Allocated to Cankl ow, Staveley and 41J Langwith Junction from where it was withdrawn in February 1966 and scrapped at Drapers Hull. Oval cast brass face restored measures 9.5in x 5.75in.

London & North Western Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good clean condition. The mahogany case with a one piece turned surround has one side door and a bottom door secured with a lock the back of the box is stamped 4143 and has a BR label which shows it was sent back to the Clock and Watch Department Manchester from the Operating Department at Watford Junction. The rectangular plated fusee movement is in good clean condition. The dial is lettered B.R.(LM) John Walker 1, South Molton St London 4143. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys.

London Brighton & South Coast Railway 10 inch mahogany cased drop dial fusee railway clock supplied to the LB&SCR by William Wright in 1850. The English fusee movement of typical London style has square plates with shaped shoulders and a cut out at the bottom, these are held together by turned tapered pillars. The white enamel hand painted dial displaying bold Roman numerals and the legend, B.R.(S). John Walker 1, South Molton St London 158.B. The clock retains its original cast bezel with a convex glass. The mahogany case has a one piece turned convex surround and the back box is of traditional mid to late 19th century design with one side access door and a bottom door secured by a brass lock, the rear of the case has been stamped 158.B. which was applied on or after the grouping of the Southern Companies. The Southern clock records show that this clock was originally supplied by William Wright of Tooley St London in 1850 and was last in railway service at Newhaven Harbour South Signal Box. In good working condition complete with pendulum and keys. William Wright (1828-1851) supplied 108 clocks to the fledgling London Brighton and South Coast Railway from 1841-1861, this particular clock is not only one of his earliest supplied clocks but one of only four of this type and so far the only known survivor. A rare and desirable timepiece from a recorded London maker.

Barry Railway 12 inch oak cased fusee railway clock supplied to the Barry Railway by Barry and Sons of Cardiff circa 1860. The English chain driven fusee movement in fully overhauled condition has large A shaped plates with a rectangular cut out to t he bottom these are held together by turned cylindrical shaped pillars. A Fine oak case with a 8 piece segmented convex and concave surround held on to the back box by four tapered pegs with a GWR numberplate 3508 fixed onto the left hand side, the back box is of typical mid 19th century design with two side doors and a bottom door with the lock removed and secured by a ball bearing catch, this would have been fitted by the GWR clock workshops at Reading and is a common feature on GWR clocks. The original dial is lettered G.W.R. in the block style and also visible is the original Ghosted dial writing BARRY RAILWAY Coy BARRY & Sons CARDIFF. In good working condition complete with pendulum and key.

The mahogany case with a one piece turned wooden surround has one side door, a bottom door secured with the GWR ball bearing catch and spun brass bezel, the GWR ivorine clock numberplate G.W.R. 1494 is screwed onto the left hand side of the case. North Eastern Railway oak cased 10 inch fusee railway clock supplied by Potts of Leeds circa 1880. The wire driven English fusee movement has rectangular plates and has recently been oiled and a new suspension spring fitted. The original dial letter LNER 5784 has POTTS & SONS LEEDS also visible as ghosted writing. The oak case with its original spun brass bezel has two side doors and a bottom door secured with a brass lock. The LNER clock records show it was last in use at Scarborough Station Goods Chief Accounts Office. In good working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the LNER clock record.

South Eastern Railway 12in dial oak cased drop dial railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the SER circa 1850. The chain driven English fusee movement with rectangular plates held together by turned tapered pillars is in good cleaned condi tion. The case is in nicely restored condition with two door side doors one with the clock numberplate 13 screwed onto it and a bottom door with the lock removed and replaced with the standard brass turn, the back of the box is stamped 13.SE. The dial is in original condition and is screen printed JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON and lettered B.R.(S) (ghosted) 13.S.E. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum which is stamped 13 and key. The Southern Railway records show this clock as last being in use at Seaton Junction Platform and previously at Ashley Crossing Ringwood and New Cross A signal box cabin which would have been its location before the grouping. A very low numbered South Eastern Clock.

British Railways Southern Region 8 inch oak cased fusee railway clock with a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement, supplied to the Southern region in 1958 by Stockall, Marples & Co at a cost of 11-14-0d. The original dial display s BR 11610 and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. The Southern Railway clock records show that it was last in use at Brighton Station District Engineers Works Study Section. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the SR Clock record.

London and South Western Railway 8 inch Mahogany cased drop dial fusee clock with a cast brass bezel supplied to the LSWR in 1896 by John Gaydon of Barnstaple at a cost of 2-15-0d. The wire driven English fusee movement with rectangular plates held t ogether by turned tapered pillars has been overhauled and the dial lettered L&SWR JNo GAYDON 154 BARNSTAPLE has been restored by Dr D.R Parr. The Mahogany case is in very good restored condition and features fine figured mahogany. The Southern Railway clock records show that it was last in use at Oreston (Plymouth) Booking Office. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the SR Clock record.

Cheshire Lines Joint Committee 12inch Mahogany cased fusee railway dial clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the CLC around 1890. The A framed chain driven fusee movement is in good clean condition and the back plate is stamped W&H Sch which are the markings for Winterhalder & Hofmeier of Schwarzenbach Germany who were one of the main suppliers to the CLC clock contractors. The original white enamel dial lettered G.ECCLES & SON LIVERPOOL C.L.C. 276 has been lightly restored and the case is in nicely restored condition. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.

Cockermouth and Workington Railway 12 inch dial oak cased fusee clock supplied to the C&WR by Robert Sutton of Whitehaven. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and is stamped 971 in the backplate. The oak case has a four piece turned surround back box with one side door and a bottom door secured by a brass turn. The original dial is lettered C&WR SUTTON WHITEHAVEN. A rare clock that has retained its pre grouping dial writing. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.

Taff Vale Railway 12 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a wire driven rectangular plated fusee movement with shaped shoulders and turned pillars supplied to the TVR circa 1870 by Joseph Collings of Cardiff and is in cleaned condition. The o riginal dial displays BR-W. The case has two side doors and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and the BR-W clock ivorine numberplate 5556 is screwed onto the right had side of the case. A lovely 19th century timepiece in working condition complete with pendulum and key but not tested for timekeeping. Note just legible on the back of the box is BRISTOL ??? so we can probably assume this clock was in use sometime there.

North Eastern Railway oak cased 10 inch fusee railway clock supplied by Potts of Leeds circa 1880. The wire driven English fusee movement has shaped shoulders and cut out to the bottom and has recently been oiled. The original dial unusually with 12 hour Arabic numerals is screen printed with BR and 6181 hand painted, the rear of the dial also has the instruction to paint 12HR. The oak case with its original spun brass bezel has two side doors and a bottom door secured with a brass lock. The LNER clock records show it was last in use at York Eastern Region Headquarters and used in Room 5 and previously was at Doncaster works in the CME electrical section. In working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the LNER clock record, but not tested for timekeeping. A rare variant with just the 12 hour in Arabic.

London & North Western Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good cleaned condition. The mahogany case with a one piece turned surround has on e side door and a bottom door secured with a lock. Its LNWR enamel numberplate 4043 is secured onto the side of the back box. The rectangular plated fusee movement is in good clean condition. The original dial is lettered LNWR J.N.O. WALKER LTD 127 FENCHURCH ST & 63 NEW BOND ST LONDON 8190 (the dial number is a Walker number not to be confused with the LNWR clock number). A rare survivor with original dial painting as most were repainted LMSR or BR(LM). In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key

GWR mahogany cased PORK PIE signal box clock. The quality French made movement is in good working condition, the enamel dial is hand painted GWR 0.4 and is free from chips and hairline cracks. The brass back of the case is hand engraved GWR 0.4. Thes e are a superior clock to the later Smiths type. Measures 6.5in diameter and in full working condition. A very low number and was originally from the Worcester area.

GWR brass drum clock and original wooden Drum Clock cupboard. The Clock with enamel dial painted GWR and stamped 5665 on the case. The French movement has had the GWR modified winder fitted. In good working condition but not checked for accuracy. Dia l measures 3.25in diameter and is free from chips and has a minor hairline crack. The painted pine cupboard is in original condition with brass lock and key and both hinges are stamped GWR, measures 9in x 8in x 4in. The clock and cupboard were used in the Yard Supervisors office at Jersey Marine. In 30 years of running auctions we have never seen a cupboard for a drum clock and doubt many would have survived.

The original dial displays L.N.E.R. 11689. The case has a spun brass bezel one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Manchester London Road station Booking Office. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key and a copy of the LNER clock record.

Great Western Railway 12 inch dial mahogany cased drop dial trunk fusee railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the GWR around 1851-3 by Joseph Fairer of London. The rectangular plated english fusee movement has rectangular plates and turne d pillars. The mahogany case with GWR ivorine clock numberplate 811 screwed to the left hand side has an eight piece segmented surround, back box with two side doors and a bottom door with inlaid stringing surround secured by a brass lock. The original dial is lettered GWR in Roundel and clearly visible as ghosted writing is FAIRER 17 BISHOPGATE, WITHOUT St LONDON 570. In working condition complete with pendulum and keys. A rare early example from this seldom seen supplier. Joseph Fairer working from 1849-1875 is recorded in Britten's Old Clock and Watches as working in 17 Bishopgate, Without from 1851-1851 so this accurately dates this clock.

South Eastern Railway 8in dial oak cased drop dial railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement which has rectangular plates with turned pillars and stamped on the back plate SER. The oak case is in nicely restored condition with one side door and a bottom door secured by a lock and 1437 SE on the inside and branded SER on the back, the side door retains its brass 1437 numberplate and the cast brass bezel hinge is also stamped with the same number. The dial is screen printed JOHN WALKER 1 SOUTH MOLTON ST LONDON and lettered B.R.(S) 1437.S.E. The Southern Railway records show this clock as last being in use at Waterloo Station London Towel depot and previously at the Laundry Greenwich. In working condition complete with pendulum and a copy of the SR Clock record. A less common SER clock in this smaller size.

GWR 12 inch Mahogany cased drop dial fusee railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the Great Western Railway circa 1850. The quality English fusee movement in fully overhauled condition has rectangular plates which are held together by shap ed pillars. A Mahogany drop dial case with a lovely flame mahogany veneer which is tooled along the sides. The back box is of mid 19th century London design with a shallow curve to the bottom, the bottom door is cock beaded and retains its original brass lock and the GWR ivorine numberplate 632 is screwed onto the front of the drop. The original painted iron dial with Roman numerals and block lettered GWR has had a few small patches of sympathetic restoration around the dial pillars but the rest has been left for originality. One of the better examples of a very early GWR clock to come onto the market. Restoration was carried out by Simon Turner of Railwayclocks in 2015 when it was sold. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.

Vale Of Glamorgan Railway 12 inch Oak cased English fusee railway clock with a spun brass bezel supplied to the VOG Railway circa 1870 to 1880 by Barry & Sons of Cardiff. The original dial is lettered GWR and visible as ghosted writing is BARRY & amp; SONS, CARDIFF, V of G.R.Co. The case has two side doors and a bottom door secured with the normal modified GWR ball bearing catch and the GWR clock ivorine numberplate G.W.R. 2138 is screwed onto the left had side of the case. The quality English chain driven fusee movement with thick A frame plates that are held together by turned tapered pillars, is in working condition recently oiled and fitted with a new suspension spring and is complete with pendulum and key. An exceptionally rare clock. The Vale of Glamorgan line was opened on the 1st December 1897 between Barry and Bridgend and was worked exclusively by the Barry Railway until the Grouping in 1922.

Great Western Railway post grouping nickel cased pocket watch No 0335. With a Limit No2 Swiss made 15 jewel movement with top wind and top set. Dial enamelled LIMIT No2 GWR 335 and has some hairline cracks but no chips. Rear of the case is hand engra ved G.W.R. 0335. In excellent working condition complete with Albert, chain and a hallmarked silver St Christopher. An early post grouping example.

Metropolitan Railway Guards watch No 17. In a nickel case with a brass English lever movement with top wind and lever set marked John walker Ltd 127 Fenchurch St London 10206. Dial enamelled JOHN WALKER LTD 10206 enamelled onto the dial. Rear of case hand engraved METROPOLITAN RAILWAY 17 although this is a little rubbed from use. In excellent working condition.

London Passenger Transport Board pocket Watch with a Swiss Record 15 Jewel movement, top wound and set. Dial is marked RECORD and is free from chips or cracks and the rear of the case is machine engraved L.P.T.B. 703. In excellent working condition. The LPTB existed between 1933 to 1948.

Great Western Railway nickel cased pocket watch with a Rotherhams London English lever movement No 178115, top wound and lever set. The dial is enamelled G.W.R and has a couple of small hairline cracks but no chips. The rear of the case is hand engra ved G.W.R 1566. In very good clean working condition. Complete with Albert and a couple of Silver Fobs one Hallmarked and the other Persian silver.

British Railways Western Region chrome plated nickel cased pocket watch with Swiss Montine 17 Jewel incabloc movement. The rear of the case is engraved BR(W) 6984 and the dial is in excellent condition. In good working condition.

Chester & Holyhead Railway Pocket watch. Key wound and key set brass chain drive fusee movement engraved on backplate Jo Fairer 209 Shoreditch London. The nickel case has C.H.R No 9 hand engraved on the back and the dial, with no chips and a smal l hairline crack, has CHESTER & HOLYHEAD RAILWAY J.FAIRIER 209 SHOREDITCH LONDON enamelled on it. In working condition complete with key. Joseph Fairer working from 1849-1875 is recorded in Britten's Old Clock and Watches as working in 209 Shoreditch in 1849-1851 so this accurately dates this watch. A watch of significant rarity circa 1849.

Midland Railway Northern Counties Committee nickel cased pocket watch with a going barrel movement number 179442 signed Sharman D Neil Belfast, top wound and set. Dial enamelled Sharman D Neil Belfast and is free from chips and cracks and the rear of the case is hand engraved M.R N.C.C. No 3. although a little worn. In full recently oiled working condition. A rare early survivor.

Hall-marked Sterling silver .925 Birmingham 1885 and inside of case engraved with Kendall & Dent's Cheapside Lever Full Jewels Ex pressly Examined, rear of the case hand engraved B.C.D.R No 28 in Garter. Dial enamelled Kendall & Dent London and is free from chips and cracks. In full recently oiled working condition complete with key. A rare early survivor.

Great Western Railway map WOLVERHAMPTON & BRIDGNORTH RAILWAY AND KINGSWINFORD BRANCH (O.W. and W Railway) 2 Chain Survey 1933 VOL 215. A very large extending map on folding linen, the covers have the words Secretary’s Office gold-stamped beneath the title. On folding linen in 59 sections, size about 41 feet long x 12in tall. The maps covers a stretch of line that includes Brockmoor Halt (Brierley Hill), Pensnett Halt-with links to collieries, brickworks etc.- Gornal Halt, Himley station, Wombourne station, Penn Halt, Compton Halt, Tettenhall station and the Oxley Branch junction. There is a wealth of detail on local industry and workings on both sides of the line and various canals are shown where they are near the railway. Folds into stiff dark leather boards size 12in x 9.25in. In excellent condition.
