Nameplate THE NEWSPAPER SOCIETY ex British Railways Class 43 High Speed Train numbered 43196. Named at St Pancras Station by Robbie Thomas, President of the Society, in April 1986. Nameplates removed in February 1989. Rectangular cast aluminium measu ring 49in x 9in. In as removed condition.
Nameplate KINGFISHER from the LNER Gresley A4 Pacific 4-6-2 LNER No 4483 & 24 and BR No 60024. Built at Doncaster works in December 1936 as works number 1848. Allocated initially to Haymarket and then Kings Cross, Haymarket, Doncaster, Dalry Road , St Margarets and finally to 61B Aberdeen Ferryhill from where it was withdrawn in September 1966 and became the last A4 to operate a British railway revenue earning service and was scrapped at Hughes Bolckow Blyth in February 1967. Face restored a long time ago. A rare change to obtain a long Bird A4. Neither nameplate has ever appeared publicly for sale before, but we sold one of the Kingfisher badges in our November 2007 auction. All the proceeds from this lot will be going to the Kingfisher Primary School in Doncaster and will be used to help with the Renovation of the Hepworth building at the school which will become a community family learning facility for both Children and Parents.

Shedplate 74C Dover 1950-1958 with a sub shed of Folkestone. Face restored with clear casting marks to front and BR(S) Eastleigh Triangle in the back.

GWR cast iron cabside numberplate GWR 373 ex Taff Vale Railway Class A 0-6-2 T TVR number 139 built by Nasmyth Wilson in 1919 as works number 1273. Absorbed into the GWR and numbered GWR 373, the locomotive was withdrawn in August 1957 and scrapped. In original condition with boiler details stamped into the rim. Has had a crack welded from the rear.
Worksplate LMS BUILT 1899 ST ROLLOX ex McIntosh 0-6-0T 56259 which was withdrawn from 67D Ardrossan in August 1960 and scrapped two months later at St Rollox works. Oval Cast brass face restored, measures 10.5in x 6in.
Diesel worksplate THE ENGLISH ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD LONDON THE VULCAN FOUNDRY LTD LOCOMOTIVE WORKS ENGLAND No 2786/ D501 1960 ex BR Class 40 originally numbered D264 then 40064 in 1973. Allocated new to 64B Haymarket and withdrawn from Longsight in 19 82. Scrapped at BREL Crewe. Rectangular chromed brass measures 10.25in x 4.5in. Face restored.
Totem BR(S) FF SHERBORNE from the former London and South Western Railway station between Templecombe and Yeovil Junction. In excellent condition with a few minor edge chips.
London and North Eastern Railway mahogany cased 12 inch dial clock with wire driven fusee movement. Original dial is lettered L.N.E.R 12644. The LNER clock records show this clock was in service at Billingborough Station and replaced a double dial cl ock in April 1949. In working condition complete with pendulum and key.
LNER enamel sign BOOKING HALL. In very good condition measuring 24in x 12in. This is one of the rarer black and white LNER enamels.
London Underground enamel frieze sign LANCASTER GATE measuring 57in x 9in. In very good condition with minor edge chipping.

Carriage Print BLYTHBURGH, SUFFOLK by Eric Scott. Much rarer than the Denham print, from the LNER Post-War Series, around 1947. In original type glazed frame, print measures 20in x 10in and is excellent condition from HQ files with small file perfora tion on the left.
South Eastern Railway brass and fruitwood handled station stamp S.E.R.Y SMEETH STATION. In very good condition measures 3.25in long.

Great Western Railway flame proof tunnel inspection lamp stamped GWR four times in the body. Complete with original GWR stamped rape oil reservoir. An early lamp in excellent condition stands 13in tall.

LNER Kesick Scottish pattern china consisting of 8 coffee cups, 2 different designs; 6 saucers, teapot, 2 milk jugs, teacup, 3 saucers 5.5in diameter, 3 saucers 6.25in diameter. All 24 items in very good condition.
Diesel worksplate BRUSH SULZER No 668 1965 ex BR Class 47 originally numbered D1906 then 47230 in 1974. Allocated new to 86A Ebbw Junction and withdrawn from Cardiff Canton in 1987. Scrapped at Booth-Roe Rotherham. Oval cast aluminium measures 9.5in x 5.75in. Face restored with a small repair around the right hand bolt hole.
Southern Railway enamel target sign RAYNES PARK from the former London and South Western Railway station between Wimbledon and Surbiton. In very good condition with minor edge chipping, measures 33in long.
Smokebox numberplate 34106 ex Bullied 4-6-2 West Country Class locomotive built at Brighton in 1950 and named LYDFORD. Allocated to 71B Bournemouth and 72A Exmouth Junction from where it was withdrawn in October 1964. Scrapped later the same year at Birds Morriston. In lightly cleaned conditionand and believed to have had repairs to the rear mounting lugs.
Shedplate 65A Eastfield 1950-1973 with sub sheds Aberfoyle and Kilsyth to 1951, Kipps and Parkhead to 1962 and Helensburgh 1960-1961. In lightly cleaned condition.
GWR cast iron cabside numberplate 5695 ex Collett 0-6-2 T built at Swindon in 1927. Shedded for most of its life at 88F Treherbert and withdrawn from there in 1962. Scrapped the following year at Cashmores Newport. Face restored.
London Brighton and South Coast Railway Clothes Brush with mahogany handle and LBSCR picked out in lighter coloured bristles. In excellent condition measures 14in long.
Great Northern Railway mahogany cased 8 inch fusee clock lettered on the dial B.R.E. 10956 and retaining its original cast brass bezel. The rectangular chain driven fusee movement has screwed pillars which dates the clock to post 1900. The LNER clock records show that this clock as being last in use at King's Cross Station Passenger Guards Inspector. In working condition complete with pendulum and key.
BR(NE) enamel totem shaped poster board heading BRITISH RAILWAYS, light tangerine measuring 20.5in x 6in. In very good condition.
A Pair of locomotive cab brass cased Duplex pressure gauges, one marked on the dial LER (London Electric Railway) the other District Railway. Both measure 7in diameter and in excellent condition. Both of these companies were later absorbed into Londo n Transport.

Worksplate R & W HAWTHORN LESLIE & CO LTD ENGINEERS NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE 3401 - 1920 ex Taff Vale Railway Class A 0-6-2 T numbered 400 and later GWR 386. Allocated to Barry and 88E Abercynon from where it was withdrawn in March 1956 and scrapped . Oval cast brass, face restored, measuring 6in x 4in.
Diesel worksplate HUDSWELL CLARKE & CO LTD RAILWAY FOUNDRY LEEDS D.M. 1322 1964 ex 2ft gauge fireless loco supplied new to Horden Colliery, Co Durham, then Aslington Central Workshops and New Herrington Colliery. The locomotive was abandoned unde rground in January 1986 when the colliery closed. Oval cast brass measuring 8.25in x 4.25in. In as removed condition. Together with a chromed brass HUDSWELL CLARKE plate off the same engine.

London and North Eastern Railway oak cased Bracket Clock. The original 5 inch dial is lettered LNER 12258 and French circular pendulum movement is in cleaned condition. The oak case in original condition measures 9.5in wide x 14in tall x 6in deep. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. The LNER clock records show this clock as last being located at King's Cross Mr Harrison Chief Civil Engineers Office.

This tender was used on the following Castles; 4097 Kenilworth Castle, 5046 Earl Cawdor, 5001 Llandovery Castle, 5040 Stokesay Castle, 4081 Warwick Castle and 508 0 Defiant. Oval cast iron in nicely restored condition, measures 8.25in x 6in.

Allocated to Hull Botanic Gardens and 53A Hull Dairycoates from where it was withdrawn in January 1961. Scrapped later the same year at Darlington Works. Oval cast brass measures 9in x 5in. Face cleaned.
GWR brass cabside numberplate 3023 ex Robinson Rod 2-8-0 number 1699 built by the North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1919 and purchased by the GWR in 1925. Allocations included Pontypool Road and 84E Tyseley from where it was withdrawn in Oc tober 1955 and scrapped. In lightly cleaned original condition with boiler and engine details stamped into the rim.
Smokebox numberplate 61404 ex LNER Thompson B1 4-6-0 built at Darlington in 1950 and spent all of its working life on the Scottish Regions. Allocations included Kittybrewster, Haymarket, St Rollox, Parkhead and 64A St Margarets from where it was with drawn in November 1965. Scrapped the same year at Motherwell Machinery And Scrap (Wishaw). Face restored with a weld and original bolts. Casting marks in the rear 6-6 RAD BR A1 V2 V1 A2 K1 etc.
Southern Railway enamel target station sign DORKING TOWN from the former South Eastern and Chatham Railway station between Redhill and Guildford. In good condition with a few areas of restoration, measures 36in long.
Caledonian Railway 12 oak cased English style fusee drop dial railway clock by Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany. The original oak case with a spun brass bezel, one side door and is missing its bottom door. The original dial reads Caledonian Railway Co. The brass wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and is stamped W&H SCH. A nice pre grouping Scottish clock in full working order complete with pendulum and key.
