Great Southern Railway (Ireland) double sided enamel sign GSR MOTOR BUS STOPS HERE. Both sides in good condition with some fading measures 21.5in x 21.5in. In 1929 when the GSR acquired a stake in the Irish Omnibus Company it ran bus services. These operations became the responsibility, from 1 January 1934, of the Great Southern Railways Omnibus Department.

BR(M) FF enamel station railway sign FOR TRAINS TO WALSALL DUDLEY. In good displayable condition with some face chip repairs. Measures 20in x 18in.

LNER Double Royal enamel poster board heading L.N.E.R. In good condition with some chipping and loss at the centre screw holes, measures 30in x 5.5in. A rare variant in white on red and possibly an early version for the Great Northern stations as the ir poster boards were this colour.

Southern Railway Cronin indicator board enamel WAREHAM SWANAGE DORCHESTER WEMOUTH. In excellent condition measures 10.25in x 3.25in.

GWR railmotor destination board, WEYMOUTH-PORTLAND, from the Great Western and London & South Western Railway Joint branch which closed to passengers in 1952. IN original condition painted wood with metal brackets, measures 47.5in x 9in overall.

Southern Railway indicator board enamel GREAT WESTERN TRAINS WARMINSTER, WESTBURY, TROWBRIDGE, BATH, BRISTOL, NEWPORT, CARDIFF. In excellent condition with chipping to two corners, measures 15.75in x 8in. Probably from Salisbury Station after the 193 2 transfer of GWR passenger trains to the Southern station.

Southern Railway/ LB&SCR enamel indicator board CANTERBURY WEST from either the boards at Victoria or Brighton. In very good condition measures 12in x 1.5in.

North Eastern Railway carriage destination board SCARBOROUGH & PICKERING - PICKERING AND YORK VIA GILLING. In excellent condition measures 33in x 3.5in. A rare survivor.

London Underground Tube Stock enamel cab destination plate. MOORGATE VIA FINNSBURY PARK - ALEXANDRA PALACE. In very good condition complete with brass ends, these dual colour plates are very rare. Measures 24.5in x 4in.

London Underground Central Line cab destination board WOOD LANE - LOUGHTON. This dates from around 1938 when the LNER station at Loughton was taken over by the LPTB. Double sided enamel complete with brass ends, measures 24.5in x 4in.

London Underground Piccadilly Line cab destination board GREEN PARK - HAMMERSMITH. This was used on standard 1938 stock. Double sided enamel complete with brass ends, measures 24.5in x 4in.

London Underground Northern Line cab destination board HENDON - CLAPHAM COMMON. This is an early version with the named tabs on top. Double sided enamel complete with brass ends, measures 24.5in x 4.5in.

London Underground cab destination board ALL STATIONS - NON STOP. This is an early version with swivel pins either end, a rare sign as the underground did not run non stop trains for too long. Double sided enamel complete with brass ends, measures 2 5in x 4in.

Shedplate 21A Saltley 1935-September 1963. This ex MR shed was home to almost 200 locos in the early 1950s. and by the time it was recoded 2E in 1963, it still had 100 locos on its books. It finally closed to steam in March 1967. Face restored.

Shedplate 71A Eastleigh 1950-September 1963. This ex LSWR shed housed eleven King Arthurs and eight Lord Nelsons among its 1950 allocation of 140 locos. By the time it changed code to 70D in 1963, fifteen West Country pacifics were present in a total of 100 locos. Closure to steam came in July 1967. In face restored condition with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern region casting marks on the front.

Shedplate 73A Stewarts Lane 1950 to June 1962. This ex SECR shed had an allocation of over 100 locos during this period. Of note were 7 King Arthurs, 6 Schools 13 Bulleid Light Pacifics and 3 Merchant Navys. In June 1962 it was recoded 75D, and lost its steam allocation in September 1963. It is still a Repair and Maintenance depot for diesel and electric locos and a servicing point for steam locos. Face restored with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern Region casting marks on the front.

Shedplate 75A Brighton 1950 and closed to steam June 1964. This ex LBSCR shed had a 1950s allocation of around 75 locos, most notable being the Brighton Atlantics and a large number of the Schools 4-4-0s. A handful of West Country Pacifics were also maintained here. Face restored with the BR(S) Eastleigh triangle cast into the back and typical Southern Region casting marks on the front.

Shedplate 81C Southall 1949-January 1966. This ex GWR shed was home to around 70 locos during the 1950s. By 1965 it had just 3 Halls and 39 other locos. In face cleaned condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 81D Reading 1948 to January 1965. This ex GWR shed had 90 locos in the 1950s including a handful of Castles and around 20 Halls. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 81F Oxford 1950-January 1966. This ex GWR shed was home to 11 Halls and 4 Granges in its final year; and provided vital servicing facilities for visiting steam locos from all four post grouping companies. At its height it had an allocation of around 60 locos. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate cast aluminium 82A Bristol Bath Road. This aluminium code was used by diesel hydraulic and diesel electric locos. In lightly restored condition.

Shedplate 82B St Philips Marsh 1950 -6/64. This ex GWR shed in Bristol had a substantial allocation of over 140 locos in the 50s, including a large number of Halls and Granges. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 82C Swindon 1949-April 1965 to steam, completely 1970. This ex GWR shed had an allocation of 120 in the 1950s. During this period it was home to 7 Castles 7 Saints, 4 Bulldogs, 6 Stars, 7 castles and 12 Halls. In its final year its most fam ous loco was the last active County, 1011 County of Chester. Face restored, rear and edge with clear Swindon casting marks.

Shedplate 82F Weymouth 1949 to February 1958, then Bath Green Park February 1958 to March 1966. The ex GWR shed at Weymouth had 30 locos during this period including a Saint, a Castle and 9 Halls. It then swopped regions and codes with the ex MR and S&DJR joint shed at Bath Green Park, which had 50 locos during this period. Weymouth was again recoded in September 1963 to 70G and closed to steam in July 1967. The joint shed at Bath was noted for its S&DJR 2-8-0s and the diminutive Sentinel 0-4-0T 47191. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 83A Newton Abbot 1949 to January 1963 for steam. This ex GWR shed had an allocation of 70 locos which included 14 Castles throughout the 1950s. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 83C Exeter 1949-October 1963. This ex GWR shed had an allocation of 35 locos during the 1950s, but in the final 18 months of its life, this was down to single figures. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear an d edge.

Shedplate 83D Plymouth Laira 1949-September 1963, recoded 84A, closed to steam April 1964. This ex GWR depot had between 80 and 100 locos during the period it used this code. At one time it had 18 Castles, 3 Counties, 1 star, 11 Halls, 2 Granges , 4 Manors and last but not least, 10 Kings. It was also home to Class 41/43 Warships and Class 52 Westerns, many being noted carrying these cast iron steam codes. In restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 83G Penzance 1949-September 1962. This ex GWR shed had a star studded allocation of 35 locos in the mid 1950s; Castles, Counties, Granges and Halls outnumbering a handful of tank locos. In face restored condition with correct Swindon castin g marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 83H Plymouth Friary February 1958-May 1963. This ex LSWR shed, formerly in the SR as 72D, was home to just 11 locos at the end of the 1950s. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate cast aluminium 84A Plymouth Laira. This aluminium code was used by diesel hydraulic and diesel electric locos. In lightly cleaned condition with plenty of BR green paint to the edge.

Shedplate 84C Banbury 1949-September 1963, then Truro September 1963-November 1965. The ex GWR shed at Banbury housed between 50 and 70 locos during this period, before it was transferred to the LM region, becoming 2D. By the time the ex GWR shed at Truro had gained this code, it had lost its steam allocation and was being used as diesel stabling point. Closure came in November 1965. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 84E Tyseley 1949-September 1963. This ex GWR depot had well over 100 locos on its books during the time it used this code. It was transferred to the LMR and became 2A, finally closing to steam in November 1966. In face restored condition wi th correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 84F Stourbridge Junction 1949-September 1963. This ex GWR shed was home to 85 locos in the 1950s, but by the time it was taken into the LMR as 2C in 1963 this number had dwindled to 35. The shed finally closed in July 1966. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 84G Shrewsbury 1950-September 1960. The ex GWR/LNWR Joint shed had used 4 different BR codes by the time it closed to steam in November 1967. Formerly LMS 4A, a code which BR used until 1950; it became WR 84G then 89A, and finally 6D on tra nsfer to the LMR in 1963. The late 1950s allocation using this code included 7 Counties, 15 Halls, 4 Castles and a pair of Manors. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 84J Croes Newydd 1949-October 1960. This ex GWR shed was home to around 50 locos during this period, before it became 89B, and finally LMR 6C. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 84K Chester GWR 1948-February 1958, then Wrexham Rhosddu February 1958-January 1960. The ex GWR shed at Chester had around 55 locos while using this Western Region code. It was transferred to the London Midland, becoming 6E, and closing in April 1960. The ex GCR shed at Wrexham Rhosddu, formerly 6E, exchanged places with Chester, and also had around 55 locos. It closed to steam in January 1960. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 85B Gloucester Horton Road 1949 to January 1966. This ex GWR shed had 100 locos on its books in the 1950s, which included Castles, Manors, and Halls. In the final 12 months it still maintained four Castles and four Halls in an allocation of 35 locos. In restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate cast aluminium 86A Cardiff Canton 1963-1973. This aluminium code was used by diesel hydraulic and diesel electric locos. Face restored back original.

Shedplate 86B Newport Pill 1949-September 1963, then Newport Ebbw Junction September 1963-October 1965. This tiny ex ADR two road shed in the docklands area of Newport was home to about 60 locos in the 1950s. On closure the code was adopted by Ebbw J unction 86A Having once been home to 150 locos in the 1950s, it now housed around 80 which included a handful of Halls and Granges. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 86C Cardiff Canton 1950-September 1960, then Hereford September 1960-November 1964. The ex GWR shed at Canton had around 130 locos on its books during this time, which included Castles, Halls, and a dozen BR Britannias. Canton became 88A un til September 1963 when, as a diesel depot it became 86A. The former GWR shed at Hereford, formerly 85C, had 27 locos when it adopted this code. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 86E Severn Tunnel Junction 1948 to October 1965 for steam. This ex GWR shed was home to around 75 locos in the 1950s. In face restored condition with correct Swindon casting marks to rear and edge.

Shedplate 87A Neath 1949-June 1965. This ex GWR shed was home to 60 locos during the 1950s. In its final few months this had dwindled to just 10. Face restored with Swindon U pattern number visible .

Shedplate 87C Danygraig 1949-January 1960 for steam, March 1964 totally. This ex R&SBR shed was home to an exotic collection of pre-grouping tank engines throughout it BR days when its total allocation was never more than 30 locos. Face restored with a clear later style Swindon casting.

Shedplate 87F Llanelly 1949 to October 1965. This ex GWR shed housed 90 locos in the 50s, and during its BR life it had a sprinkling of Halls and Granges. Its final year's allocation of 22 included 3 ex LMS 8F 2-8-0s. Face restored with a later style Swindon casting.

Shedplate 87G Carmarthen 1949-April 1964. This ex GWR shed was home to 40 locos during the 1950s.In the early 60s it housed 5 Manors and, surprisingly, the same number of ex WD 2-8-0s. Face restored with clear Swindon casting marks on the edge and re ar and chalked on the back a loco number from the 78XX Manor class.

Shedplate 87H Neyland 1949-September 1963, then Whitland until December 1963. The ex GWR shed at Neyland had an allocation of 45 locos which at one time included 4 Counties, 4 Halls and a solitary Manor. On closure, sub shed Whitland used the code fo r its allocation of 15 locos until it too closed just three months later. Face lightly restored over original paint, rear and edge with clear Swindon casting marks.

Shedplate 88A Cardiff Cathays 1949 - December 1957, then Cardiff Radyr December 1957 - October 1960, then Cardiff Canton October 1960 - September 1962. The ex TVR shed at Cathays had an allocation of 80 locos, while ex GWR shed Radyr had 55 locos dur ing this period. Ex GWR Canton had an allocation of 130 included 12 Britannias until September 1961. Canton closed to steam in September 1962 and became a diesel depot. Face restored, rear and edge with clear Swindon casting marks.
