Totem BR(E) FF BENTLEY from the former Great Eastern Railway station between Colchester and Ipswich. In excellent condition with a couple of small minor chips. This is only the second one to appear on the market and we sold the other in our July 2017 auction.
Nameplate HAZELY GRANGE ex GWR Collett Grange 4-6-0 built at Swindon in 1937 and numbered 6840. Allocated to St Phillips Marsh, Pontypool Road, Neath (Court Sart) and 87F Llanelly from where it was withdrawn in February 1965. Scrapped later the same year at Swindon Works. Lightly face restored with L6840 stamped into the rear indicating this is the left hand plate.
Nameplate THE RAILWAY MISSION and Badge ex BR class 47 47725. Built at Crewe in October 1964, named June 1995 nameplates removed in June 2001. Locomotive scrapped at Booth-Roe Metals in June 2006. Cast aluminium In as removed condition nameplate meas ures 90.5in x 9.75in and badge 11in diameter. Sold on behalf of DB Cargo (UK) Ltd and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
Shedplate 85A Worcester 1950-1973 with sub sheds Kingham to 1962, Evesham to 1963, Hartlebury & Honeybourne to 1965 and Ledbury 1961-1964. In restored condition but with clear Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.
London Underground enamel target/bullseye sign WOOD GREEN complete with bronze frame. Measures 60in x 42in and is in very good condition with minor chipping.
GWR signalbox shelf plate LAPWORTH RELIEF LINE. Machine engraved with original wax filling. Measures 4.75in x 1.5in and is in ex railway condition.
Cab plate HAWKER SIDDELEY BRUSH ELECTRICAL MACHINES ex British Railways Class 92. Rectangular stainless steel measures 4.75in x 3in. In as removed condition.
LNER cast iron doorplate RESIDENCE. Face restored, rear original, measures 19.5in long.
Great Western Railway 14 inch mahogany cased weight driven clock. The dial has been sympathetically restored with G.W.R block style lettering. The large A frame deadbeat movement with maintaining power originally also drove a slave dial. The mahogany case shows evidence of having its GWR numberplate removed and stands 67in tall. Number 162 is marked on the pendulum bob and also on the back of the dial. In working condition complete with wooden rod pendulum, weight and key. The last known location of this clock was Twyford Station.
Diesel worksplate BRITISH RAILWAYS DARLINGTON BUILT 1963 POWER EQUIPMENT BY ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES LTD AND SULZER ex BR Class 25 originally numbered D7583 then 25233 in 1974. Allocated new to 16A Toton and withdrawn from Longsight in 1983. Scrapped at BREL Swindon. Rectangular cast aluminium measures 13in x 6.5in. Face lightly restored with a repair to the right hand corner.
Worksplate LMS BUILT 1916 ST ROLLOX ex Caledonian Railway McIntosh 3F 0-6-0 numbered 56363. Withdrawn from 67C Ayr in June 1960 and scrapped at Inverurie Works. Oval cast brass, face restored, measures 10.5in x 6in.
Diesel flamecut cabside panel 55018 ex British Railways Deltic Class 55 built by English Electric in November 1961 and named Ballymoss. Originally numbered D9018. Withdrawn in October 1981 and scrapped the following year at BREL Doncaster. The panel has been neatly trimmed and measures 27in x 14in.
East & West Junction Railway Co SIVER FREE PASS number 26 issued to F. REY Esqre. In excellent condition measures 27mm diameter. A rare survivor.

Great Western Railway brass cashbag plate G.W.R. TEIGNMOUTH. Hand engraved brass measures 2.75in x 1in and still with its leather mount. In very good condition.
Southern Railway enamel target sign EXETER CENTRAL from the former London and South Western Railway station between Yeovil Junction and Crediton. In very good condition with some edge restoration and mounted on original board.
Smokebox numberplate 90183 ex British Railways Riddles WD 2-8-0 built by The North British Locomotive Company Glasgow in 1943 as WD No 7207. Allocations included Patricroft, Newton Heath, Wigan Springs Branch and 36C Frodingham from where it was with drawn in August 1965. Scrapped later the same year at Drapers Hull. Nicely face restored.
Midland Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial fusee clock. The original dial is lettered JOHN SMITH & SONS MIDLAND CLOCK WORKS QUEEN ST DERBY. The English wire driven fusee movement has been recently cleaned and is in good condition. The mahog any case with lenticle window and ornately carved ears retains its LMS oval brass numberplate 12944. A nice clock in working condition complete with pendulum and key. Circa 1870-1880.
BR(SC) enamel poster board station sign DALMENY STATION from the former North British Railway station between Haymarket and Inverkeithing and adjacent to the famous Forth Bridge. In excellent condition measuring 54in x 6in and mounted in a wooden fra me ready to display.
London Underground enamel frieze sign WATERLOO. Measures 61in x 9.75in and is in very good condition with minor edge chipping.

BR(S) FF enamel direction sign STATION with British Railways totem at the top and right facing arrow. Measures 21in x 10.5in and is in excellent condition.
Shedplate 75D Horsham 1950-1959 then Stewarts Lane 1962-1973. Face restored with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the rear and clear casting marks around the numerals on the front.
Worksplate GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY DONCASTER MAKERS No 1427 1914 ex Gresley J50 0-6-0 T and numbered GNR 167, LNER 3167, 3189, 8899 and lastly BR 68899. Allocated to Ardsley, Doncaster and 30A Stratford from where it was withdrawn in December 1960. Sc rapped the following year at Stratford Works. Oval engraved brass measures 12.25in x 7.5in. Face lightly cleaned and rear stamped 3167.

Nameplate CHARLES DARWIN ex BR class 60 60068. Built at Brush Loughborough as works number 970 in July 1991, named in June 1991 name removed November 2009. Locomotive currently stored at Toton. Cast aluminium In as removed condition measures 59in x 9 .75in. Sold on behalf of DB Cargo (UK) Ltd and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity.
British Railways locomotive chime whistle ex Riddles STD Class 7 4-6-2 Britannia, believed to have come from 70026 Polar Star. Nicely mounted onto a wooden plinth. Whistle measures 14in tall x 4.5in diameter.
Original oil painting on canvas MIDNIGHT TRAIN by Don Breckon depicting Western Region Castle 4-6-0 number 5069 Isambard Kingdom Brunel hurtling through the rain at night. This specially commissioned painting was a first for the artist and he produce d a similar style smaller painting of a Coronation Pacific as a study first (see other lot). Complete with all relevant paperwork. Nicely framed measures 34in x 25in. In excellent condition, also includes a preliminary sketch dated 93.
Great Northern Railway large double pie crust 3 Aspect handlamp stamped in the reducing cone and body GNR 8943. Brass plated GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY STATHERN JUNC No5 GN & L&NW JOINT LINES. The lamp is missing its blue glass and fore and aft r eservoir but a desirable item from The Vale of Belvoir.
GWR brass cabside numberplate GWR 312 ex Llanelly & Mynydd Mawr Railway 0-6-0 T built by Andrew Barclay in 1907 as work number 1111 and named George Waddell. At the grouping of 1923 it was rebuilt at Swindon and delivered back to Llanelly in 1927 where it remained until sold in 1935 to R. Razer & Sons who then sold it to Broomhill Collieries in August 1935. It remained there as number 312 until being scrapped in April 1961. Face restored and stamped in the rim G. WADDELL.

Worksplate KERR STUART & CO LTD STOKE-ON-TRENT No4451 1930 ex GWR 0-6-0PT No7716. A long time 83C Exeter engine and was withdrawn in 1959 from there and cut up at Buttiegiegs Newport in 1960. Oval cast brass.
Diesel worksplate NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE CO LTD THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY LTD No 27841 1959 ex British Railways Class 21 numbered D6111. Allocated to 30A Stratford and withdrawn from 65A Eastfield in July 1968. Scrapped the following year at J. McWilliam Shettleston. Diamond shaped cast aluminium, in as removed condition.

BR(M) Enamel station sign TRENT (In Totem). From the former Midland Railway station between Nottingham and Derby. A rare sign not seen before in very good condition with minor edge chipping. Measures 20in x 25in.
Taff Vale Railway 12 inch mahogany cased drop dial trunk clock. The original dial is lettered GWR in roundel. The English wire driven fusee movement has been recently cleaned and is in good condition. The case with flame mahogany veneer, brass bowtie lenticle window, ears, 2 side doors and bottom door with GWR ball bearing catch is in excellent restored condition. The GWR ivorine numberplate GWR 873 is screwed to the left hand side. A superb timepiece supplied by J. Collings of Cardiff circa 1870. In working condition complete with pendulum and key.
LNER Keswick English pattern china Cheese Dish base marked 1931. Both dome and base are in very good condition and measures 7.5in x 6in x 4in tall.
Canadian Pacific Railway cast aluminium Royal Crown as fitted to Canadian Pacific Railways 4-6-4 Hudson Pacific 2850 for the visit of King George VI in 1939 and after the visit to all 45 members of the H-1-C, H-1-D and H-1-E 4-6-4 locomotives. In as removed condition, measures 13in x 13in.

Allocated to Newton Abbot, Old Oak Common and Cardiff Canton from where it was withdrawn in November 1962. Scrapped at Birds RISCA in August 1964. Face restored.

South Eastern Railway Refreshment Department wicker hamper stencilled on the top REFT DEPT SER and on the sides 840. Complete with original enamel plate STROOD to the front. A delightful item and possibly a sole survivor. Measures 13in x 13in x 5.5in .

Withdrawn from 38A Colwick in July 1949 and scrapped at D oncaster Works. Oval hand engraved brass lightly face polished and stamped in the back R 3048. Measures 17.5in x 9.5in. face polished.

Face restored, rear with traces of green paint.
Totem BR(NE) HF with black edged letters YORK from the famous North Eastern Railway station between Doncaster and Darlington. In excellent condition with small areas of restoration to the top and bottom flanges. An exceptionally rare totem that has o nly been offered twice before at auction, the last one being 15 years ago.
Southern Railway Flaman locomotive SPEED INDICATOR/RECORDER with makers name on the front ATELIERS VAUCANSON SOUTHERN RAILWAY 46. Measures 12in wide x 17in tall and is in good condition with a crack to the top glass which could easily be replaced. As used by the Southern Railway in all of the Lord Nelson class locomotives. GWR brass signal lever leads x7 consisting of; 11 DISC, 11 UP MAIN, 12 F.P.LS, 11 FPL (painted), 13 FPL, 16 MAIN TO CROSS and 18 DOWN MAIN FACING. All originate from the Cambrian section of the GWR.
Locomotive headboard ROYAL SCOT. This is one of the examples that were introduced in 1961. Cast aluminium with letters fixed from the rear with small nuts. In original condition with plenty of signs of use top and bottom and complete with original mo unting bracket.
