Smokebox numberplate 63736 ex Great Central Railway Robinson O4 2-8-0 built by The North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1912 and numbered GCR 1203, LNER 6203, 3550, 3736 and BR 63736. Allocated to Immingham, Langwith Junction, Sheffield Neepse nd, Doncaster and 36E Retford Thrumpton from where it was withdrawn in August 1963 and scrapped at Doncaster Works. In restored condition.

London Underground enamel target/bullseye sign ST JOHNS WOOD. This one piece enamel sign is in excellent condition complete with original bronze frame, mounted on board for display. Measures 26in x 18in.
BR(S) Running in board HELLINGLY from the former London Brighton and South Coast Railway station between Tunbridge Wells and Polegate on the line often referred to as the Cuckoo Line which closed in 1965. In very good condition with minor edge chippi ng, measures 55in x 18in.
Nameplate, CITY OF LIVERPOOL ex Great Central Railway Robinson Class 1 4-6-0 built at Gorton in December 1913 and numbered 428, later becoming LNER B2 Class No 5428 and re-classified as B19 Class in 1945. Renumbered 1493 in 1946, it was withdrawn fro m Immingham in April 1947 and subsequently scrapped. Face restored rectangular cast brass complete with part of its original ends which are sometimes cut off, measures 54in x 7in. See next lot for the worksplate.

South African Railways cabside numberplate 3609 24 ex Class 24 2-8-4 built by the North British Railway Company in 1949. Oval cast brass in as removed condition.
Nameplate PENYDARREN RAIL BICENTENARY 1804-2004 ex British Railways Class 43 HST 43037. Allocated new to Old Oak Common Jan 1977. Named 18/2/2004 at Cardiff Central station and removed in Nov 2017 when the loco was transferred to ScotRail. Still in s ervice with ScotRail. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition measures 62in x 9in. Mounted on a hardwood frame for display and comes with an official GWR certificate of authenticity confirming the original owner. Note this is the other side to the one we sold in July 2018.

GWR brass cabside numberplate 2825 ex Churchward 2-8-0 built at Swindon in 1907. Allocated to Oxley, Reading, Worcester, Chester West and 86G Pontypool Road from where it was withdrawn in April 1959 and scrapped. Face restored with clear Class and bo iler stampings in the rim.
Totem BR(M) HF BETWS-Y-COED from the former London & North Western railway station between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction. In very good condition with a couple of small face chips and well executed small crease repair, one of the bette r examples offered from this station.

Withdrawn from 65A Eastfield Dec 1971 and scrapped at BREL Glasgow Works Jul 1972. Diamond shaped cast aluminium, partially cleaned condition with some original green paint, measures 14.25in x 6.25in.

BR(S) FF enamel doorplate STATION MASTER. In excellent condition with one small corner chip and complete with brass eyelets. Measures 18in x 6in.
London and South Western Railway cast iron platform ticket machine complete with later British Transport Commission front screen printed plate. Stands 44in tall. The original BR Southern Region purchase receipt accompanies the lot and is dated 1965.
Nameplate ROYAL FUSILIER ex LMS Fowler Royal Scot 4-6-0 built by The North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1927 and numbered LMS 6111 and later BR 46111. Allocated to Crewe North, Edge Hill, Longsight, Willesden and 16D Annesley from where it w as withdrawn in September 1963 and scrapped later the same year. Curved cast brass, face restored, with one dot punch mark in the rear indicating this is the left hand plate, measures 48.5in long.

GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 9793 ex Collett 0-6-0 PT built at Swindon in 1936. Allocated to Tyseley and 84J Croes Newydd from where it was withdrawn from in August 1963 and scrapped. In lightly restored condition.

Allocated new to 88A Cardiff Cathays July 1963 and withdrawn from 82A Bristol Bath Road Oct 1972. Scrapped at Swindon Works Sept 1973. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition. Measures 12.75in x 5.125in.
South Eastern Railway wooden mile marker 65 1/4. This is from Appledore on the New Romney Branch between Lydd town and Dungeness. The section remains open for removal of nuclear waste from Dungeness Power station. Later on these signs would have been replaced with cast iron ones. In good as removed condition measures 13in x 10.75in. A rare survivor from circa 1883.

Nameplate MARSHALL-FOCH ex Peckett 0-4-0ST built in 1918 as works number 1523 and delivered new to Ebbw Vale Steel Iron & Coal Company, Ebbw Vale and numbered 33. Rectangular cast brass in restored condition, measures 44.75in x 6in. Named after t he famous World War One French Commander who became Supreme Allied Commander in late March 1918 in the face of the all-out German spring offensive, He stopped the German offensive and launched a war-winning counterattack.
GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 6678 ex Collett 0-6-2 T built at Swindon in 1928. Allocated to Landore and 84F Stourbridge Junction from where it was withdrawn in November 1964 and scrapped at Cashmores Great Bridge. Face restored.

Allocated to Llanelli in 1947 and withdrawn from there in February 1956 and scrapped. R ectangular cast brass face restored, measures 34.25in x 6.25in. Of Colonel Stephens interest as he helped with the re construction of this railway from 1908 to 1913.
Totem BR(M) FF BROAD STREET from the former North London Railway terminus in London. This is one of the rare 4ft totems that were used on only a few stations. In good condition with a few small face chip repairs and slight mottling.
GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 5800 ex Collett 0-4-2T built at Swindon in 1933. Allocated to Swindon for all of its working life and withdrawn from there in July 1958 and scrapped at Swindon works. One from a small class of 20 in nicely face resto red condition.
A pair of brass Desilux Diesel air horns complete with controller ex Fisons Weedkiller train spray Coach FA99900 which was converted from a former BR Gloucester RC&W DTC 56315. Both marked Desilux London one measures 18in long and the other 13.5i n and are in nicely cleaned condition.
LMS signalbox board BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET No 5 from the former London & North Western Railway Box that was at the western end of the station adjacent to Hill Street. Wood with cast iron letters the main board in good ex railway condition with the beading replaced, measures 53in x 10.25in.
