life it had a sprinkling of Halls and Granges. Its final year’s allocation of 22 included 3 ex LMS 8F 2-8-0s. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 87K Swansea Victoria 1949-August 1959. This ex LNWR shed, formally coded 4A by the LMS, became part of the WR in 1949, when it was home to 50 locos. It retained a substantial allocation of 55 locos right up to closure. Face restored with co rrect Swindon casting marks to rear and edge. A rare plate.
Shedplate 88A Cardiff Cathays 1949-December 1957, then Cardiff Radyr December 1957-October 1960, then Cardiff Canton October 1960-September 1962. The ex TVR shed at Cathays had an allocation of 80 locos, while ex GWR shed Radyr had 55 locos during th is period. Ex GWR Canton’s allocation of 130 included 12 Britannias until September 1961. Canton closed to steam in September 1962 and became a diesel depot. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 88B Cardiff East Dock 1949 - March 1958, then Radyr October 1960-July 1965. The former GWR depot at East Dock was home to 60 locos in the 1950s which included an exotic collection of antiquated tank engines. The depot was run down and los t its allocation in 1958, but was to rise from the ashes in September 1962, now coded 88L, when it inherited all of Cardiff Cantons steam allocation; Castles, Halls, Granges and Manors now graced the shed. Ex GWR shed Radyr had taken this code over in 1960 which had around 50 locos during this period. Face restored with clear later style Swindon casting number U291 in the front.
Shedplate 88C Barry 1949-September 1964. This ex Barry Rly shed was home to over 80 locos in the early 1950s but by 1960 this had dwindled to just 25. Noted for its pre group 0-6-2Ts in the 1950s, it received 10 BR 82XXX 2-6-2Ts for just one year in 1957. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 88H Tondu January 1961-March 1964 Formerly 86F, this ex GWR shed housed around 40 locos during the early 1960s. In original condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 88J Aberdare September 1960-March 1965. This ex GWR shed was originally coded 86J. Under its new code it housed nearly 50 locos. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 89A Oswestry 1948 to January 1961, then Shrewsbury January 1961 to September 1963. The former Cambrian Railway shed had an allocation of around 50 locos including 6 Manors during the 1950s. It was recoded 89D, then 6E and closed in January 1965. The ex GWR/LNWR Joint shed at Shrewsbury, formerly 84G, had an allocation of 100 locos including Counties, Castles, Manors and Halls when using this code. Recoded 6D, it closed to steam in September 1967. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 50G Whitby 1949-April 1959. This ex NER shed housed just 13 locos during the 1950s and by closure had just 5. Restored a long time ago.
Shedplate 89B Brecon 1949-November 1959. This ex B & M shed lost its allocation of 13 locos in November 1959 and became a sub shed of 89A Oswestry. For some reason the WR authorities decided to recode it 88K in January 1961, but no engines were e ver allocated! It remained open until December 1962. In cleaned condition with correct Swindon casting marks to the edge.
Shedplate 89C Machynlleth 1948 to September 1963. This ex Cambrian Railways shed was home to 50 locos in the 1950s. Recoded 6F in 1963, it closed in December 1966. Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 89D Oswestry September 1960-September 1963. During the time this ex Cambrian Railways shed used this code it had an allocation of around 40 locos. Formerly 89A, Oswestry came under the LMR in September1963 when it became 6E; a code it used for just three months prior to closure in January 1964.Face restored with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
Shedplate 82E Yeovil Pen Mill 1949-February 1958, then Bristol Barrow Road February 1958-November 1965. The ex GWR shed at Yeovil housed just 10 locos during this period. It was transferred from the WR to the SR becoming 71H, finally closing in Janua ry 1959. The ex Midland shed at Barrow Road, Bristol was transferred from the MR 22A to the WR in 1958. At this time its allocation of around 50 locos included 3 Patriots and 9 Jubilees. However, by 1965 the depot had been westernised with an allocation that included 11 Halls and 2 Granges in its total of 40 locos. Lightly face restored with clear Swindon casting marks to the rear and edge.
Shedplate 55B York Diesel December 1967-May 1973. The ex NER shed at York took on this code after becoming a diesel depot, finally closing in March 1984, and becoming part of the NRM. In totally original condition complete with original nuts and bolt s.

LMS 8 inch dial oak cased railway clock with a Smiths Empire going barrel movement with platform escapement. The original dial is lettered LMS 17272. In very good original working condition complete with key. A copy of the LMS record accompanies the clock showing it was last in use at Horwich works.
West Lancashire Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial fusee railway clock with wire driven English fusee movement with shaped shoulders and ringed pillars, supplied circa 1860-70. The original dial displays LYR 2220 JAS WATT SOUTHPORT. The case ha s one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn and has a West Lancashire Railway brass numberplate WLR 20, LYR steel clock numberplate No 2220 and LMS brass oval numberplate 8969 screwed onto the sides of the case. A rare clock circa 1878, the WLR was absorbed into the LYR in July 1897. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock.
British Railways Midland Region 8 inch oak cased railway clock with a spun brass bezel and a Smiths going barrel platform escapement movement. The original dial is lettered BR(M) 19482. In working order recently oiled. A nice entry level Railway cloc k circa 1950 ex Rochdale station.
GWR brass drum clock with original enamel dial GWR KAY & CO PARIS. Stamped with matching numbers 3321 on the case, back and movement. The French movement in good working condition recently cleaned and oiled. Dial measures 3.25in diameter and is f ree from chips and cracks. One of the better examples to be offered for sale.
London & North Eastern Railway 10 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement, supplied circa 1940. The original dial displays L.N.E.R. 12673. The case has a spun brass bezel one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Doncaster Works Chief Mechanical & Electrical Engineers Department Shipping Bureau. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the LNER clock record.
North Eastern Railway 8 inch oak cased drop dial clock with a wire driven movement. The rectangular plated wire driven fusee movement is in good clean condition and the original dial is lettered 1743, BR(E) in Ghost and has had LNER re applied. The o ak case has a bottom door and a side door and retains its original cast bezel. This clock was supplied to the North Eastern Railway circa 1870 by Reid and Son of Newcastle On Tyne and the LNER clock records show it was last in use at Blyth Yard Master Stores Superintendent. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the LNER clock record..
Cheshire Lines Joint Committee 12inch Oak cased fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the CLC around 1880. The A framed fusee movement is in good clean condition and the back plate is stamped W&H Sch which are the markings for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany who were one of the main suppliers to the CLC clock contractors. The original white enamel dial lettered SCHURWATER & LLOYD LIVERPOOL C.L.C. No 400 has been lightly restored and the case is in nice original condition. This clock is featured on page 126 of the Railway Clocks book by the late I.P. Lyman and shows the dial before restoration. A rare clock. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.
London and South Western Railway 8 inch Mahogany cased drop dial fusee clock with a cast brass bezel supplied to the LSWR circa 1893 by John Gaydon of Barnstaple at a cost of 2-17-6d. The English fusee movement with rectangular plates held together b y turned tapered pillars has been overhauled and the dial lettered L&SWR JNo GAYDON 128 BARNSTAPLE has been restored by Dr D.R Parr. The Mahogany case is in very good condition and features fine figured mahogany and is stamped in the back 128 S.W. The Southern Railway clock records show that it was last in use at Rye Station Platform and previously Winchelsea Snailham Crossing. Before the grouping this clock would have been located in the West Country possibly at Exeter Central as clocks 126 & 129 were there. Complete and in working condition with pendulum and key, a detailed information sheet from Dr D.R. Parr who carried out the clocks restoration and a copy of the SR Clock record.
Great Central Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel and a rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement. Supplied to the GCR around 1910 by Stockall & Marples of London. The original dial displays L.N.E.R. 9056 and visible as ghosted writing STOCKALL MARPLES & Co LONDON and its original clock number 0.156. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door and is in original good condition. The LNER clock record show this clock as last in use at the Sheffield Bridgehouses Goods Agents office and the copy of the record card shows its was originally GCR clock 0.156. Restored and overhauled by Dr D.R. Parr and complete with comprehensive information sheets, In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys and a copy of the clock record.
North Staffordshire Railway 12 inch mahogany cased fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel and rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement supplied to the NSR in the mid 19th Century. The mahogany case has one side door and a bott om door secured with a brass turn and is stamped on the right hand side with its original NSR clock number 395. The rectangular plated fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial with some light restoration is lettered T.ARMSTRONG & BRo N.S. R.Y. Co MANCHESTER. Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire mahogany cased 12 inch fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel and large A frame chain driven English fusee movement supplied to the MS&L in the mid 19th Century by William McFerran of Manchester. Th e restored dial is lettered W. McFerran M.S.& L Victoria St 137 Manchester, the rear of the dial is painted BR(E) 7453. The Ebonised case is in nicely restored condition with on side door, bottom door secured with a ring pull catch. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Wath Yard Signal Box. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a detailed information sheet from Dr D.R. Parr who carried out the clocks restoration and a copy of the LNER Clock record.
Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire mahogany cased 12 inch Convex dial fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel and rectangular plated chain driven English fusee with shaped shoulders and fitted to the dial by means of a false plate. Suppli ed to the MS&L in 1848 by Isaac Simmons of Manchester. The restored original convex dial is lettered I.Simmons 227 St. Anne's Sqr Manchester and visible as ghosted writing is LNER 8229, the rear of the dial stamped Wright B'Ham and is painted BR(E) 8229. The mahogany case is in nicely restored condition with two sides doors and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Moortown Station Office which was on the line between Barnetby and Lincoln and opened in 1848 which ties in with this clocks date. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a detailed information sheet from Dr D.R. Parr who carried out the clocks restoration and a copy of the LNER Clock record. A superb railway timepiece and certainly one of the earliest to come onto the market.
London Midland and Scottish Railway 8 inch Brass cased ships type clock. Original dial lettered L.M.S. 17502 SMITH ASTRAL. With a rectangular plated Smiths going barrel movement with platform escapement housed in a brass case with a cast brass bezel. In good working condition complete with key.
Midland Railway / Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway 12 inch oak cased fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel and a rectangular plated chain driven English fusee movement with screwed pillars. Supplied post 1910 and the original dial repai nted post 1950 displays BR-W when the ex S&DJR lines were taken over by the Western Region. The oak case has one side door and a bottom door and has it brass LMS clock numberplate 10516 pinned to the left hand side and is in original good condition. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. *Note ex LMS clocks on the S&DJR were numbered alphabetically and it is known Ashcott was clock number 10508 and Bailey Gate numbers 10517-10520 so it can be safely assumed that clock 10516 was from a station with the letters A-B i.e. Bawdrip, Bason Bridge, Binegar or Burnham On Sea.
Great Central Railway oak cased 8 inch fusee railway bracket clock with a cast brass bezel and rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement supplied to the GCR in the latter part 19th Century by Fitton of Heywood. The restored dial is letter ed Fitton Heywood G.C.Ry 972, the rear of the dial is painted BR(E) 11088. The oak case is in nicely restored condition with one side door and a bottom door secured with brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Grimsby Docks Port Masters Foremans Office and was originally GCR clock number 972. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum key and a copy of the LNER Clock record.
